The JVC MirrorLink Receiver is a great idea for those of you who want to link up their smartphone with the head unit’s monitor to assist your journey safe and responsibly. With the MirrorLink Receiver users can synchronize their Android and Symbian phones, duplicating the screen with the opportunity to take advantage of ‘Car Mode’ to access apps optimized for in-car use.

This ensures the driver can continue their journey enjoying a safe and comfortable experience with a whole array of user-friendly Symbian / Android apps that can contain everything from car navigation, hands-free telephone communication to music playback. Highlighting their EISA Award for Best Product 2012-2013 Smart Connectivity, JVC Kenwood documents this KW-NSX1 model and the compatibility with Samsung and Nokia phone models, although they do stress that this could differ by country or origin.

One of the applications mentioned is the ‘Drive Link’, which can be downloaded from Samsung Apps and this involves three groups of individual apps categorized for easy usage. Music, location and phone are the main groups and this allows owners to select their chosen application accordingly, and the connection with Samsung Electronics means those owning GALAXY S III smartphones can also enjoy optimized features with the KW-NSX1.

Are you looking for easy-to-use applications to assist you on those long car journeys? To see more on the compatibility notes head over to JVCKenwood.com.

When I was just a young boy the only brand of camcorder that really mattered was JVC, as they had the best build quality. However, things have changed a lot since then, and there are new boys on the block that competes with this once great brand. However, once in a while the old dog will come out and show its teeth once more, which is just what they have done with the announcement of the GC-PX10 hybrid camera.

There have already been a few early reviews of this new device, and one thing is certain, consumers will be paying the price to have a two-in one device. When you start to study the images of the JVC GC-PX10 (see here) you get the feeling that it is going through some sort of identity crisis. On one hand it looks like a camera, but then that huge lens body makes you think of a video camera.

JVC will say that this is the best of both, as you will not only get great moving shots, but stills as well. Full 1080P HD, 60fps and 8.3-megapixels are all proof that it is a more than capable device, but will it ever catch-on? We have seen camcorders come to market that say that it can also take stills, but consumers are not fooled, and will also want a separate device for each.

This is where the GC-PX10 will fail, as the quality of photos taken are good, but not mind blowing. However, for those who want to take some great family videos and photos, then this could be the answer. Now comes the price, JVC is expected to ship the hybrid camcorder in October, which will cost about $900.

Now, if you were to do some digging you will be able to get a separate video camera and digital camera for around the same price. They will both do a much better job, but then there is the hassle of carrying them around, and also the fear that you have not charged the battery on one. The decision is down to you, would you trade of features and quality in favor of practicality?

JVC is to launch the Everio GS-TD1, a Full HD 3D recording camcorder, which we first learned about at the end of last year. This is the first of its kind and can record two Full HD images at the same time; this is done with the use of two lenses and sensors. Do not expect it to be cheap; the price that you will pay once released in March will be Rs. 91,000 ($1,999.95).

Tech Know Bits has now been able to digest the details of the new JVC camcorder since it was last seen at CES, so thought they would point out some of its key features. Some of the main specs include 5x optical zoom lens – not much but certainly more than enough for the average user.

The biggest feature that we need to tell you about is the way that you do not need to use any 3D glasses while watching what you have shot. As this is a HD camcorder – 3D at that – the 64GB of storage is a must have. However, this can also bee expanded with the use of an SD/SDHC/SDXC card.

SlashGear said that it was too hard to tell just how good the JVC Everio GS-TD1 Camcorder was with the short amount of time they got to play with the device. However, the early signs are promising, but they need to be, as the likes of Sony and Panasonic will not be that far behind.

Is the 3D recording on this camcorder a gimmick, or is it a feature that you will use?

CES 2011 is not too far away, and with that being the case we have brought you a couple of things that are expected at the event. One of the items is a Samsung Slider Tablet PC, which will have a keyboard sliding out from it and we’re also hoping for a Microsoft Windows 8 release.

There is another interesting device that will make its way onto the scene and it is a 3D camcorder made by JVC. According to Engadget’s Chris Davies you can expect it to be using an LSI chip, the chip will allow you to record 2D and 3D images in full HD.

Some of the camcorders details were released in JVC’s press release, you can view it here. Within the press release they talk about the LSI chip and how it’s been developed for both still shots and HD recording on a single chip. They also mentioned that the still shots are 5.5 times faster at processing than their previous technology and the camera signal processing is quicker by 1.7 times enabling 60FPS 8.3 mega pixel video.

If you want to keep up with the CES event you can head over to their main website by clicking here, or you can download the official app from the iTunes store by clicking here. The event is looking like it will be bigger than ever with a host of companies and developers exhibiting their latest products.

With the advances in technology for TV’s and video games moving into the 3D spectrum, it seems like a natural progression for companies such as JVC to follow suit in their own field. We were wondering what the target audience would be for the device, but this was answered by JVC in terms of the LSI chip being suited to “a wide range of both consumer and professional products”. Whilst there are a few more details in the press release, JVC aren’t telling anyone the full specs but we do know it is planned to debut at CES 2011.

Are you excited by the prospect of video recording in 3D? Let us know your thoughts on their press conference in the comments below.

JVC never seems to stop developing and releasing new video cameras, this is evident with its new Everio GZ-HM550 HD camcorder. What makes this model different to others in its lineup is the fact that it comes with Bluetooth. To benefit from this new feature users will have to install a free app on their Smartphone – this can be downloaded from the JVC website.

Coated.com mentions that this is not the only cool feature on this high definition video camera, by using the JVC media center application you will be able to create bookmarks for Google Earth – this geo-tags feature allows you to pin-point where you are in the world when recording something.

Slash Gear, who received a press release from JVC tell us that the Everio GZ-HM550 has a 10.6-megapixel CMOS – for Full HD recording. Not only that, you can take still images with its built-in 9-megapixel camera. All this can be stored on its 32GB – this can be expanded with the use of an SD/SDHC card.

The JVC Everio GZ-HM550 is available to purchase now for a price of $799.95.
