Spore on Macbook’s before late 2007
According to Kotaku they say that Spore needs a pretty big system and that it is not the most resource intensive game around, I would have to agree with them
Personally Spore looks utterly boring but I might be wrong, anyway back to Spore being on older notebooks. Basically if you own an Apple Macbook that was made before late 2007 you will be pretty disappointed because Spores requirements will not be found on these particular notebooks.
Spore will not work with the Intel GMA 950 graphics hardware which is a pain because this is what Macbooks had until the end of 2007. You will be happy to know that the MacBook Pro has NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT and this means Spore will work fine.

MacBook need never be powerless thanks to Oncore Power

How frustrating it can be when you just about to leave the office to see a client to do a presentation, turn on your MacBook or iBook and damn you forgot to put it on charge, but if you were luckily enough to have invested in the new OnCore Power Charger and there you have six lovely fully charged batteries waiting for you.
Ok it doesn’t come cheap at $395 but a small price to pay if being powerless has a major affect on your work. These units are often sold to educational institutes and places where you may have one or my iBooks, but you can never say no to a fully charged battery.
It takes less than eight hours to recharge six empty batteries. The charger is compact and measures 11 inches by 7 inches and is white in design to follow the look of the iBook and MacBooks. One little snag the price of $395 is just for the charger, you will have to buy the batteries separately. Although it has been said you can purchase a “value power upgrade kit” that comes with six batteries but we have no report on the cost of this unit.
Toshiba Portégé M800: Like an Apple MacBook face

The Apple MacBook is one of the stylish laptops around and with many Apple products, they get copied. This is the Toshiba Portégé M800 and while it’s not a clone, you may think the MacBook has had a facelift.
The Toshiba M800 has a 13.3-inch screen and a glossy pearl-white finish - sound familiar?
The Portégé M800 features: an Intel Centrino 2 processor, Intel GMA graphics, a 1.3-megapixel camera, 320GB hard disk, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a DVD SuperMulti drive, Vista Home Premium and the 13.3 inch screen comes with WXGA TruBrite for a crystal clear display.
When you look at these features you would never expect the M800 laptop to cost just £749, but it does. Currently we have no date for launch and only know it’s in the third quarter of 2008.
Would you pay less for a laptop that looks like a MacBook with more features or do you like the real deal?
