The Xbox 360 Kinect may already boast a number of fitness-related video games (including Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, EA Sports Active 2.0, Get Fit with Mel B and Zumba Fitness), but none of them sound as intriguing as the recently announced Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Adventure game, which is expected to launch sometime in November this year.

As James Newton over at kinectaku.com recently noted, the Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Adventure game doesn’t stick players in a gym setting like some fitness-related titles, instead it puts them through their paces in a brand new jungle temple environment. Rather than just simply working out, players are pitted against story-based challenges in order to progress.

If players perform well enough, they may even earn recognition from Jillian Michaels herself. This isn’t the first time that the personal trainer – best known for her appearances in The Biggest Loser and Losing It With Jillian – has appeared in a video game either. Back in 2008 she launched a video game for the Nintendo Wii named Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009.

A year later she released a sequel by the name of Fitness Ultimatum 2010. Michaels also appeared in The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout. The upcoming Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Adventure game for the Xbox 360 Kinect comes with multiple exercise modes including circuit training, individual fitness training and a fitness adventure mode.

The fitness adventure mode features parkour-style action, where players will be participating in both proactive and reactive running, climbing and jumping. Circuit training on the other hand comes with 10 exercise circuits that have been hand-selected by Jillian Michaels. The circuits come in three different difficulty levels, giving players the ability to customize their session.

Meanwhile, the individual fitness training offers players exercises of various difficulties, allowing them to workout at their own pace. The Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Adventure game also comes with training programs that will allow players to use fitness gear they may already have. They will also have the option of choosing exercises that use their own body weight.

The upcoming game also comes with social integration, so players can check out their own or their friends’ performances in the online leaderboards. Another good feature is stats, which enable users to keep track of their progress including what days they’ve worked out on, calories burned, number of circuits / exercises completed and even the amount of time spent exercising.

Does this sound like a fitness game you would buy?

If there’s one video game that has definitely showed us how much staying power it has recently, it has to be Zumba Fitness. Despite the fact that the hugely popular fitness game – which is available for the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 – has been on the market since November / December last year, it has still managed to top the UK Games Chart for the 3rd consecutive week.

The Pipeworks Software-developed Zumba Fitness game has achieved a total of 6 weeks at the top of the UK Games Chart and according to a recent article over on the train2game.com website; it has a good chance of holding the spot for a few more weeks. In fact, the game has managed to outsell the next four titles in the chart combined this past week, despite a five percent drop in sales.

Disney Interactive Studios’ ‘Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game’ has climbed up the charts to number 2 this week, knocking Rockstar Games hugely popular L.A. Noire game – which according to Matthew Reynolds at digitalspy.co.uk has come under fire recently for the developer’s ‘harmful’ working conditions – down to number 3. Last week’s new entry F.E.A.R. 3 was knocked down to No. 4.

We’re not sure whether it has anything to do with the fact that the Wimbledon 2011 tennis tournament is coming to the end of its second week, but we find that Sega’s Virtua Tennis 4 and 2K Sports / Take 2’s Top Spin 4 games have both stormed back into the charts this week. Top Spin 4 has jumped 2 spaces from number 10 to number 8, while Virtua Tennis 4 has risen all the way from No. 20 to No. 5.

Sandwiched between the two tennis games are the recently released Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which judging by some of the reviews hasn’t quite lived up to expectations, and Codemasters popular racing game DiRT 3 at numbers 6 and 7 respectively. Meanwhile, Splash Damage’s Brink game holds 9th place, and Electronic Arts’ FIFA 11 finishing off the UK Games Chart at number 10.

The only new entries to make the top 40 this week were Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and THQ’s UFC Personal Trainer, debuting at numbers 21 and 22 respectively. It may not be in the top 10, but the Call of Duty: Black Ops game is still hanging on in there at number 17 in the charts. You can read more about the UK Games Chart top 20 over at train2game.com.

Do you think Zumba Fitness should be at the top still, or would you have liked to have seen another game up there?

Ever wanted to get in the ring and wrestle with a living legend? Well if you own an Xbox 360 Kinect soon you will be able to with the new Hulk Hogan Main Event wrestling game that is due out in Autumn this year.

The game is exclusive to the Microsoft console and according to the man himself ‘You will feel the power of Hulkamania’ when playing this game. Developed by Panic Button Games, the game allows players to replicate the all-time great.

It features nine different locations in which players can perform combos, mimic Hogan’s popular poses and scrap it out. There are also customization options for characters and plenty of items and weapons to inflict some pain on the opponents.

According to the article at Eurogamer, Jesse Sutton, Majesco CEO thinks working with Hulk Hogan is a dream come true and can’t wait to release the motion-based game.
