When it comes to high end audio equipment, KEF has a reputation of being responsible for the manufacture of innovative and unique designs. Some of the designs are concept and today we have news of the KEF Blade speaker prototype.

The Blade was first heard about back in 2009; since this time the speaker has had had a few tweaks from the company as the prototype is being readied for KEF’s 50th anniversary. The KEF Blade has four bass drivers which are engineered and configured so their acoustic centers point collectively to the same spot.

This creates a flawless sound as if it was coming from one source. As well as technically perfected the designers have done their best to make the Blade look cutting-edge as well, though the looks mostly came about from the configuration of the acoustics.

Its sleek, slender structure comes in Gloss Black or Gloss White as standard but can be customized. According to the article at Pocket-lint the KEF Blades will be ready for customers who are willing to pay the steep price for the quality sound and design, around July or August time for $30,000 a pair.

Do these impressive speakers interest you? Would you pay this much for audio?
