We have reported before about the battery life on the iPhone 3GS after installing the iOS 4, and owners experiencing poor performance. Now it seems that Apple CEO Steve Jobs does not think there is any problem at all.

Mic Wright from Electricpig.co.uk is reporting in an article that a Norwegian journalist is saying Steve Jobs replied to his questions concerning how the iOS 4 affects the 3GS and its battery. And you will not be surprised to hear that Jobs doesn’t think there is any problem what so ever.

The journalist Jarle Aasland told Wired that he contacted Steve Jobs by email and asked: “Any reason battery performance on a 3GS running iOS 4 should be worse than it was running OS3?” The reply: “Nope”.

But on the Apple Support forums many 3GS owners are complaining about their battery life now they have downloaded iOS 4. Some users have tried running their device with no apps installed, but still find the battery draining quickly.

Are you experiencing poor battery life now you have installed iOS 4?

For those of you who are eager to see a complete list of new features within the iPhone iOS 4 software update, we have a useful article for you to read now, which confirms what is new, and what features are missing for iPhone 3G owners.

As reported from Engadget, the biggest feature missing for 3G owners is undoubtedly multitasking. Unless you are planning to pick up the iPhone 4 this week, you will not gain access to fast-app switching and background features.

Another feature which is missing from the iPhone 3G is home screen wallpapers. While this may seem like a pretty minor feature, it will definitely frustrate a few of you for sure – why did Apple only enable this feature on the iPhone 4 we wonder?

Thankfully, the list of new features outweighs the missing features for 3G owners, so there is still plenty of goodies for those of you who are planning to keep the 3G over the new iPhone 4. Head to Engadget for the full list of features.

Once again, it seems the launch of a new iPhone operating system has not gone as smoothly as anticipated. We have a new list of a few major problems that users are experiencing after installing iOS 4.

As reported from BGR, some users have reported that they don’t have any problems after installing the new software, but a lot of you are saying otherwise.

One of the biggest problem that has surfaced after the update was available is that contacts are being deleted, despite the backup function that is available. BGR also state that Push Notifications is not working properly, while some of you are reporting that the update fails to install all together.

You can bet that Apple are already working hard on some of the problems mentioned, but how widespread are they we wonder?

Head to BGR for the full list and let us know if you are having any problem with your iPhone after installing iOS 4.

Once you have installed the software update, which feature will you be trying out first?

It is fair to say that multitasking is one feature that a lot of you are looking forward to trying out, particularly given the fact that this will be the first time that any form of multitasking has been enabled on the iPhone.

Another feature which I’m personally looking forward to, is the ability to organise apps into folders. Having to scroll across countless pages of apps until I found the right one was beginning to become a chore – folders will be one of the features that users will grow to love I’m sure.

Which feature will become a priority for you after installation? Perhaps you are most eager to try out the exciting Facetime chat features that Steve Jobs unveiled at WWDC?

Today is an exciting day for iPhone lovers. For those of you with the iPhone 3G, 3GS or iPod Touch, you’ll be able to download the new iOS 4 software today – as long as everything goes smoothly.

Although Apple hasn’t stated an exact release period for when iOS 4 will become available, you will be able to keep yourself updated on the situation using Twitter.

This page here lists all the relevant information regarding iOS 4, with users eager to know when the release time will be. Some people think it may go live at midnight, but I’m expecting the download to become available late afternoon/early evening.

Hopefully Apple will be able to keep their servers up and running during this frantic day. Last year they didn’t cope as we mentioned here, but hopefully by the end of the day, everyone will have iOS 4 running with no problems.

Are you going to be using Twitter throughout the day?

As the U.S patiently awaits the release of Apple’s new iPhone 4 handset on AT&T this week, we have found an interesting article for you to read which gives you an idea on just how many consumers are trading-in their current iPhones in preparation for the newest version.

Most of these trade-ins have taken place on Gazelle, one of the largest consumer electronics reCommerce service in the U.S.

Consumers have been trading in their older iPhone models for cash, and Gazelle is offering a pretty reasonable sum of money to those planning to pick up the iPhone 4 on June 24th. These include the iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS.

Considering that the iPhone 3G will be discontinued as of June 7th, Gazelle are still offering customers up to $141 for trade-ins. Their latest data shows that 34% of consumers have chosen to trade their 3G in, while 58% of trade-ins represent the iPhone 3GS, which is worth up to $222. The remaining 8% is related to the iPhone 2G.

If you are interested in trading in your old iPhone in for cash, visit Gazelle’s new mobile site here. Let us know your thoughts on this.

There is no denying that on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 it was a huge day for Apple, as this was the day when you could pre-order your new iPhone 4. What was meant to be a great day for both Apple and their customers, turned out to be a nightmare. If you thought that this was a big day, then just wait for Monday, June 21, 2010, as this is the day that iOS 4 will be available for you to download.

There were serious problems with the Apple iPhone 4 pre-order system, we just hope that Apple do not suffer the same kind of issue with its OS download update. But if you thought that the iPhone 4 pre-order was a big deal, then think again. 600,000 pre-orders on its first day was big, but millions of downloads within hours is even bigger.

This will be the best and biggest download yet and will also be available for the iPod Touch and the iPad. The spike in Internet traffic will be huge on the 21st – we just wonder if Apple servers will be able to cope with the high demand?

WWDC 2010 was a massive day for traffic in the Internet, but Monday has been coming for one-year – we just hope that Apple do not let us down. We recently asked the question if you would download iOS 4 on the day or wait? I know I will be doing it on the day.

Following on from our earlier report, which informed you about potential problems for when the download for iPhone iOS 4 becomes available, we would now like to know how many of you are planning to update on release date?

As we mentioned before, iOS 4 will be available on June 21st, just three days before the highly anticipated launch of the iPhone 4 handset from Apple, AT&T, Best Buy and now Walmart.

Last year’s iPhone OS 3.0 launch brought a lot of unexpected problems for Apple – most notably with their iPhone activation servers. We asked you last time if you thought the servers would crumble under pressure, but we have a feeling that some of you may opt against downloading straight away.

The release of iOS 4 is almost sure to bring some immediate bugs to your device, so how many of you are planning to wait until iOS 4 is definitely ready to go?

Will you risk downloading as soon as it is available, or just hold off a few hours? Give us your thoughts on this.

We are just days away from the official release of Apple’s new OS for the iPhone. It was renamed as ‘iOS 4′ and will be available to download for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch on June 21st.

Will Apple be ready for the launch this time around though? We took a trip down memory lane and reminded ourselves of the huge problems that occured after the release of iPhone 3.0 last Summer.

Most of the problems were due to the iPhone Activation Servers which came under severe pressure when millions of iPhone users were all trying to upgrade to the new OS at the same time. Worse yet, users reported last year that upgrading to the new OS deleted some of their data on their handset, including contacts and text history.

Will users be greeted with the ‘temporary unavailable’ message again when trying to upgrade to iOS 4, or will Apple be better prepared this time around? Hopefully it is the latter. Let us know your thoughts on this. Do you think Apple’s activation servers will run smoothly this time or crumble under pressure?
