Following on from the recent release of Apple’s new Macbook Air models, we are hearing reports that some users are experiencing some notable problems with their computers during usage.

According to this report from Apple Insider, user messages are now starting to mount up on the official Apple support boards, all of which are related to the company’s new 11-inch and 13-inch late 2010 Macbook Air models.

Problems listed include faulty logic boards, flickering display screens, kernal issues and even some reports of systems freezing up. It is important to note that Apple has already released a patch update for the new models shortly after release, but users are still complaining that their problems have not been solved.

Apple has yet to officially respond to the claims, but if they start becoming more apparent, then it is only a matter of time until they are forced to release another patch.

First of all, can any of you confirm that the problems listed above are happening on your new Macbook Air? This could help to determine whether this is a problem affecting all new Macbook Air models, or just an isolated issue affecting a small minority.

We’ll update you if we hear from Apple.

For those of you who are still looking for reviews for the recently announced new Macbook Air models, you’ll be pleased to know that Engadget has now completed their full review for the 13.3 and 11.6-inch units.

As expected, Engadget has found little fault with the new models, with one of their biggest criticisms only coming in the way of price, but consumers should be used to Apple’s premium prices now.

It is clear that the new Macbook Air models only appeal to consumers with a lot of cash to spend, as at a starting price of $999 for the new 11.6-inch model, it is not exactly cheap.

Back to their review though, and Engadget has praised the excellent battery life of both models, as they ran through a series of performance tests for both versions. The 11.6-inch Macbook Air managed almost 6 hours of medium usage (web browsing, flash video), while the 13.3-inch provided a very impressive 7.5 hours of usage.

That is obviously a major incentive to consumers looking to improve on the dismal 2 hour average battery life that other laptops seem to churn out at the moment.
