Two new modes have been added to make the game that much harder for players to beat – ‘Ranger Mode’ and ‘Ranger Hardcore’, in Ranger mode, your weapons can dish out a lot more damage than before, but your ammo will be reduced a lot, in Ranger Hardcore your HUD is removed.

The Ranger Pack will cost 240 Microsoft Points from the Xbox Live Marketplace, whereas Steam will provide the update automatically and for free for PC versions.

A recent note on Metro 2033′s Facebook page revealed that the DLC will be called the ‘Ranger Pack’, this pack is pretty extensive and consists of new weapons, game modes and achievements.

One of the new game modes is called ‘Ranger Mode’, this will apparently reduce ammo and make attacks more devastating, therefore you and your foes can execute the enemy much more quickly.

There is also a new game mode called ‘Ranger Hardcore’, this is similar to Ranger Mode, however is much more immersive as the HUD is completely removed.

As previously mentioned there will be new weapons, two infact, these are the Heavy Automatic Shotgun and the Volt Driver (Miller’s signature gun), these should help you complete new achievements which total up to 250 gamerscore points.

I must say this DLC does sound well-worth purchasing, when we find out details regarding pricing and a release date we will keep you posted, for more information check out Metro 2033′s Facebook.

The video comes to us courtesy of VG247, who have generously given us a slice of things to come in the full version.

If you didnt know already, the game is a combination of survival horror, FPS and RPG genres, and is based on a novel by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky.

The game lacks a multiplayer mode, but looks to make up for it with an excellent story campaign. Check out the video below and let us know if you’ll be picking the game up this week.

The games takes place in Moscow after a nuclear war – the human survivors live in a underground rail system under the old city, which we have to say looks very impressive.

The game sees you take the role of Artyom, who takes on a journey through the new underground city to try and save what you and the inhabitants have worked hard to build. The danger comes in the form of other underground settlements – whose sole aim is to destroy them.

Eurogamer has now had some time with Metro 2033 and they feel that the game has moments when it feels unpolished. We are not sure where they are going with this review though, as they then state that it is one of the best looking games on the Xbox 360.

As reported from VG247, THQ has listed the minimum, recommended and optimum requirements for the game.

For those of you looking to run the game on the lowest settings, you’ll need a Dual core CPU, be running DirectX 9 and a Shader Model 3 compliant graphics card (GeForce 8800, GeForce GT220 and above).

However, if you want the best experience possible, you’ll want to own a Core i7 CPU a NVIDIA DirectX 11 graphics card and around 8MB of RAM if possible.
