An article on Guardian.co.uk is reporting that Team Bondi responsible for LA Noire have entered administration, and comes after only one game in the last six years. The developer that is based in Sydney Australia, appointed administrators according to a filing lodged with the Australian Securities and Exchange Commission.

The games firm has been plagued with rumors and speculation of poor working practices and substandard management for ages now, which started as the game was first released back in May. The 1940s detective crime thriller is still getting critical praise, and selling well.

Unfortunately the time it took for the Team Bondi to release the game, there were rumors and claims from unhappy employees that prompted an investigation by the International Game Developers Association.

Previously the company broke away from Rockstar, which was the New York company responsible for publishing LA Noire. Many wondered if Team Bondi could continue to trade following the split, and was rumored to be selling off many of its assets and intellectual property to another studio, KMM Games.

Some of Team Bondi’s leading developers have already moved to KMM Games, and includes founder Brendan McNamara. The PC version that is thought to be coming later this year is thought to be owned by Rockstar.

It is rumored that Team Bondi will be holding a creditors meeting today in Sydney, and both Rockstar and Team Bondi have so far not commented about the news. Are you surprised Team Bondi has gone under?

The update aims to fix up some of those problems you have been having with the game, this includes various bugs hidden in the game and also issues related to graphics which a lot of you have been complaining about.

The official Rockstar blog doesn’t mention anything about specifically fixing freezing problems which is also happening in the game, but we’re hoping that the 1.00 update also addresses this issue as well, as there’s nothing worse than your game freeze when you haven’t saved your progress or have managed to get part a difficult section in the game.

The update is available now on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms, and you can install it the next time you boot up the game. For those of you that have already installed the 1.00 update, let us know if you are still having any problems with the game or not.

The developer must now be accepting this, as they are now advising players who are experiencing this issue to delete the game data. They warn not to clear your save data and to just clean your cache on your Xbox 360 console. Do not start to panic, as this is only affecting a small percentage of PS3 and Xbox 360 users. However, it does seem funny that the issue is only affecting those with the older fatter consoles.

Rockstar has had an FAQ for the LA Noire problem for a couple of days now, but has since updated the page. They offer six pieces of advice, so you should go through each one to try to get to the root of the problem.

We have already covered the first tip; the second is to create a temporary PS3 user or an offline Silver Gamertag for the Xbox 360. The third thing is to then launch the game and try again. Failing that you should check your game disc for possible scratches. Another piece of advice is to try a few other games in the console to see if this is doing the same thing as LA Noire. Finally this only applies if you have access to another console; try your game in a different machine.

The developer is determined to get to the bottom of the freezing and crashing problem, so they have asked for you to save your L.A. Noire files onto a USB flash drive. Then compress the folder on a PC and name it “PS3”; attach the file when you “Submit a Request” and Rockstar will see if they can figure out what the problem is.

It seems that the consoles have been overheating while playing LA Noire, but that is just a coincidence. We cannot say for certain how true this is, but this is what Rockstar would have us believe. The developer had posted a statement on their forums, but has since retracted it.

In that statement it basically said that some of the older fat 60GB and 80GB PS3s were shutting down after bleeping three times. Kotaku says that there have been reports that this has been happening on other games as well – so there could be some truth to this after all?

There have been cases where games have been freezing, to a total shutdown. This is yet another headache for Sony, as they are still trying to get over the recent hacking issue. So not only have they got to sort out their website to change PSN passwords, they might now have to push forward with another PS3 firmware update.
