Zelda: Skyward Sword release date info: No Wii U Launch

Last week during E3 2011 we was so busy covering all of the gaming news we were bound to miss out on some exciting information, today we will tell you about some of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword details which we forgot all about.

Any fan of Zelda who owns a Wii will be wondering when Skyword Sword will be released, sadly we don’t have an exact release date, however we can confirm that it will launch this holiday season.

It was also revealed that the MotionPlus controller will be used for Zelda’s sword, if you do not have a Wii MotionPlus controller a special Zelda controller is being released which had built-in MotionPlus, you can find out more about this controller here

Some people were wondering whether the game would also be coming out on the recently revealed Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime has refuted this by saying that “Skyward Sword was built to be played with a Wii controller”, which makes a lot of sense to us, you can find out a little more about this over at VG247.

Hopefully soon we will hear details regarding a solid Skyward Sword release date, when we do we will keep you informed.

The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Release Date Rumor

The Legend of Zelda series has been a huge success for Nintendo and it can be argued that it has stood by the side of Mario and Donkey Kong for a long time as the leading Nintendo ‘crowd-drawers’ so to speak. Alongside the new release in the series for the Nintendo 3DS we can now announce that there are rumors about the release date for the game coming to the Wii.

While there is not currently a lot of information floating about on the new game MyNintendoNews confirm that it will be called The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword and is rumored to be released in October this year due to a reference in the latest Official Nintendo Magazine.

The game has been announced for a while but there was never a word on the release date, obviously we mustn’t take this rumor to seriously just yet, however we very much doubt that the Official Nintendo Magazine would get something like this wrong.

Zelda Ocarina Of Time 3D, New Video Shows Opening Visuals

For fans of the original Zelda game Ocarina of Time, released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, you should have probably heard by now that the re-release is coming for the new Nintendo 3DS games. Recently a video was revealed (that can be seen below) with the new title sequence that has been remade for the 3DS.

The video should certainly bring back feelings of nostalgia for the players that were great fans of the original game and it should make people happy to see the same opening sequence once again. Aside from the obvious sequence being a returning memory and reminder to old gamers, it certainly makes for a good way to see how the game will look on Nintendo’s latest handheld.

The graphics are heart warming as they still keep the game’s classic atmosphere and mood which is what made Ocarina of Time so special, it still remains to be the old game that we know and love, just pleasantly revitalised and launched onto a new platform for newer and younger gamers to play on and create memories of their own.

We are eager to see more clips from different parts of the game at E3 2011 just prior to the game’s June 19 release date. Check out the video for yourself below, does it bring back fond memories?
