When Apple announced the Magic Mouse last year we assumed that a trackpad like the one used on the MacBook Pro would have followed shortly after. However, we had to wait some time, but we were then treated to the Magic Trackpad, which we discussed in a recent article.

Like all devices for the Mac it is only available in aluminum that is until now. Thanks to ColorWare, they have done what they do best and offered us a range of customs colors for this wireless device.

For those who know all about ColorWare, who has already worked their magic on the new Xbox 360 S and the iPhone 4, you are presented with a 360 degree view to make certain that you get your color choices correct.

With these color choices you will now be able to match the Apple Magic trackpad to your own computer – ideal for all those who have modded their own PCs.

ColorWare Apple Magic TrackPad, what colors will you choose?

Apple has been looking for a device that would help to complement their range of touch devices, and believes that the Magic Trackpad is the perfect device for use with the Mac Mini, Mac Pro and iMac. Such a device is already on the market thanks to Wacom, but now it is Apple’s turn.

Joshua Topolsky from Engadget has now spent a few days with the Magic Trackpad and is able to offer a review, so what was the verdict? One of the first things that he points out is that it is no game changer, but what would expect from a device that has little to offer?

Apple did not have to work hard with the design of this device, all they had to do was take the trackpad from a MacBook Pro, make it bigger and then mount it on a smaller version of their Bluetooth keyboard. There is not much to look at; it is just a big pad with a one clickable button under the surface.

There are those who will just hate it, as they like the feel and control of a mouse in the palm of their hands, I was once like that but after a year with my MacBook Air I could not see myself ever going back. It is people like me that Apple aims to target, but as I do not use my Mac Mini that often, I will just put up with the Mighty Mouse for now, and this could be the same story for other users.

Topolsky points out that although the Magic Trackpad is a great design, it will be hard to persuade people to part with $69 for something that they just do not need. Read a complete review at Engadget.

We reported in an earlier post that Apple was to release a few more products to their lineup, we can now tell you that the store is now back up and one of the first devices is the Magic Trackpad. We had an idea that the Multi-Touch trackpad was coming, but did not realize that it would be this soon.

The small device will work with your Mac desktop computer and uses the same touch technology as your MacBook pro uses. You can use a complete set of gestures to command your computer, such as pinch and zoom, swiping through pages and scrolling.

The Apple Magic Trackpad connects to your Mac desktop via Bluetooth, just like the keyboard. You can see that Apple has designed the Trackpad to match the keyboard, and have to say that I like the design a lot. For more details visit the Apple Store

The price you pay is $69.00 and will ship within 24 hours. Will you use this in place of a mouse or in conjunction?
