We have some really exciting news now for those of you that own a copy of Media Molecule’s hugely popular puzzle-platformer game LittleBigPlanet 2 (commonly abbreviated to LBP2), as we’ve just discovered that the upcoming PlayStation Move Pack DLC – said to be LittleBigPlanet’s biggest downloadable content pack so far – has now been detailed.

As noted over on the littlebigplanet.com website, the much-anticipated LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Pack – which is due to be released on September 9th – features a brand new story mode known as The Rise of the Cakeling. The new mode will have players trying to restore peace to Craftworld, after a rogue cake threatens it with doom and destruction.

However, players will also be provided with a brand new tool to make things a little easier. The tool in question is the Brain Crane, a new power-up that enables players to control objects with the power of their mind. Thanks to a new suite of creative tools, players will be able to create their very own PlayStation Move-enabled games.

The new ‘The Rise of the Cakeling’ story mode will provide LittleBigPlanet 2 players with five new levels, 7 new mini-games and two new cut-scenes. The DLC also includes three new gadgets for use with the PlayStation Move controller: The Paint Tool, The Move Recorder and The Movinator, 8 music sequencer tracks and four interactive music tracks.

That’s not all either, as the upcoming downloadable content pack also contains 18 materials, a new sound object containing 32 brand new sounds, a new level background, seventeen new music sequencer instruments, 41 decorations, 13 objects, six brand new costumes, 66 stickers, 39 new LittleBigPlanet pins and eleven new PlayStation 3 trophies to unlock.

You can also view screenshots, imagery and concept art for the upcoming Move Pack over on the littlebigplanet.com website. We’ve also embedded a video below this post, so you can see what’s involved in the LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Pack DLC. There is now word on how much this DLC pack will cost at this stage, but we will keep you updated if we hear anything.

Will you be downloading the LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Pack?

The much-anticipated LittleBigPlanet 2 finally made its way into stores worldwide recently, but it looks like its launch hasn’t gone as smoothly as Media Molecule had hoped. Since its release, many players have been reporting connecting problems when trying to play online.

As Adam Wolfe over at playstationlifestyle.net recently noted, you would have thought the developer would have learned their lesson, considering the same issue occurred with the first game. When trying to get online to play with friends, gamers are being met with a constant loading screen.

Some PlayStation 3 gamers were even left waiting for well over 10 minutes, meaning that it’s almost impossible to play any levels online. However, according to Media Molecule’s Twitter page, they have addressed the issue and are currently working on a fix.

The developer’s Twitter page also addressed another problem that some PS3 users appear to have been experiencing. “Big craft earth stuck in your Pod?” was the question Media Molecule asked, according to Fred Dutton over at eurogamer.net.

The way the developer said to get around the problem is to quit the game and log out of PSN. Once you have done that you have to restart the game and log back into your PSN account. Have you been experiencing any other problems with the LittleBigPlanet 2 game?

While looking over a few reviews for LittleBigPlanet 2, it looks as though most are in agreeance, that it will be better than it’s predecessor. The game is a very important one for Sony, as it is the first major title in 2011 for the PS3, which we discussed in a recent article. So has LBP 2 lost any of its charm and fun factor?

1UP.com believes that the second outing for the franchise is a harder game to master, but they add, “The rewards are greater.” The review also goes on to explain that all the tools are there; it’s down to the user to use them all.

IGN also seems to be fans of LittleBigPlanet 2; they make no secret of the fact that they are fans, saying that the game is “Awesome.” IGN believes that the changes that have been made will make platform games the better for it. However, they are always objective and do point to a few small issues with the new game. The biggest issue seems to be with the story, as some will have trouble engaging with it.

GameSpot has given Sackboy’s sequel a 9.0 out of 10, and makes a bold statement when saying that it is a “giant leap forward for LittleBigPlanet.” However, they too point out some of the bad points as well, such as poor tutorials and confusing cooperative play.

I can say that I have never been a fan of the game, my cousin who is only a couple of years my junior loves the game – all down to personal taste and not age then I guess?

What expectations do you have for LittleBigPlanet 2?

If we were to look back last year the most popular game for the Sony PS3 was Call of Duty Black Ops. This game was not the best in the series – I do not want to cause a debate – but there is no denying how popular the title was. However, there is another game that could be more important to the PlayStation than the FPS game above, and that is LittleBigPlanet 2. Early reviews suggest that this is an impressive follow up to the original.

Before you start to think that we have lost our minds here over at PR, just bare in mind that this is the first big game for the Sony console in 2011, and according to MMGN LBP 2 needs to be able to “Set the pace.” When we first saw the game at a Stuff event a few years back we did not think that it would ever catch on, but we were proven wrong.

We cannot take away the fact how popular COD Black Ops was and still is, but most young children with a PS3 will want LittleBigPlanet 2, and it is that what Sony has been counting on. Having said that, I know of a number of adults who also like the game, as it can become very changeling at times.

LBP 2 will be released this week, and according to Gamasutra there are also two other big titles coming as well, Mass Effect 2 and Mindjack. The website also list other games that are released this week on other platforms. Do you believe that LittleBigPlanet 2 is a more important game than Black Ops?

When the original LittleBigPlanet game first launched back in 2008, it received some pretty impressive reviews. In fact, both Edge and the Official UK PlayStation Magazine gave it a perfect score of 10 out of 10, while many others – such as GameSpot, Eurogamer and IGN – gave it 9.0 and above.

Now it appears that Media Molecule’s sequel, LittleBigPlanet 2, is heading in exactly the same direction. Although the game hasn’t quite made it onto the shelves yet, it hasn’t stopped the first few reviews being released and let’s just say they show some pretty impressive ratings.

The first review I come across is from Greg Miller over at uk.ps3.ign.com, who has given the game a really impressive 9.0 out of 10. Although he admits that the game does have a few nagging issues, Greg did continue on to say that it won’t actually ruin the LittleBigPlanet 2 experience at all.

While the story may not be as engaging as Greg had hoped, it appears that the exciting levels and the great gameplay kind of makes up for it. The next review I read is from Simon Parkin over at eurogamer.net, who also gave the game a score of 9.0 out of 10, describing the levels as exceptional.

Meanwhile, Nick Jones from ps3.nowgamer.com gave the LBP2 game a perfect score of 10/10. It’s the game’s new creation tools that seem to have impressed this reviewer. With so many new and game changing creation tools to choose from, Nick claims that you won’t know where to start.

The final review I came across – which gives LBP2 a rating of 9.4 out of 10 is on the computerandvideogames.com website. The story mode in this game is said to be more charming and better paced than the original, with no two levels forcing you to do the same thing.

You can read the full reviews via the links above. Let us know what you think of the game once you have purchased it and played it.

PlayStation 3 owners may have had to wait a little longer than expected for the upcoming release of the much-anticipated LittleBigPlanet 2 game, but the wait is almost over. If you haven’t actually pre-ordered a copy of the game yet, then you may like to know about the pre-order bonuses available.

As recently reported by George over at conflictinggamers.com, if you pre-order the Standard Edition of LittleBigPlanet 2 from the Amazon.com website ($57.99), you gain access to the Amazon exclusive “Ratchet & Clank” Sackboy outfits and the “Even More Animals” costumes.

Amazon is also offering a Collector’s Edition of LittleBigPlanet 2 for $79.99, although there doesn’t appear to be any pre-order bonus for this edition. Gamestop.com is also offering both the Standard and Collector’s Editions of the game, with prices of $59.99 and $79.99 respectively.

If you pre-order the game from GameStop, you receive a PlayStation Network voucher for the exclusive “Clu” Sackboy costume from Disney’s TRON: Legacy movie, and the “Even More Animals” costumes. You can also pre-order the Standard or Collector’s Editions from Walmart.com.

By pre-ordering the LittleBigPlanet 2 game from walmart.com, gamers will receive a PSN voucher for the exclusive “The Great Gonzo” Sackboy costume from The Muppets TV show. The Walmart pre-order bonus will also include the “Even More Animals” costumes.

Newegg.com may not be offering any bonus for pre-ordering the LittleBigPlanet 2 title, but it does appear to have the best deal at $56.96 for the Standard Edition. Have you pre-ordered your copy yet? If not, which retailer will you be pre-ordering the game from?

If you haven’t already had a chance to see the game in action, you may want to download the recently released demo.

LittleBigPlanet fans were given some rather disappointing news back in September of this year, regarding the unfortunate release date delay for the much-anticipated sequel, LittleBigPlanet 2. However, they then received news about a demo that was due to be released.

Well according to Paul Lamkin over at pocket-lint.com, the playable demo has arrived on the PS Store, and is available to download now. The demo may be a whopping 2GB, but it does provide users with three playable levels – Tower of Whoop, Avalon’s Advanced Armaments Academy and Rocket Funland.

Fans don’t have too much of a wait until the actual game is released either, as LittleBigPlanet 2 is scheduled to hit US stores on January 18th and UK stores on January 21st. If a recent post by Michael at mmomfg.com is anything to go by, fans of the first game will love the sequel.

Michael’s first impression of the LittleBigPlanet 2 demo is that the lighting and particle effects have been improved since the original game, and the sequel appears to be bigger and better than the first. Players will also have more customization options in LBP 2.

Have you downloaded the LittleBigPlanet 2 demo yet? If so, what are your first impressions?

Fans of the LittleBigPlanet game have been hearing quite a bit of news about its upcoming sequel Little BigPlanet 2 over the past few months, including new features and the disappointing news we brought you all about the exclusion of 3D support.

If you’re not happy with the amount of information you’ve already heard about the LBP 2 game, then you are in luck as the developer has decided to treat fans to a few more details. As Adam Wolfe reports at playstationlifestyle.net, Media Molecule has recently released a brand new trailer.

The trailer in question shows off the game’s brand new Music Sequencer feature, which allows gamers to create their very own music for each level. There are plenty of instruments to use as well and according to a post on the US PS Blog; players can even link in-game objects to their custom tunes.

You can view the trailer for the Music Sequencer below this post. What do you think of the new feature, and will you be buying the LittleBigPlanet 2 game?

The first LittleBigPlanet was a huge success for Sony, and with the sequel due for release in January Sony has come out with what could be some disappointing news for some fans.

Mike Jackson of CVG is reporting that Sony marketing manager Mark Valledor, said in a recent post on a PS Blog about the new game “Sorry, no 3D this time around.” The news may be surprising has Sony have been really pushing their 3D TV’s recently, and have the PS3 ready for 3D gaming.

This could mean that Sony have been concentrating on making LittleBigPlanet 2 a really good game, and not worrying about the extra work it would have taking by making it in 3D. There is some good news for fans of the game though, as a spin off game will be available later this week for PS Plus subscribers which will have Move support.

Are you disappointed that LittleBigPlanet 2 will not have 3D support?

Up until today gamers have been under the impression that LittleBigPlanet 2 will arrive in January 2011, however the game’s developer has recently revealed that the release has been pushed back.

LittleBigPlanet 2′s team recently announced this on their official website, here they seemed very apologetic, however suggested that they need more time to make sure that gamers receive the best gaming experience imaginable.

No new release date was stated, however they did let slip that they are going to find a way to give gamers a taste of LittleBigPlanet 2 prior to launch, which in my opinion means they may either release a demo or beta.

The developers have stated that it won’t be long before the release, however what they class as not long and what you and me class as not long could be two completely different things.

Personally I think that this sort of delay is totally understandable and worth waiting for, let’s face it if the developers are not happy with the time they have to finalize the game, consumers probably wouldn’t be happy with the rushed release.

Are you frustrated by the delay?
