If you’re looking for a new high-end music system to play all your favorite tunes on, look no further as Klipsch has announced their latest product for your iDevices the Gallery G-17 Air soundbar. It is compatible with iPads, iPhones and iPods as it features Apple’s revolutionary AirPlay function.

For those of you aren’t familiar with AirPlay, it is a feature that allows the wireless streaming of music throughout the whole household over an existing Wi-Fi network. The technology has found itself being featured in many systems nowadays from AV receivers to speaker docks. It is simple to use, using your iDevice you can access your entire iTunes library anytime anyplace.

As for the new Klipsch product, it may look like an enlarged Xbox 3360 Kinect peripheral but the Gallery G-17 Air actually one of the smallest of the range of AirPlay enabled speakers from the audio technology company. Just because it is small, does not mean it is not very powerful however. The price also suggests otherwise as it will set you back $530 when it finally launches this fall.

The cash that you will have to part hands with in order to purchase such a high-quality product gets you a high gloss black finished device that measures 6” in height x 16” wide x 3.5” deep. In case space is an issue in the household, the Gallery G-17 Air can be mounted to a wall but also comes with a platform base that it can sit upon, made from a sleek tempered glass with a similar finish.

It is a bi-amplified stereo unit which powers four drivers individually including two 2.5” 20W woofers and two Tractix-horned .75” 10 Watt tweeters. The aim of this is to ensure that the full-range of sound can be obtained when in use. While is it designed with AirPlay it also comes with a 3.5mm input and USB ports enabling you to charge your device via the unit or plug your music playing device into the system directly.

It features a remote control, power and playback buttons and a magnetic ultra-svelte grill-cloth which attaches to the front of the unit. You can check out the Gallery G-17 Air when you visit the official Klipsch website by clicking the link above. There you will find a full list of specs, pictures of the music system as well as the full range of AirPlay enabled systems from the company. Would you be willing to pay these sorts of prices for high-end AirPlay enabled systems?

Klipsch are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high quality speakers. We recently brought you news of the company being bought out by Audiovox. Today we bring you news that the Alienware M17x 3D laptop will feature speakers from Klipsch.

Although Klipsch speakers tend to be aimed at the higher priced buyers, Alienware are also responsible for some of the most expensive notebooks out there so the target market won’t change that much. Adding high-end speakers to match the high-end hardware that the company normally features in their notebooks, makes sense to me.

Also with the M17x being the world’s first 3D notebook adding a superior sound quality would make up for an area that is normally lacking when it comes to portable computers such as these. This comes from an article at Klipsch.com where they say the company is no stranger to the gaming industry having provided THX certified sound to it for nearly ten years.

The Alienware notebook is available this month and will cost $1499. For more details about the Klipsch speakers being included in the computer check out the full article at the link above.

What do you think of this news? Are Klipsch speakers something you would have wanted in a notebook of this quality? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

For those of you that like to stay up to date with speakers and other audio equipment alike, we have got some exciting news. You may have heard of Klipsch, considering they are world famous as a company that makes high-end audiophile speakers both commercially and domestically for music fans and home theater entertainment.

Last month Audiovox, who are famous for in-car media installation and are responsible for the first car Blu-ray player, signed an agreement with Klipsch that would entitle them to Klipsch and all its subsidiaries.

As Slashgear reports, Audiovox were to spend $166 million on the deal, and now the deal has indeed been sealed for that price, seemingly benefitting both parties. Klipsch is expected to make $170 million in sales by the beginning of 2012 and Audiovox cash flow will benefit immediately from the purchase.

Together both companies are reportedly now worth in the region of $730 million. Klipsch is now owned by Audiovox but will be still run as Klipsch store. CEO and President of Audiovox Patrick Lavelle has said they are delighted with the acquisition as they not only will benefit from ‘world-class brands’ but also have number one spots in the U.S market as well as being know across other regions.

To find out what else was said check out the Slashgear link above. What do you think to this new coalition? Do you use Klipsch equipment, if so what do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
