If you read the article in question you will know that it included Killzone 3, FINAL FANTASY VII and Toy Story costume packs, as well as an inFAMOUS 2 mini-pack and Toy Story level pack.

The only downloadable content packs that we unfortunately couldn’t give prices and release dates for at that stage were the Toy Story ones. That’s all changed now however, as Fred Dutton from eurogamer.net reports that the developer Media Molecule has just announced that the Toy Story DLC packs will be arriving this week. The new level kit – which costs £4.79/€5.99 – will be available to download from August 3rd.

Not only will the upcoming level kit provide players with 9 brand new Toy Story-themed levels (two cut scenes, two mini-levels and five levels), it also contains two new music tracks, 149 stickers, ten decorations, 6 objects, five materials, one new interactive music track and one brand new level background. The new Toy Story costume pack will be available to download the same day.

The costume pack – which is also priced up at £4.79/€5.99 – includes Rex claws, Rex body, Rex skin and Rex head; Buzz Lightyear gloves, helmet, body, teeth and legs; Hamm head, body and skin and Slinky Dog feet, hands, ears, nose, skin, tail and body. You also have the option of buying the individual character costume packs separately for £1.59/€1.99 each.

There’s been some great downloadable content released for the LittleBigPlanet series since the original game was first launched back in 2008. You can view all the available DLC – which includes a Tron: Evolution mini-pack, Cats costume pack, Heavy Rain costume kit, MotorStorm: Apocalypse mini-pack and a Marvel level kit – over on the official littlebigplanet.com website.

Will you be buying the Toy Story level kit or costume pack?

LittleBigPlanet 2: Sony announces new DLC costume packs http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/07/05/littlebigplanet-2-sony-announces-new-dlc-costume-packs/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/07/05/littlebigplanet-2-sony-announces-new-dlc-costume-packs/#comments Tue, 05 Jul 2011 11:36:35 +0000 Tina Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=136108 As if the hugely popular and critically-acclaimed LittleBigPlanet 2 game – which has received amazing review scores since it was released back in January this year (5/5 from X-Play, 9/10 from IGN and a Metacritic score of 92/100) – wasn’t big enough and exciting enough already, Sony Computer Entertainment has just announced details for several new DLC Costume packs.

According to Eric Levine (SCEA PR Manager) over on the blog.us.playstation.com website, the forthcoming downloadable content includes the FINAL FANTASY VII, inFAMOUS 2, Killzone 3 and Toy Story costume packs. The first DLC pack to be released this week is the inFAMOUS 2 mini-pack, which costs just $2.99 and includes costumes for Good Cole and Bad Cole, as well as a bunch of new stickers.

Those who would like to purchase the upcoming FINAL FANTASY VII pack will be pleased to know that it is due to arrive on the PlayStation Store on July 13th. This DLC pack will cost a little more at $5.99, but does include the Sephiroth, Cloud, Tifa and Aeris costumes, as well as a bonus Vincent costume. You do however have the option of buying the first four costumes individually for $1.99 each.

The Killzone 3 mini-pack on the other hand is due to arrive on July 20th, and will be priced up at $2.99. This pack not only provides players with the Hazmat Trooper and Rico costumes, it also contains new stickers. There will be a total of 3 new Toy Story DLC costume packs released (although we don’t know when at this stage), as well as a new level pack containing brand new Toy Story-themed levels for fans to play through.

In other news, LittleBigPlanet fans began voicing their concerns recently, after they discovered that the developer Media Molecule was planning on stepping away from the hugely popular franchise. While speaking with Edge Magazine at the 2011 GameLab Conference, executive producer Siobhan Reddy said that the developer is stepping away from LBP to concentrate on some new ideas.

As Jonathan Leack at playstationlifestyle.net notes, Media Molecule were quick to respond to the feedback from fans, by posting a message on their Twitter feed to reassure fans that they will always be involved with the LittleBigPlanet franchise. They also mentioned that a lot more fun is to be had with the game, which of course includes the much-anticipated PlayStation Move patch.

What do you think Media Molecule’s next project will be?

PSN Welcome Back Package: LittleBigPlanet and Infamous are Old Games Sony http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/05/17/psn-welcome-back-package-little-big-planet-and-infamous-are-old-games-sony/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/05/17/psn-welcome-back-package-little-big-planet-and-infamous-are-old-games-sony/#comments Tue, 17 May 2011 04:29:36 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=131103 As we told you earlier on today, Sony has now revealed the exact nature of their highly anticipated ‘Welcome Back’ package for PS3 users as a result of the PlayStation Network outage which lasted a month. PS3 gamers now know what games they will be getting free, but are you happy about it?

Just to recap, PS3 gamers will be offered a choice of two free games from inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Dead Nation, WipeOut HD or Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty. While it’s great that Sony has offered a choice from five PS3 titles, we have a feeling that many of you will complain that these are old titles, but more importantly, games in which most of you will already own, LittleBigPlanet and inFAMOUS especially.

If you feel this applies to you, the one saving grace that you have, is that you’ll still be able to download as much content as you want from PlayStation Plus as soon as Sony goes live with the free 30 day subscription, so there’s still a good chance that you’re going to be happy with Sony’s Welcome Back Package.

What are your thoughts on the games that they are offering? Are you a bit disappointed that these are generally old PS3 games, or games that you may already own? We’ll inform you when Sony releases their PSN+ subscriptions.

LittleBigPlanet 2 Review Roundup: Better Than Predecessor http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/01/18/littlebigplanet-2-review-roundup-better-than-predecessor/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/01/18/littlebigplanet-2-review-roundup-better-than-predecessor/#comments Mon, 17 Jan 2011 23:32:16 +0000 Peter Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=119009 While looking over a few reviews for LittleBigPlanet 2, it looks as though most are in agreeance, that it will be better than it’s predecessor. The game is a very important one for Sony, as it is the first major title in 2011 for the PS3, which we discussed in a recent article. So has LBP 2 lost any of its charm and fun factor?

1UP.com believes that the second outing for the franchise is a harder game to master, but they add, “The rewards are greater.” The review also goes on to explain that all the tools are there; it’s down to the user to use them all.

IGN also seems to be fans of LittleBigPlanet 2; they make no secret of the fact that they are fans, saying that the game is “Awesome.” IGN believes that the changes that have been made will make platform games the better for it. However, they are always objective and do point to a few small issues with the new game. The biggest issue seems to be with the story, as some will have trouble engaging with it.

GameSpot has given Sackboy’s sequel a 9.0 out of 10, and makes a bold statement when saying that it is a “giant leap forward for LittleBigPlanet.” However, they too point out some of the bad points as well, such as poor tutorials and confusing cooperative play.

I can say that I have never been a fan of the game, my cousin who is only a couple of years my junior loves the game – all down to personal taste and not age then I guess?

What expectations do you have for LittleBigPlanet 2?

LittleBigPlanet 2 More Important Than COD Black Ops http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/01/17/littlebigplanet-2-more-important-than-cod-black-ops/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/01/17/littlebigplanet-2-more-important-than-cod-black-ops/#comments Mon, 17 Jan 2011 11:32:01 +0000 Peter Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=119007 If we were to look back last year the most popular game for the Sony PS3 was Call of Duty Black Ops. This game was not the best in the series – I do not want to cause a debate – but there is no denying how popular the title was. However, there is another game that could be more important to the PlayStation than the FPS game above, and that is LittleBigPlanet 2. Early reviews suggest that this is an impressive follow up to the original.

Before you start to think that we have lost our minds here over at PR, just bare in mind that this is the first big game for the Sony console in 2011, and according to MMGN LBP 2 needs to be able to “Set the pace.” When we first saw the game at a Stuff event a few years back we did not think that it would ever catch on, but we were proven wrong.

We cannot take away the fact how popular COD Black Ops was and still is, but most young children with a PS3 will want LittleBigPlanet 2, and it is that what Sony has been counting on. Having said that, I know of a number of adults who also like the game, as it can become very changeling at times.

LBP 2 will be released this week, and according to Gamasutra there are also two other big titles coming as well, Mass Effect 2 and Mindjack. The website also list other games that are released this week on other platforms. Do you believe that LittleBigPlanet 2 is a more important game than Black Ops?

LittleBigPlanet 2 PS3: Worldwide Release Date Delayed http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/09/23/littlebigplanet-2-ps3-worldwide-release-date-delayed/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/09/23/littlebigplanet-2-ps3-worldwide-release-date-delayed/#comments Thu, 23 Sep 2010 14:38:18 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=109264 Up until today gamers have been under the impression that LittleBigPlanet 2 will arrive in January 2011, however the game’s developer has recently revealed that the release has been pushed back.

LittleBigPlanet 2′s team recently announced this on their official website, here they seemed very apologetic, however suggested that they need more time to make sure that gamers receive the best gaming experience imaginable.

No new release date was stated, however they did let slip that they are going to find a way to give gamers a taste of LittleBigPlanet 2 prior to launch, which in my opinion means they may either release a demo or beta.

The developers have stated that it won’t be long before the release, however what they class as not long and what you and me class as not long could be two completely different things.

Personally I think that this sort of delay is totally understandable and worth waiting for, let’s face it if the developers are not happy with the time they have to finalize the game, consumers probably wouldn’t be happy with the rushed release.

Are you frustrated by the delay?

LittleBigPlanet Marvel Costume Pack 4: Magneto http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/15/littlebigplanet-marvel-costume-pack-4-magneto/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/15/littlebigplanet-marvel-costume-pack-4-magneto/#comments Sun, 15 Aug 2010 07:38:21 +0000 Peter Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=106550 Those of you who love LittleBigPlanet and Marvel will be happy to know that the new Costume Pack 4 is now available to download. The new DLC now features Magneto from X-Men.

The other three packs have been a hit with Sony PS3 owners, so there is no reason why Magneto will not be well received? We wonder if you will be able to control metal like the villain can in the movies, cartoons and comics?

All five costume packs will be available on August 17, 2010, and the most pressing question from users has been – will these costume packs work on the upcoming LittleBigPlanet 2? The answer is yes.

For closer look at the Magneto costume from pictures to details visit Marvel.com.
