Killzone 3: Sneak peek trailers of new ‘From the Ashes’ DLC

It’s been a couple of months now since Killzone fans have been treated to some new downloadable content for the hugely popular Killzone 3 game, so they may be pleased to know that a third DLC pack entitled ‘From the Ashes’ is heading to the PlayStation Store next week.

What’s even more exciting is the fact that the developer Guerilla Games has just released sneak peek trailers for the upcoming ‘From the Ashes’ DLC. As Aryeh Loeb – producer at Guerilla Games – noted over on blog.eu.playstation.com, the pack contains a total of four new maps.

This includes two Warzone maps and two Guerilla Warfare maps. However, the developer has only released preview trailers – which can be viewed below this post – of two of the upcoming multiplayer maps. The first video gives us a sneak peek at the Lente Missile Base map.

Lente Missile Base is a Warzone map that takes place inside an abandoned missile base located at the edge of the Kaznan Jungle, and supports up to 24 players. Meanwhile, the second video gives us a glimpse at Mobile Factory, a Guerilla Warfare map for up to 16 players.

The ‘From the Ashes’ DLC pack is priced up at £3.99 / €4.99, and will be available to purchase as from June 22nd. Guerilla Games will also be releasing a DLC Bundle Pack, which bundles together all three DLC packs including Retro, Steel Rain and From the Ashes. This can be yours for £7.99 / €9.99.

Killzone 3 Update, Patch 1.0.7 List of Changes and Launch Date

For those of you that checked in to see our post on the preliminary notes to Killzone 3‘s patch 1.07, you will be excited to find out that the full list of changes have been announced officially from the Killzone 3 site and also we can tell you when the patch will come into play.

The patch will make some changes which mean that gamers will enjoy a whole list of gameplay fixes that eliminate the bugs that previously caused a few annoyances in the game. The game should also function better for some online modes and for you glitchers out there that love annoying casual gamers by jumping out of the level, you may find that some areas have been changed such as the Kaznan Jungle tree glitch.

Perhaps the most advantageous of all the changes for gamers are the improvements to the functionality of the online modes. Guerrilla Games‘ developers have made an effort in fixing some of the problems that gamers had when trying to join a warzone game and had there game crash. Similar changes mean that online gameplay should no longer be dysfunctional and should make all Killzone 3 owners a lot happier with their game.

Killzone 3 Video Walkthrough: Covers all the Chapters

Killzone 3 has now been released and recieved a great reception from gamers and critics alike. The game features an extensive campaign to keep gamers occupied for hours, however as with every game, there may be areas where gamers can become stuck, here at Product Reviews we have found a great link to Eurogamer’s site which contains some great walkthrough videos for the game to help you out.

It doesn’t matter if you use these videos for a certain gap in your campaign or just to trawl through each chapter with guidance, the videos are detailed and offer live gameplay help which enable you to copy the actions on-screen to get see the right way to complete a chapter.

The videos are especially handy for the gamers who like to be boastfull about their game’s progress and trophy record. There should not be any gaps in your game as these videos cover all nine chapters which means you should be able to progress through the game with ease.

For some people it will be a case of frequent reference to these videos and other gamers may choose differently in order to take on the challenge of the campaign. Do you think the walkthrough’s will help you or will they ruin the game?

Killzone 3 Leaked Online Way Before Release Date

You may have read our article yesterday where reported that a leaked version of Crysis 2 had made its way on to torrent sites, now we can confirm that Killzone 3 has also leaked, this comes nine days before the game’s North American release date.

According to GameInformer you can download the 3D and non-3D versions of the game from quite a few torrent sites, the standard version of the game is a 22.3GB download, whereas the 3D version is a whopping 41.40GB in size.

Obviously we do not condone piracy and have to warn you that Sony may take some sort of action against those of you who play the leaked version of the game, instead you should wait until the games official release date on February 22nd (North America), 23rd (Europe) 25th (UK).

Comments on a certain well known torrent site suggest that the leaked version of the game works fine and can be burned to Blu-ray or played from the PS3′s internal hardrive (obviously if it has been modded), however if you are using Multiman 1.15.04 you may experience problems with sound, cutscenes, load times and stuttering.

We would strongly advise against downloading the game and wait until the game’s proper release, if not you are breaking the law and possibly playing an unfinished version of the game, which could be less impressive than the Guerrilla Games’ final product.

Sony NGP (PSP2): Killzone Gameplay Screenshot / Trailer

If you’ve been following all the recent news regarding the recently announced Sony NGP (PSP2), you may have read our previous article that provided details of the games that have been revealed so far. If that is the case, you will know that one of the titles included in the list was Killzone.

Although we haven’t really heard many details about the upcoming NGP edition of the Killzone game – which according to Darryl at gamingunion.net is being developed by Sony Cambridge – since the initial announcement, we do have news regarding a gameplay screenshot and a recent trailer.

As Debabrata Nath over on the gamingbolt.com website notes, the visuals displayed in the Killzone NGP screenshot look pretty impressive. The Sony Next Generation Portable is slated for a “fall 2011” release, and we assume that the Killzone game will be launching alongside it.

The screenshot doesn’t appear to be the only footage of the Killzone NGP game in action either. According to a previous article by Tom Pakinkis over at computerandvideogames.com, a trailer has also been released. The trailer gives us a glimpse at Killzone, LittleBigPlanet and Resistance.

PS3 Killzone 3 Review: First Impressions

For those of you who have been dying to know what Killzone 3 is going to be like, whether it will be as good as its prequel Killzone 2 or just if the game is worth getting, we have a roundup of reviews from some of the best gaming sites around. We’ve previously covered the hype about how powerful the PS3 is and how glorious the visuals are going to be, knowing that Killzone 3 utilizes 100% of this power. Well now you can find out exactly what gamers’ first impressions are. As the game isn’t being released to the general public for a few weeks yet, maybe these reviews can help in the decision of whether to purchase the game or not.

IGN are describing it as a ‘first-person experience’ rather than your everyday straight, first-person shooter. They say you feel like you are the person rather than just someone controlling it. Giving it a rating of 8.5 out of 10, they are seemingly satisfied with the entire game. Their full review can be read on their website IGN.com.

Videogamer on the other hand were a little harsher when it came to their final rating. They say that the graphics are the best we’ve ever seen but in comparison to other PS3 exclusives like Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2, the rest of the game ‘lacks heart.’ They gave it 7 out of 10. From these reviews we can be certain that we won’t be disappointed with the overall realism and the stunning graphics. If you’re still undecided about the game but can’t wait then maybe you should judge for yourself, with the demo coming soon.

Killzone 3 Single-player Demo: PS3 Release Date

If you cannot wait until Killzone 3‘s release on February 25th we have some great news for you, a single-player demo of the game is headed to the PlayStation Network, this demo supports PlayStation Move and there will be two versions to download, one in 2D and one in 3D.

All PSN gamers will be able to get their hands-on the single-player demo from February 16th, however if you are a PlayStation Plus member you can get the demo a week early, which means it will become available on February 9th.

The demo allows you to play a level which occurs halfway through the game’s campaign, this level is called Icy Incursion and if you are playing the 2D version you will be able to team up with a friend and play split-screen co-op.

One Eurogamer reader suggests that this will be the first real test for the PlayStation Move controller, if the Move offers a rich experience with this first-person shooter there is no reason why it cannot be a success with games like Black Ops.

Other details are still scarce at present, however with PlayStation Plus members having to wait just 13 days for the demo to arrive I am sure we will find out a lot more about the demo pretty soon, the question is: Will you upgrade to PlayStation Plus for early access to the Killzone 3 single-player demo?

Killzone 3: What Weapon / Gun Peripheral Do You Want?

Killzone 3 will be different to previous version of the game, as the latest incarnation will offer PlayStation Move support. This means that you will be able to use a weapon peripheral, but what one would you choose? The game, which is a PS3 exclusive, will be released on February 22nd in the U.S. and 25th in Europe.

Gouki has reviewed three guns, but we believe that there will be many more to come, but will they be as good? First up is the Sony Sharpshooter, which is the official one from Sony. You will have to use both Move controller in order for it to function, the price for this will be $39.99 but you know that it will be a quality product.

CTADigital has two guns to choose from, the Assault Rifle Controller and the submachine gun. The former will cost you $20 and the latter $30, so you can be certain that build-quality will not be as good as the Sharpshooter.

Siliconera believes that the Sharpshooter from Sony will be under used at first, but they were informed at CES that more games would support the peripheral later this year. When that happens then maybe the price will fall – we can only hope.

Killzone 3 Beta: Download Today – No Redemption Code

Sony had promised that those who subscribed to PlayStation Plus would have offers that were only available to them, such as Killzone 3 Beta. The code is available to all those who subscribe to this extra service, and there is no need for a redemption code.

According to Electronic Theatre the download is live now, so you had best go to the PlayStation Store. Playing Killzone 3 beta will give you a chance to play something different – ideal if you are already getting bored with Call of Duty Black Ops. Ok, I am joking on that last part, but you know what I mean?

The download will not be available for long, so if you are not a subscriber to PlayStation Plus, then maybe it is about time you were, otherwise you will miss out on other great offers like this. The full version of the game will be available some time in 2011, and there will be both 2D and 3D versions of the game.

We recently reported that there is to be a special version of the game called Helghast Edition, but you will need to put aside $129.99. Do you think that it is fair that other PS3 users will not be able to download Killzone 3 beta?

Killzone 3 Helghast Edition Features And DLC Details

With just under four months until the release of Killzone 3, we have news that there is to be a special edition version of the game as well. Helghast Edition will launch at the same time as the standard edition, and will retail at $129.99 – any fan will be prepared to pay that price.

The set not only comes with the game, but also a Helghast Helmet replica, Super Voucher, art book and a Cloaking Helghast Marksman action figure. The game comes packed with some bonus content, so will keep you amused for much longer.

Also in the Killzone 3 will be a Retro Map Pac, which have two of the most popular maps from Killzone 2. In the first 24-hours of multiplayer you will have full access to all weapons and abilities.

Also on release will be a number of maps available as DLC, there are four in total, these include: Guerrilla Pack, Fast Starter Pack, Unlock and Load Pack and Retro Map Pack. The first three will be available to pre-order from GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon respectively. For more details visit the PlayStation Blog. Killzone 3 will also be available in 3D, bringing you closer to the action.
