As noted over on the uk.psp.ign.com website, the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS versions of the Michael Jackson: The Experience game have been created from the ground up, and will take full advantage of the handheld consoles’ technical capabilities.

Using the devices’ touch screens, players will be tasked with drawing a number of shapes in line with both the beat and the choreographies of the on-screen Michael Jackson avatar. As players continue improving, they will unlock bonus content such as ‘power-up’ gloves and Michael’s outfits.

The game enables players to rediscover 15 different settings that are inspired by Michael’s stage performances and music videos, including the underworld club from Smooth Criminal and the graveyard dance from Thriller. The game even allows players to create their own choreographies.

Michael Jackson: The Experience features 3 different difficulty settings, making the game both enjoyable and accessible to everyone. Although we haven’t got specific release dates as of yet, we do know that the game should be arriving sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to Matthew Reynolds over on the digitalspy.co.uk website, international product manager Guillaume Cada recently revealed that several songs will be available to download from the in-game store upon launch, including one of Michael’s iconic tracks.

However, he couldn’t be more specific as to how many tracks will be available on launch, as he said they are still unsure. Cada went on to say that if the first batch of DLC is successful from the start, then Ubisoft does have plans for even more downloadable content.

Downloadble content for the Xbox 360 version has not yet been confirmed. The Michael Jackson: The Experience game – which was already released for the Nintendo Wii, DS and PlayStation Portable last year – will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 this April.

Guillaume Cada also explained the reason behind the PlayStation 3 version of the game’s launch being delayed from November 2010 to April this year, which he stated was to allow the studio to use feedback from reviews of the Nintendo Wii version to improve on the PS3 version.

In fact, recent reports show that over 2 million copies of the music video game have now been sold worldwide.

According to a recent article written by Matthew Reynolds over at digitalspy.co.uk (sourced from Gamasutra), 90 percent of the sales recorded were just on the Nintendo Wii. Michael Jackson: The Experience was released on November 23rd, 2010 for the PSP, Wii and Nintendo DS.

There is also great news for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners who want to purchase the game, as Ubisoft has just announced that Michael Jackson: The Experience will be arriving for both consoles on April 12th and will have support for the Move and Kinect.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will also feature a couple of extra songs, such as “Blood on the Dancefloor” and “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.” The PlayStation 3 edition includes Facebook support, which will allow users to upload pictures onto their Facebook pages.

As Marko Djordjevic over at gamefocus.ca reports, the PlayStation 3 version will also feature microphone support, just in case you want to sing along to the tracks as well. Will you be buying the game for your PS3 or Xbox 360, or have you been put off by the bad reviews?

You will also remember that an iPhone app was also released, so you could annoy your friends all day long. However, Nintendo believes that they have come up with another idea for the Vuvuzela.

It is no secret that video game piracy is a big deal, and Nintendo has decided to try to put a stop to this, but not in the way you would imagine. Those of you who have an illegal copy of Michael Jackson: The Experience on the DS will not be able to hear any of the classic tracks.

Wired explains that the reason for this is because Ubisoft has managed to incorporate the annoying sound of vuvuzelas within the game. We know that this will be very annoying to the player, and will render the game useless – unless you just want to play it and not listen?

Nintendo Everything has a video of this anti-piracy technique in action, which you can see in the video below. They also wonder what other game developers will take up this unique way of reducing the about of games that fall victim to this issue?

You certainly have to admire Ubisoft for coming up with a solution to this problem – who would have thought that it could be so simple?

I tried to persuade her that this was a bad idea for two reasons; she never plays the games she has, and the fact that the game in question is poor.

I have not played the game for myself, but after reading a recent post of ours, its seems that this game might just be for MJ fans. Alan Ng reported that IGN only gave it 3.5/10 – now that’s shocking. We thought we would have a look at a few more reviews just to see if this was the consensus.

PC World has been more forgiving with the game, giving it four out of five stars. They loved the Michael Jackson choreography, and the fact that it was Ubisoft’s best dance game yet. However, what seems to let the game down is only having 26 tracks. Read the full review here.

Destructoid on the other hand seems to agree with IGN, having given the game just 5 out of 10. They seem to think that the game could have been so much more, saying that the Beatles: Rock Band, went out of their way to offer great content. Get the complete review here.

Eurogamer has also been generous with their review of Michael Jackson: The Experience, giving the game a 7 out of 10. They believe that Ubisoft could have given us more content, but at least it is still fun. Visit Eurogamer for the full review.

They have only scored the game a shocking 3.5/10, calling Ubisoft’s title a huge disappointment. They have just about criticized every aspect of the game, but main highlights include the poor interface, terrible control system, inconsistent instruction images and more.

The poor review from IGN probably won’t distract the hardcore MJ fans, but for those still sitting on the fence, it looks like your money may be best spent elsewhere. Here is IGN’s overall conclusion of the game, it’s pretty harsh –

”Michael Jackson: The Experience is a disappointment. If you want to dance to all his classics, don’t spend money on the game — buy his albums and throw a party instead.”

As reported from Nintendo-Universe, we can confirm that there will be a total of 26 songs in the game, and they include many of his hits from Jackson’s Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, Off the Wall and HIStory albums.

All your favorite Jacko tracks will be there, including some surprising choices as well, such as Streetwalker, Sunset Driver, Money and Speed Demon.

The game is due out on Tuesday November 23rd for the Nintendo Wii, but will also be releasing on the Xbox 360 and PS3 with Kinect and Move support sometime in 2011. Below is the full song list for the game, let us know if you’ll be picking this up or not.

If you grab a Wii copy marked “day-one” on the day of release (November 23d) you will get a free white sequined glove, similar to the one Michael started wearing in the early 80s.

From what we can see the Kinect version of the game will not be offering the same free glove, perhaps the Kinect version will come with the iconic black fedora hat which he wore throughout his career.

Gus Mastrapa of Wired.com is reporting that this is the first video for the new dancing game. The trailer sees people re-enacting the late Michael Jackson’s famous moves. Early 80s hit Billie Jean is the song playing while they attempt to copy the stars steps. This video gives the message that the king of pop made many people happy, and inspired them to recreate the moonwalk.

Ubisoft will be hoping that today’s youth will listen to music that isn’t sung by Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber. They do not always go for older music as The Beatles: Rock band wasn’t a major success selling only 1.7 million copies in its first four months. Michael Jackson: The Experience will surely be a massive hit though.

Today Ubisoft have added three new tracks to the list of songs which will be available in the game.

The latest tracks to be added were Black or White, Smooth Criminal, and They Don’t Care About Us. These new tracks will be making their debut at the Tokyo Game Show, which is taking place until the 19th of September. The Wii version of the game will be playable at the show.

The full list of tracks confirmed so far includes; Bad, Beat It, Billie Jean, Black or White, Earth Song, Smooth Criminal, The Girl Is Mine, They Don’t Care About Us, Who Is It, Workin’ Day And Night. The version for the Nintendo Wii and the PSP will be available on November 23 in North America and in Europe, Middle East and Asia on November 25. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will have to wait until early 2011.
