What’s more is that we have also got the specs and a price for the said device. According to a recent article over at laptoping.com, the Asus Eee PC 1015PX netbook come with a 1.66GHz dual-core N570 processor, 1GB of DDR3 system memory and a 10.1-inch display with a 1024 x 600 resolution.

The 1015PX also features a 250GB hard drive, with Windows 7 Starter pre-installed. The Asus Eee PC 1015PX actually comes in two different variants: the 1015PX-PU17, which comes with a 56W/h battery that provides up to 11 hours of run time and the 1015PX-MU17 with a 48W/h battery.

It also comes with a stereo speaker system, wireless N and Bluetooth 3.0 technology, LAN and VGA ports, an MMC/SD card reader, three USB 2.0 connectors and a 0.3-megapixel webcam. Both versions come in a variety of colours including black, white, blue and red.

As Vlad Savov over at engadget.com recently noted, the 17.3-inch M6600 mobile workstation offers a number of options including a multi-touch LED-backlit display with stylus functionality, NVIDIA Quadro 4000M graphics, a 2.5GHz quad-core Core i7-2910XM processor and 16GB of DDR3 RAM.

In regards to the hard drive options, customers have a choice of up to 750GB SATA hard drive or up to 256GB Solid State hard drive. The prices start from £1,549 ($2,590) excluding shipping and VAT, although a device with the aforementioned specs would actually set you back £4,714 ($7,880).

According to the specs list over on the Dell website, the M6600 mobile workstation laptop also comes with integrated Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 3.0, integrated high quality speakers, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a SmartCard reader, 2 USB 3.0 ports and a HDMI output. You can read more via Dell.com.

16 applications made the ‘best of 2010′ list that have been brought together by the traffic they received throughout 2010. I have given a description of applications I regard to be the better pick in the list, but you can see all of them here via Gizmodo.

Soluto – This application attempts to analyse how long it takes your system to boot, and then gives you a breakdown of of those programs that load when your computer starts up. You then have a few categories that allow you to see which “no brainier” applications can be removed from startup, and which are “potentially removable.” With this program, you can speed up system boot times by removing these selected programs which in turn make the load time a shorter affair.

LookInMyPC – This program does exactly what it says by giving you every single bit of system information about your computer in one place. Talk about convenient.

Snow Transformation Pack – Not necessarily an application to solve problems, but more of a cosmetic change. If you are bored with your desktop backgrounds or current themes, you can always try and turn your Windows PC into Mac OS X. This is what this pack does, and although it is basically a theme, it does more than that by changing your entire interface to act and look exactly like OS X.

CCleaner and CCleaner Enchancer – CCleaner has always been a popular solution for getting rid of unwanted files filling up your PC. CCleaner Enchancer takes this on board and adds a list of over 400 more applications that deposit unwanted files on your hard drive. After a swift analysis, it will then find these unwanted files and give you the option of deleting them afterwards, telling you how much space you saved.

ZeuApp – Just after a fresh install of Windows, have you ever thought about the possible list of applications you want to install, but can’t remember them all? This handy little program has a library of 82 open-source applications and sorts them in to categories for you meaning that you wont ever forget to install anything again. There is also a similar website for this called Ninite, that does the same job. Both of which I highly recommend.

Pale Moon – If you are a Firefox user, but think that it could just be a little more faster, Pale Moon is the Firefox clone to go to. According to statistics, it clocks in at 25% faster and is specifically optimized for speed.

Amongst the fixes in Firefox 3.6.11, two thirds of them were labelled as critcal, two as high and two which received the moderate and low labels.

The “binary planting” vulnerability also known as “DLL load hijacking” is a flaw that exists in the Windows environment. It works in the way that some Windows applications do not call the DLL’s by using the full path name, and just rely’s on calling the filename alone.

By doing this, hackers could potentially replace the called file with one of their own, which could mean that the program could be exploited by attackers who want to infiltrate your system.
