The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of L.A. Noire received great receptions, however PC gamers have not yet had a chance to get some hands-on times with Rockstar’s crime-based game, well we now know when the PC reelase will come and what technical specifications your PC will need – interestingly the PC version of the game is called L.A. Noire Complete Edition.

Let’s start with the release date, it will arrive in North America on November 8th for around $49.99, if you live in Europe you will have to wait until November 11th and you will have to pay €49.99 / £39.99. We can also confirm that L.A. Noire is coming to OnLive.

In terms of technical specifications you will need to be running Windows 7, Windows Vista (SP1) or Windows XP (SP3) with an Intel Dual Core 2.2GHz / AMD Dual Core 2.4Ghz or better CPU, at least 2GB of RAM, 16GB of free hard drive space, a DirectX 9 compatible sound card, a DVD drive and a beefy video card. We are told that anything from NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1536MB is supported, alternatively you could run it with a Radeon HD 3000 512MB GPU, up to the Radeon HD 6850 1024MB.

Obviously future graphics cards will be supported and the better your graphics card the better visuals you can expect to see – currently it is unclear what will max out its visuals, so we will have to keep you posted if and when we hear more information on this. One thing which we can confirm is the fact that there is NVIDIA 3D Vision support.

The Complete Edition name is quite apt, this is because it comes with access codes for all of the game’s DLC, this means you won’t have to fork out extra for the “Nicholson Electroplating”, “Reefer Madness”, “The Consul’s Car”, “The Naked City” or “A Slip of the Tongue” DLC – we’re not sure about other sidequests which PS3 and 360 gamers have seen.

Will you buy L.A. Noire Complete Edition?

As games consoles become more powerful, so too do the video games. Until recently this was inevitably the case; however issues have aroused over the size of the games that have been developed as they try to maximize their potential. Today we have news that developers of the upcoming game Doom 4 are experiencing these issues just as Rockstar Games and Team Bondi did with L.A Noire.

Hooked Gamers originally reported this morning that the game would be too large to fit onto a single Blu-ray disc, since then they have explained that there was mistake made in the translation from their source and later updated to report that Doom 4 is shaping up to include more content on the PlayStation 3 than on the Xbox 360, due to the size issues.

We previously brought you news that L.A Noire developers were forced to cut some of the final build of their game as it would not have fit onto one Blu-Ray disc. Today’s news comes from an interview with John Cormack at Quakecon where, in response to the question whether Doom 4 would feature the same updated graphics that the Rage PC demo featured, he explained that they were not sure how much data the final build of the games would take up. He also suggested that there may be a wait for the next-gen consoles if the build ends up being too big as they will use larger storage discs.

According to Hooked Gamers, in the same interview Cormack also revealed that he intends to make a Rage 2. The first Rage game is expected to be gracing the markets October 4th and PC gamers can expect a Super Texture pack, which adds enhanced graphics not long after.

Are you hoping to see Doom 4 soon or would you rather the developers wait for the next-gen consoles?

The build up to one of the most anticipated games that is set to release soon is just beginning to get exciting. That game is Grand Theft Auto V, which is promising to be one of the bestselling games of the year when it releases. If it’s anything like its predecessor, GTA IV, Rockstar Games can consider themselves in with a least a chance of it getting game of the year too.

Those of you that have played the games that Rockstar has been a part of since they released GTA IV, will be well aware of the kind of standard we can expect from the next GTA installment. Their old Wild West adaptation, Red Dead Redemption was a massive hit when it released and their latest game L.A Noire has dominated the games charts in the U.S since it released in May.

It is from the latter title that gamers would have gained the best idea of what to expect from GTA V. One of the most distinctive features about L.A Noire was the Motion Scan technology that Team Bondi used. The advanced effects allowed for the expressions and emotions of the characters to be portrayed very accurately to real life.

Today we have news that Rockstar are considering using this technology in the new GTA title as well as all future titles they are involved with. According to PlayStation Universe, the news was announced by Brendon McNamara who is a co-founder of Team Bondi, while talking to PSM3. He said ‘Obviously we’d like them to, and they’re more than welcome to use MotionScan.’

McNamara also reportedly thinks the technology will bring a ‘level of humanity’ which gamers will appreciate as they will be able to relate to the characters quicker. One problem that the company may find they have a real issue with could be the size of the game. As we explained in an earlier article, Bondi were forced to cut down the final length of L.A Noire in order to fit it all onto one Blu-ray disc. This was largely due to the MotionScan technology.

The GTA series are already notoriously large games, with the realistically detailed maps and the large cast of characters involved. Adding this sort of graphical detail of course will make the game even better, but could also lead to it being too big. If they do end up using the tech, which I personally hope they do, the game could end up featuring on more than one disc. What do you think of the MotionScan technology used in L.A Noire? Would you like to see it used in GTA V, if so would you mind if the game was on more than one disc?

If you thought L.A Noire was a long game then think again as it was actually shortened before the final cut was produced, meaning it was in fact intended to be even longer. That’s right; the news comes as Team Bondi has been discussing how they were forced to cut two whole desks in order to fit the game, which already took up three DVDs on the Xbox 360, onto one Blu-ray disc for the PlayStation 3.

The desks were the different departments that players were promoted to once they had been successful for each case, for example Traffic. The two desks which Team Bondi were forced to cut were Burglary, which consisted of robbed houses and muggings and Bunko which is another word for fraud.

According to CVG Brendon McNamara, Team Bondi co-founder, told PSM3 the two desks which did not make the final cut were that close to doing so that they had actually designed 11 cases for Burglary and had begun developing them to the extent of artwork and writing, but they would have just pushed the overall size of the game over the limit for one Blu-ray.

One of the main reasons that the game was so large to start with was down to its advanced face capturing MotionScan technology. It was used throughout the game as a main feature and played a vital role in the way players were able to conduct interviews. The tech was so accurate that players could tell if suspects were telling the truth or not just from their facial expressions, something we hadn’t really seen before.

Not only were the extra cases cut but the developers were also unable to include the ability to fail missions, which is why you are forced to just try again when you don’t find the correct suspect. The original plan was once a case was failed, players were forced to take care of petty crimes such as muggings and car chases before they were allowed to continue a major desk case again. There is a fair amount of extra content for L.A Noire that players are able to experience from DLC packs, though strangely none of the extra content includes either of those desks.

Obviously the final cut has not disappointed however, despite being a lot shorter, it has still managed to shift a total of 1.32 million copies in the U.S since its launch in May, making it the bestselling game for the last two months. Are you glad the cut fit one Blu-ray or would you have preferred a longer game? Do you think the cut content should be made available via a DLC?

Just last week we announced that L.A. Noire’s much-anticipated Rockstar Pass had arrived and was ready to download. We also mentioned that the Rockstar Pass would provide gamers with access to 7 pieces of previously released DLC, as well as future downloadable content.

As we mentioned in the article, one piece of upcoming DLC was the ‘Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case,’ which is scheduled to be released on June 21st. Kev J. from electronictheatre.co.uk reports that the very first screenshots for the upcoming DLC have now been released.

The ‘Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case’ DLC sees Arson desk detectives Phelps and Biggs called upon to investigate a devastating explosion. The downloadable content will be available for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, priced at $3.99 and 320 Microsoft Points respectively.

Fans won’t have to wait too long until more DLC is release either, as the Reefer Madness Vice Case DLC is due to be launched on July 12th. Have you been taking advantage of the recently released Rockstar Pass? Will you be buying the Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case DLC?

We’ve wrote many articles about the hugely popular L.A. Noire game now and although I fancy playing the game myself, I haven’t quite got around to buying it yet.

We have some rather exciting news now for those of you that went out and purchased the hugely popular L.A. Noire game a couple of weeks ago, as we’ve just heard that the much-anticipated Rockstar Pass has now arrived and is all ready to be downloaded.

Up until now Rockstar Games has kept rather tight-lipped about the Rockstar Pass, which as Tamoor Hussain over at computerandvideogames.com recently noted, provides players with access to 7 different pieces of newly released downloadable content, as well as forthcoming DLC.

Gamers in Europe and North America are able to purchase the Rockstar Pass as from today and for a limited amount of time, they will be able to get it for 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 and $10.00 on the PlayStation 3. After the limited period, the Pass will be 960 MS Points / $12.00.

Once gamers have purchased the Rockstar Pass, it enables them to download all the previously announced DLC for free. This includes two detective suits, four unique cases – which will include both PlayStation 3 trophies and Xbox 360 achievements – and a collectible challenge.

Both The Badge Pursuit Challenge ($2.00 / 160 Microsoft Points) and the Broderick / Sharpshooter detective suits ($1.00 / 80 Microsoft Points) are available as from today, as are the Naked City Vice Case and the Slip of the Tongue Traffic Case ($4.00 / 320 Microsoft Points).

Two new cases will also be available in the future: the Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case, which is due to arrive on June 21st and the Reefer Madness Vice Case, which should be released on July 12th. You can read more about the DLC and Rockstar Pass via the CVG website.

Tonight at midnight some stores in the UK will be selling L.A. Noire, this highly anticipated Rockstar title will be very popular with the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption fans amongst us, therefore we expect it to sell very well.

Today we have heard that Tesco stores in the United Kingdom will sell you L.A. Noire for just £25 when bought with any other chart title, obviously this isn’t an amazing offer, however good for any of you who have been thinking about buying another recent release. One recently released game which some of you might want to consider is Brink.

We found out about the offer thanks to a recent article posted on XG247, on their site they show us a scan of the leaflet which shows this deal, it confirms that deal is available for both Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers.

If you check out our previous post you will see that early critic reviews have certainly showed promise, IGN scored it 8.5/10, VideoGamer scored it a perfect 10/10, NowGamer scored it 9.3/10 and EuroGamer scored it 8/10. We think that all of these critics are usually pretty much spot on so highly recommend L.A. Noire, especially if you enjoy previous Rockstar Games titles.

Will you queue for L.A. Noire at midnight tonight?

Earlier on today we provided you with 5 crucial tips for the highly anticipated L.A. Noire game, ahead of tomorrow’s North American release. Now we have a bit more L.A. Noire –related news, only this time it’s regarding the early reviews that have now started surfacing online.

Although there are quite a few reviews available, we thought we would just take a look at just four of them. With that in mind, here is our review round up before release. The first review comes from Oli Welsh over on the eurogamer.net website, who gave the L.A. Noire game an overall score of 8/10.

As this reviewer notes, the L.A. Noire game has players cracking a total of 21 cases in succession, with many of them lasting for around 40 minutes to an hour. Oli says that although the gunplay does have some awkward controls, they are excused by the Call of Duty-style snap aim.

Next up is a review from Adam Barnes over at nowgamer.com, who gave the game an impressive overall rating of 9.3/10. The most impressive feature of the L.A. Noire game in Adam’s opinion is its skilful direction. Adam says that the game may not be perfect, but it is a breath of fresh air.

Now we move on to a review from Neon Kelly at videogamer.com. Neon gave the upcoming L.A. Noire title perfect score of 10/10, describing it as a masterpiece. One point that this reviewer made is the fact that the game’s frame rate does dip a little, although the game still looks incredible.

The final review is from Hilary Goldstein over on the ign.com website. Hilary’s overall score for L.A. Noire was 8.5 of 10. This reviewer said that although the game has great performances, a good soundtrack and some killer dialogue, it did unfortunately leave them a bit cold.

You can read what else these reviews had to say via the links provided above. Are you getting the L.A. Noire game?

The launch of Rockstar Games and Team Bondi’s highly anticipated L.A. Noire game is almost upon us now and while some of you may be experienced in playing open world-style games such as Grand Theft Auto, others might be new to this type of game and need a little help along the way.

If you fall in the latter category, then we have great news for you. As noted over at ign.com, Alex Carlyle – the developer’s Lead Designer – has kindly revealed 5 crucial tips that will help gamers along the way. For example, the Notebook is Cole Phelps’ most useful weapon when solving crimes in L.A. Noire.

Phelps’ Notebook provides gamers with all the information they need to get through the game. It not only tells you where to go and whom you have and haven’t questioned, but it will also tell you what you have found. If you are ever in doubt about what to do, just review your Case Objectives.

Players are able to tailor their gaming experience at any stage during the L.A. Noire game. The game features a number of underlying systems that aid the player including music that indicates when all the clues have been found or sounds that suggest the proximity to a clue.

However, a lot of these options can be turned off if you’d rather it be a little more challenging. Another handy tip is to use your Intuition wisely. According to Alex, players should always make sure they have enough Intuition to get them through the more challenging parts of the L.A. Noire game.

You can read what other tips Alex provided via the IGN website. Will you be picking up a copy of the L.A. Noire game this week?

Team Bondi and Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire game – which is due to arrive in stores next week – has to be one of the most anticipated video games of this year. Just this morning we brought you an article about its launch trailer, and now we have some more interesting news.

It looks like those who buy the upcoming L.A. Noire game could be hearing news about downloadable content or even an expansion pack in the future. As Thierry Nguyen at 1up.com recently noted, Team Bondi founder Brendan McNamara appears to have dropped hints at possible DLC.

During a recent interview with McNamara, the L.A. Noire creator revealed that the studio has got two full desks: burglary and bunko (fraud) that never actually made it into the final game. He then went on to say that they have been thinking about whether they will do them or not.

Bearing in mind that each ‘desk’ in the L.A. Noire game consists of multiple cases, we could be looking at something like Red Dead Redemption’s ‘Undead Nightmare’ expansion. However, McNamara also revealed that the studio is also working on a brand new project idea.

Would you like to see the two new desks arrive as DLC or an expansion pack?
