Might & Magic: Heroes VI – PC Game Release Date Delayed

If you’re one of the many PC gamers that are waiting for Black Hole Entertainment’s much-anticipated turn-based strategy game Might & Magic: Heroes VI to arrive, then I’m afraid you’ll be waiting a little longer than you originally expected.

According to a recent article by Jay Acevedo over on the gamefocus.ca website, the upcoming PC game’s release date has unfortunately been delayed. Rather than hitting stores in June as originally planned, the game won’t be released now until September 8th.

The news of the launch date being pushed back was confirmed both on the official forums and the Facebook page. The reason behind the delay is simply that the development team wants to make sure that the quality of the game goes beyond fans’ expectations.

Might & Magic: Heroes VI – which was officially revealed during last year’s GamesCom event – will provide players with a host of new features including a town conversion functionality, a brand new reputation system, boss fights and online community features.

The Heroes VI game is in fact a prequel to the main campaigns of the Heroes of Might and Magic V game, and takes place 4 centuries earlier in the world of Ashan. The game consists of five factions: Inferno, Stronghold, Necropolis, Haven and Sanctuary.

Might & Magic: Heroes VI – Ubisoft Announces Collector’s Edition

Back in August last year we announced the upcoming Might & Magic: Heroes VI game, which as we mentioned is due to release at some stage this year. Although we still haven’t got a confirmed launch date yet, we do have news of a special Collector’s Edition of the game.

If you decide to opt for the Collector’s Edition of the much-anticipated Might & Magic: Heroes VI game, you will receive a poster, a T-shirt, a 164-page art book, a CD soundtrack, a special commemorative ring, two exclusive in-game items and four exclusive in-game heroes.

On top of all those great sounding goodies, you will also receive one month’s free subscription to the browser-based MMO, Might & Magic: Heroes Kingdom. Unfortunately we don’t have any information on pricing yet. You can read more over at eurogamer.net (written by Fred Dutton).

Might & Magic Heroes VI: Officially Announced for PC

If you are a fan of Might & Magic video games you may have been frustrated with the lack of a title since 2006′s Heroes of Might & Magic V, however Ubisoft has recently officially announced Might & Magic Heroes VI.

Full details are scarce at present, however Black Hole Entertainment are developing the game, it should arrive some time in 2011 and will only be available for the PC.

Might & Magic Heroes VI will be set four hundred years before the last installment, it will still have its turn-based, role playing backbone, however gameplay is being remastered.

To be honest the Might & Magic Heroes video games needed a bit of a refresh (in my opinion), therefore it is nice to hear that Black Hole Entertainment are enhancing the RPG with larger maps etc.
