White iPod Touch 4G And More From Colorware http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/10/12/white-ipod-touch-4g-and-more-from-colorware/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/10/12/white-ipod-touch-4g-and-more-from-colorware/#comments Tue, 12 Oct 2010 12:29:56 +0000 Peter Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=110944 For those of you who would like to own a new Apple iPod Touch 4G but would like something a little different, then Colorware could be the solution. We have seen in the past that the company will take your device and transform it for you – maybe you might want to go white like iPhone 4 fans have been waiting for?

Its no secret that when it comes to the color choice, all Apple give you is one. With Colorware you can choose from a huge range of different colors or if you do not like any, then why not suggest your own?

That’s the good news out of the way, now for the bad. If you send your own new 2010 iPod Touch in, then the cost for the color change is $150. For those who do not have the device yet, then just $380 will secure you the portable media player and the custom color finish.

We know that there are a number of after market cases available for the iPod Touch 4G, but they will never look as good as what Colorware can make them. What would be your perfect color choice?

Netflix for iPhone / iPod Touch: Now Supports Video Out http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/10/05/netflix-for-iphone-ipod-touch-now-supports-video-out/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/10/05/netflix-for-iphone-ipod-touch-now-supports-video-out/#comments Tue, 05 Oct 2010 03:45:08 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=110325 The developer behind the Netflix app for iPhone and iPod Touch has recently pushed out a new version of the app which adds support for video out functionality.

Prior to this only the Netflix iPad app featured this functionality, however now iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th generation owners will be able to output their Netflix rentals to a larger external display.

The application update also brings a few minor bug fixes, if you would like to download it check out this link.

We would love to hear if you have tried out this new functionality, if so what cable did you use? What was the external screen size? And what was the overall quality like?

iPod Touch 4 SHAtter Jailbreak: iPhone Dev-Team – PwnageTool Beta http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/09/27/ipod-touch-4-shatter-jailbreak-iphone-dev-team-pwnagetool-beta/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/09/27/ipod-touch-4-shatter-jailbreak-iphone-dev-team-pwnagetool-beta/#comments Mon, 27 Sep 2010 08:11:32 +0000 Peter Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=109557 The new Apple iPod Touch 4G has been on the market for just under one-month now, but sadly those who purchased one of these devices missed out when exploit on jailbreakme.com stopped. However, there is a new exploit called SHAtter, and can be seen running on the new Apple device in the video below.

The tool is still in the development stages, but hopefully the pod2g’s exploit beta version will be available for download soon. According to the Dev-Team Blog, SHAtter was able to restore the fourth-generation iPod Touch to the Dev Teams custom IPSW.

The results of this are clear for you to see in the video, and although this jailbreak is in its early stages, it is great to see things developing like they are. One feature that was nice to see on the iPod Touch 4G was battery percentage, we wonder what other features will be unlocked once the SHAtter comes out of beta?

New iPod Touch and Nano: Features Update before Apple Event http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/30/new-ipod-touch-and-nano-features-update-before-apple-event/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/30/new-ipod-touch-and-nano-features-update-before-apple-event/#comments Mon, 30 Aug 2010 03:24:19 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=107576 We have some fresh details on two new products that are widely expected to be unveiled at Apple’s Media Event on Wednesday. They are the new 4th-generation iPod Touch, and 6th-gen iPod Nano of course.

Some new details in this report from Apple Insider, has suggested that not only will the new iPod Touch come with iPhone 4 features such as Facetime video chat and a Retina display screen, but also the inclusion of 3G connectivity as seen in the iPad.

Apple’s 3G version of the iPad has proved far more popular than the WiFi model, so it makes good sense for Apple to include this as an added feature of the 4G iPod Touch.

As for the new iPod Nano, Apple Insider has suggested that the device will retain the 30-pin dock connector which will mean that it will have support for all the existing iPod accessories that are available, since it was previously suggested that new cables would be needed for PC input.

White iPhone 4 or New iPod Touch 4G: What do you want more? http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/27/white-iphone-4-or-new-ipod-touch-4g-what-do-you-want-more/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/27/white-iphone-4-or-new-ipod-touch-4g-what-do-you-want-more/#comments Fri, 27 Aug 2010 02:31:24 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=107445 As most of you are well aware by now, Apple will be holding a special media event on September 1st. They are widely expected to unveil the brand new iPod Touch 4G, but they also might give details on the highly anticipated white version of the iPhone 4.

The big question is though – what would you prefer more? The White iPhone 4 has turned into a highly sought after and elusive item ever since it was unavailable on iPhone 4 launch day. We still have had no official release update on the white version from Apple, as speculation continues that they are having serious manufacturing issues.

What about the new iPod Touch? It is now the 4th-generation model and consumers are really excited about this one, since it will be Apple’s first iPod with support for a front-facing camera. That means of course, that you’ll be able to enjoy Facetime video calls with your friends, on a device that is meant solely for music.

Just moments ago, we informed you about the iPod Touch 4G cases that are already available in China, so it is looking likely that Apple’s media event next week will be something special indeed.

Are you planning to buy either products? Let us know your thoughts on this.

New iPod Touch 4G and Nano: Cases Appear before Apple Event http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/27/new-ipod-touch-4g-and-nano-cases-appear-before-apple-event/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/27/new-ipod-touch-4g-and-nano-cases-appear-before-apple-event/#comments Fri, 27 Aug 2010 01:17:24 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=107439 We have some interestings news to report now, as it has been revealed that a couple of alleged iPod Touch 4G cases have shown up in China, right before Apple’s planned media event next month.

As reported from Engadget, the cases have appeared courtesy of Chinese website X-Doria, and show products for both the new iPod Touch 4G, along with cases for a 6th-generation iPod Nano device.

With all the recent news on the 4th-gen iPod Touch, it is safe to presume that Apple are widely expected to announce a refresh to their current iPod Touch, one with iPhone 4 features such as a front-facing camera for Facetime video chats.

Check out a close up images of the stylish cases below and let us know what you think of them. Would you consider buying the new iPod Touch or not?

New iPod Touch 4G: Your Ideal Camera Resolution http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/25/new-ipod-touch-4g-your-ideal-camera-resolution/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/25/new-ipod-touch-4g-your-ideal-camera-resolution/#comments Wed, 25 Aug 2010 17:03:27 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=107257 With the Apple Media Event coming in just over a weeks time and the exciting prospect of the new iPod Touch 4G, we take a look at what will undoubtedly be one of the prime features of the device — the rumored dual cameras and Retina Display.

Infact, to back up our arguement, a recent poll at T3 suggested that 27% of voters wanted a good rear facing camera with 23% of you voting for Apple’s Retina Display.

You might remember seeing some supposed images of a leaked iPod Touch 4G case that had a space where a camera might go, so I think it is safe to say that the next gen Touch would be coming with one.

One thing we are not yet sure on is the resolution. Most smartphones come well equipped in the camera department, giving us around 8-megapixels.

I highly doubt that the Touch will come with anything higher than the iPhone 4′s 5-megapixel camera, and definitely not the 12-megapixel camera on the Nokia N8.

So, with the iPod Touch 4G almost certain to come with the camera feature, is this enough to pursuade you to upgrade? What would your ideal resolution be?

Apple Media Event: White iPhone 4 Release Date and iPod Touch 4G? http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/25/apple-media-event-white-iphone-4-release-date-and-ipod-touch-4g/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/25/apple-media-event-white-iphone-4-release-date-and-ipod-touch-4g/#comments Wed, 25 Aug 2010 11:51:28 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=107220 For those of you who have been keeping track of the latest Apple hardware rumors, you might want to take note, as it looks as if Apple will be revealing their new products at a scheduled media event next month.

As reported from MacRumors, information obtained by Bloomberg has revealed that Apple are planning a media event on September 7th – which just so happens to land on a Tuesday.

The event is expected to unveil the fourth-generation iPod Touch with Facetime and front-facing camera, while there also could be a hardware refresh to Apple TV, or iTV as it will probably get renamed to.

This might be a long-shot, but Apple may also use their keynote conference to finally announce a release date for the white iPhone 4 model. Then again, most of you might have lost interest already, after discovering there are alternative ways to get hold of a white model.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming event? Do you think Apple has some other hardware surprises in store for us?

UPDATE: Event is actually on the 1st, not the 7th – sorry about that. Get a list of streams and blog links here.
