We have had a lot of speculation about the new iPhone with it being called 4G and HD, and there have been lots of different images of what the new handset will look like. There is an image doing the rounds at the moment on Twitterverse that is supposed to be from a promotional poster from today’s WWDC.

A blogger by the name of iPhoneChris on AppleiPhoneReview.com is saying with his own personal judgment and what people are saying on Twitter the image is a fake. He points out that on the image there is swirling lines that could mean it is a photo of a computer screen, and the font used for the “iPhone HD” is incorrect.

Also pointed out is the fact the photo of the device is of the back and why would Apple do that. Other issues with the image are that the multicolored iPhones on the left corner at the bottom are not centered. The “smarter, better, faster” words on the image are in lower case with missing punctuation.

Do you agree with these comments? Is this image a fake? Let us know your views.

As we build up to tomorrow’s WWDC 2010 event, the two questions on our minds will be – will Steve Jobs announce the new iPhone and what will it be called? Most of us assumed that it would be called the 4G, but this could confuse users into thinking that the new handset was 4G capable. We think we have proof of what the new Apple smartphone will be called – iPhone HD.

Looking at the image that we found on Twitpic, it has the new name of the iPhone along with a caption beneath saying “smarter, better, faster”. That certainly sounds like the new iPhone to me going on all the rumors of what the features will be.

We are not certain if these images are fake, but it is normally a day before when we start to get more reliable news, and reports that Apple will call its new smaprtphone iPhone HD makes perfect sense.

Looking closely at the image it shows that the HD iPhone is a 64GB version and that there will be more of a color choice – this tends to confirm some of our recent reports.

Do you think that Apple will call it the iPhone HD, or do you think that this has been done with Photoshop?

Much has been discussed about the new Apple iPhone 4G – well HD if you believe the recent WSJ article, which they confirmed was coming. So, a new iPhone is coming not only for AT&T but Verizon as well and there is now one question on out minds – What would the perfect 4G screen size be?

There is a good reason for this; we assume that Apple will be selling the new iPhone based on showing HD quality videos; so having the right screen is imperative. A recent article on Daring Fireball suggests that Apple’s smartphone will come with a 960 × 640 double-resolution display.

Apple has the iPad and the iPhone; they just need to find a screen with the perfect balance for high definition. We recently wrote an article talking about that rumored 960 × 640, and comparing it to screen resolutions on other smartphones on the market.

Have a little think and let us know what you think would be the perfect screen size for the new iPhone HD?

Following on from our recent post that the WSJ confirmed the existence of a new Apple iPhone – which was later confirmed as the iPhone HD – Engadget were running continuous updates on the story. The blog has now posted a few specs, thanks to predictions from John Gruber.

Gruber is not one for mixing his words when talking about so-called rumors about the new iPhone for 2010. He likes more facts, so when he offers us a few details on specs, we can be sure that they are safe predictions.

Gruber reports on Daring Fireball that the new iPhone HD will come with an A4-class SoC, a front facing camera, 960 x 640 display, and that all-important iPhone OS 4.0. The addition of that new operating system will enable true multi-tasking.

So how much does John Gruber really know, it is a safe bet that he knows much more than he is letting on?

We recently reported that WSJ confirmed that Apple was developing two new iPhone models – one for AT&T and the other for Verizon. At that stage there were no suggestions of a name, but there has been an update to this story. It seems that the new Apple smartphone will be called the iPhone HD.

The release date or announcement date is rumored to be on June 22, 2010 – perfect timing for the HTC EVO 4G. This latest Android running handset is thought to be a big threat to the current iPhone – so comes as no surprise that Apple will offer something very special.

There are a number of HD smartphones about to, or already on the market, so the rumors of an iPhone HD will certainly keep Apple fans happy. We are still not certain how much truth in this story as it is still developing. More details can be found on Engadget
