New GoldenEye 007: Reloaded gameplay trailer PS3 / 360

Anyone who was gaming during the mid-to-late ’90s probably played GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64, if not, shame on you! Today we have another great trailer for you which shows of the remake of the game which is coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, not only do we get to see lots of gameplay – but we also find out some exciting details regarded the multiplayer elements of the game.

If you check out the video embedded at the bottom of the post we think you will agree that the graphics are by no means disappointing, that said there is no comparison to games such as BF3 and MW3. We also noticed a lack of realistic recoil in the game, but in our opinion we are not looking for the most realistic game of all-time, instead we want to relive our childhood memories without getting “pixelated to death” – and that’s what GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is all about.

So what does the trailer reveal? Well firstly we can confirm that the game will allow for 4-player split screen and online game modes will allow for up to 16 players, also the trailer gives us glimpses of some iconic enemies (Baron Semedi, Oddjob, Goldfinger, Scaramanga and Jaws), which you can take out with the weapons you loved from the first game.

What we are most excited about is undertaking the covert missions like we did in the original, remember how you choose either Agent, Secret Agent or 00 Agent? We spent hours trying to unlock the 007 mode – but we doubt it will be the same any more as in 1997 you wouldn’t get gamers showing their tactics on YouTube, instead you would hope to pick up some tips once a week during an episode of GamesMaster!

GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded trailer and first impressions

Two days ago we confirmed that one of the best game’s of my generation, GoldenEye 007, was coming to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We were just coming to terms with this news, then we heard that the PS3 version would run at 1080p, whilst the Xbox 360 release would only support 720p, giving Sony’s console an obvious edge, now we have even more to talk about and a video to show you.

We have embedded the game’s debut trailer below (at the end of this post), it introduces you to what you can expect visually and clearly shows that the game has been overhauled massively, some say it looks a lot like Call of Duty, which is by no means a bad thing, we are just glad to see that it still appears to stick to the original game’s roots.

Recently RipTen’s Dave Oshry got some hands on time with the game and he was very complimentary of the early build and said that the game felt CoD-esque, which is no surprise given the fact that this is a game which Activision is publishing. Oshry said that the game’s textures, lighting and shadows looked great and when it come to controls it was “much tighter” than before. If you were worried that the game’s pace would have slowed down don’t, as it is still said to be arcady and fast, and very James Bond-like.

While Oshry played the game someone from Activison apparently told him that the game will feature all-new multiplayer modes, however did not expand on this, we think that is great news as these days multiplayer is what interests people the most when it comes to first-person shooters. Something less significant to tell you is that the game will feature Daniel Craig as James Bond rather than Pierce Brosnan, how do you feel about this?

If you are reading this post having never played GoldenEye 007 on the N64 there is lots that you have missed out on, and it has to be said that this game is not like any other James Bond game you may have played before, this video summarizes what you missed out on. If you ignore the game’s dated visuals you should see that it was a groundbreaking game which paved the way for future first-person shooters, especially in terms of multiplayer. Also you can’t ignore what experts describe as a compelling campaign storyline which entertains throughout.

GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded, PS3 vs. Xbox 360 – Sony’s graphical edge

For those of you who never thought you would see GoldenEye: 007, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in the same sentence, think again. Rumors have been racing out the blocks since the start of this month, and we now know that GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded is heading to PS3 and Xbox 360 with a brand new game engine. But not is all that it seems.

We first confirmed the existence of GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded in a previous article, where we informed you of the new game engine, new game modes, new weapons and new customization options, but one feature completely slipped through our vintage James Bond Periscope’s and bug detectors.

According to our spy’s over at VideoGamer, Activision has confirmed that GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded will run at 1080p, but only on the PS3 version. This means that the Xbox 360 version will only run at 720p, which could frustrate and anger a fair bunch of the gaming community. Especially the Xbox 360 Bond fans.

Activision also received less than positive praise for its decision to unleash GoldenEye: 007 on the Nintendo Wii before any other console, but James Steer, who also revealed that the PS3 would have a graphical edge compared to the Xbox 360, has defended this due to the “N64 heritage.” Steer also states that this was also down to the fact that they had to make sure they could develop the technology needed to deliver “60fps, 16 player multiplayer and photo-realistic environments”.

The engine has been steadily worked on throughout 2010 says Steer, and as it became apparent that the game was wanted on other consoles, they have focused on making sure GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded could be the best for the Wii, and even better on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded is due for release sometime this autumn, and will feature a wealth of new features for this remake of a remake. In a preview, VideoGamer said that GoldenEye passed a resemblance to Call of Duty. It’s obviously a look and feel that they wanted to achieve for the Nintendo Wii version released last year, but due to technical limitations, this was not possible.

With GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded creeping up on us, you can almost sense that it will feel right at home on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The homes of modern day shooters should do a game justice that was never really given a chance on the Wii, and the use of analogue sticks is a welcome addition, especially to a game like GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded.

James Bond Gun Replica Worth $415,875 At Auction

Over the past few months a number of well known items have been going to auction, these include the Apple-1 (the first Apple computer), Darth Vader’s costume, John Lennon’s fingerprints and James Bond’s DB5. Sticking with 007, the gun that was held by Sean Connery has fetched $415,875 at auction.

The gun replica was used to promote the movie From Russia With Love, and was used in the posters only. The gun got much more than Christie’s London auction house had thought, expecting in the region of $22,500-$30,000 – not bad at all for a prop.

That means that the gun fetched 10 times the expected amount, no details were given about the bidder, Female First says that they must want to stay anonymous – not sure why that is.

The replica gun is based on a Walther Ppk semi-automatic, and was owned by the photographer who took the publicity shots from the James Bond movie. What with the DB5 and other such memorable, it shows that our favorite secret agent is still very popular.

007 Aston Martin Auction: James Bond’s DB5 Sold

We all remember the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from the famous Bond movie Goldfinger, starring Sean Connery. Well if you were at the RM Auctions sale in Battersea London on Wednesday you would have seen the iconic silver Aston reaching a bid of £2.6 million.

Harry Yeaggy, a classic car collector from Ohio was the lucky winner, and was quite surprised that he managed to secure the bid. He commented, “I thought a European would get it, but I guess they don’t appreciate James Bond like we do.” He also that he wanted to take it for a drive around London the same night.

The car will be displayed in his own private museum collection, and the proceeds of the sale are said to be going to previous owner Jerry Lee’s, charitable foundation which helps education and international anti-crime projects.

Jerry Lee originally bought the car back in 1969 for $12,000 US. It still has the 007 refinements including: revolving number plates, bullet-proof rear shield, Browning machine-guns and of course the ejector seat.

Ian Fleming, James Bond’s creator originally wanted the Special Agent to drive another very British car, the Bentley, but filmmakers had other ideas. At the time the DB5 was in direct competition with Jaguars E-type for dominance within the British and American sports market.

Amphicars: Off-road cars with a difference

From an early age I had a passion for cars, so just imagine how excited I got when I saw James Bond driving his Lotus into the water as if it were a submarine? Now 25 or so years later I had presumed that we would see a host of amphibious cars, but this is not the case. OK, so we know that there is a limited number of amphicars doing the auto show circuit, but they are nothing like the one that Roger Moore had.

Shannon Green from the Daily Register recently attended the Pardeeville Community Car Show, where visitors spotted a couple of strange cars on the lake, Green said that these certainly gave a new meaning to “off-road” vehicles.

There are around 300 amphicars in the world, eight of which reside in the Madison area. The crowds certainly had to have patience while watching these vehicles on the water, as they could only travel 7 mph on the water (6 knots).

Amphicars were made in Germany from 1962 to 1968 for the U.S. market, and were shaped more like boats. Although these were slow on water they could reach 70mph on land.

We had hoped to see carmakers continue to develop amphibious cars, but they understand that there is just no need for them. Would you like to see the likes of Ford or GM design a car that could work like a boat in water?

James Bond 007: Blood Stone ‘Istanbul Trailer’ (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Ok, so we are told that there is no upcoming James Bond films in the pipeline, but the new trailer for James Bond: Blood Stone should fill some empty holes for Bond fans with all new close combat gameplay and the usual car chase themes.

Bond fans will be pleased to know that Daniel Craig, and Judi Dench are featured voices in the upcoming game that is developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Activision.

In the plot, you obviously play as James Bond who teams up with Nicole Hunter (voiced by Joss Stone). Your mission is to find a researcher who is thought to be dead, and will be set across five separate locations — Athens, Istanbul, Monaco, Siberia and Bangkok.

Blood Stone features usual third-person shooter type gameplay, with a unique ‘Focus Aim’ system that lets players lock onto targets after melee takedowns and a multiplayer system for up to 16 players.

The trailer is embedded below, and all Bond fans will have high expectations for a game that needs to fill the void they have had since Quantum of Solace came out some time ago. But you will have to wait until November 2010 to fill those voids.
