Just yesterday we announced that Sony had recently unveiled 3 new iPhone / iPod docks. Now it appears to be Altec Lansing’s turn, as we’ve just heard that the company has recently announced its new MIX iMT810 digital boombox, the successor to the oversized MIX iMT800.

According to a recent engadget.com article by Brian Heater, the new MIX iMT810 dock – which is now Apple iPhone 4 certified – has replaced the gold trim with silver, and swapped the amber LED to blue. It boasts a seven- band graphic equalizer, and a 5.25-inch subwoofer.

It also features a slot for storing the carabiner-equipped remote. The Altec Lansing MIX iMT810 digital boombox runs on either AC or 8 D-cell batteries, making this the ideal device for listening to music outdoors. The dock provides around 30 hours of listening time if using battery power.

The blue LCD screen allows for custom personalization and displays track, battery and device information. The device will charge your iPhone or iPod while it’s connected to a mains adapter, and will intelligently turn off the charging ability when the device is running on batteries.

The MIX iMT810 allows for up to 2 other devices to be connected to it via the auxiliary input jacks, as well as offering the option of listening to music via the integrated FM radio. The Altec Lansing MIX iMT810 digital boombox is available to purchase now for $300.

Do you like the sound of the Altec Lansing MIX iMT810 digital boombox?

Are you thinking about purchasing a new speaker dock for your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch? If you answered that question with a yes, then you might be pleased to know that Sony has recently unveiled 3 new iPhone / iPod docks, starting with the RDP-X60iP model.

As Marc Chacksfield over at techradar.com notes, the RDP-X60iP, which has a 20W+20W output power, is the very first speaker dock from Sony to include Bluetooth functionality. This of course means that users are able to stream their music from any Bluetooth compatible device direct to their dock.

However, if you’re looking for speaker dock with a little more portability, then the Sony RDP-M15iP dock may be the model for you. The RDP-M15iP has half the power (10W+10W) of the RDP-X60iP model, but does feature a rechargeable battery that will keep the dock going for 6 hours.

The RDP-M15iP also comes with a handy travel pouch to keep your speaker dock safe. The final model unveiled by Sony is the compact RDP-M5iP dock. This model requires four AAA batteries, and should provide you with around 10 hours of listening time. It also comes with a grab handle.

Both the RDP-Mi5P and the RDP-X60iP models have been given a UK release date of June, while the RDP-M15iP will be arriving in the UK sometime in July. Are you thinking about buying a new iPhone / iPod speaker dock?
