So how can they get such a false impression over this technology? Also in the study it shows a growing number who are still willing to embrace a new iPhone over the likes of Android and BlackBerry.

There are two reasons for this confusion, one is because of the name iPhone 4 that Apple went with (which we already know) and the other is understanding 4G LTE speeds. Do not think that iPhone users are the only ones in this mix up, as 24 percent of BlackBerry users are as well. Mac Rumors has been studying the Retrevo survey, and it is not surprising why people think the way they do.

Most BlackBerry and iPhone owners know that neither have a 4G handsets, while Android does, but it is misinformation and conflicting claims from carriers that are to blame here. The reason is that there seems to be differences in what constitutes 4G LTE speeds, something that could be about to get much worse in the coming months.

LTE or 4G is currently available in a limited capacity in certain regions in the US, while HSPA+ is more widely accessible. Here is where the confusion lies, because these different standards vary and are not always running at the same speeds – it seems that all carriers have a different understanding when quoting speeds.

We have already reported that 4G or LTE will not be made available to the upcoming iPhone, despite what rumors you may have heard. However, that is not to say that the iPhone 5, which could be released on October 4, 2011, will not benefit from a speed boost from the likes of AT&T and Verizon, or T-Mobile and Sprint come to that. The reason for this is because the speed of 4G/LTE varies and there are some cases where HSPA+ is even faster.

40 percent of current iPhone users are still willing to stick with Apple and wait it out, while 21 percent of those with rival devices said that they are prepared to make leap to the iPhone. Having said that, with some great Android phones already expected for the latter part of 2011, this could play a major part in their shifting choices.

What are you more confused with when it comes the a 4G iPhone, the name itself or how the carriers confuse us with 4G/LTE and HSPA+ speeds?

We have further pictures of the device to show you now, which have surfaced from a Korean website.

As reported from RedmondPie, the pictures once again show the white model in action, giving us a look at the back casing for the highly anticipated, but still unannounced device.

Once again, the design is similar to the Gizmodo iPhone 4G prototype so it almost looks certain that this design will finally make an official appearance at WWDC 2010 in a few hours time.

Take a look at the pictures through the link and let us know your thoughts on them. Do you think this is the real thing?

Verizon iPhone HD or Sprint iPhone 4G – What Would You Prefer? http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/verizon-iphone-hd-or-sprint-iphone-4g-what-would-you-prefer/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/verizon-iphone-hd-or-sprint-iphone-4g-what-would-you-prefer/#comments Sun, 06 Jun 2010 20:35:56 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=101413 It is pretty much certain that Apple will unveil their fourth-generation iPhone tomorrow, in the U.S. this handset will only be available from AT&T, however is this what the consumers really want?

Currently AT&T have thousands of unsatisfied customers, this is mainly due to poor coverage when compared to Verizon’s network. Even when consumers are in a ‘high-coverage’ areas, download speeds are not great, therefore many believe that the fourth-gen iPhone would be better suited to a 4G network, such as Sprint’s WiMAX network.

The question is what what would be the perfect iPhone/carrier combination? Obviously Sprint’s 4G network would be great to deliver fast Internet speeds, however take into consideration things such as customer service and coverage across the whole of the U.S.

Feel free to fill out our poll below, for those of you who are big fans of T-Mobile we have also thrown them into the mix

Popularity: iPhone 4G vs. HTC EVO http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/popularity-iphone-4g-vs-htc-evo/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/popularity-iphone-4g-vs-htc-evo/#comments Sun, 06 Jun 2010 14:36:03 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=101406 The previous iPhones have always proved to be popular amongst users and fans alike. But lately the handset has had to deal with tougher opposition. With the announcement of the iPhone 4G expected tomorrow, the battle for the most popular handset will hot up.

Phonesreview.co.uk have been running a poll with its readers asking them to choose between the iPhone 4G, HTC Droid Incredible, and the HTC EVO 4G. We have reported recently on the popularity of the HTC EVO 4G, and the long queues of people wanting to get their hands on the device.

The poll the website is running started off with Apple’s iPhone 4G holding top position. But recently the HTC EVO 4G has stormed to the top of the poll gaining a massive 1642 votes compared to the iPhone 4G getting 444 votes.

Things could start to change when details of the iPhone 4G start to be confirmed, but Apple may not have things their own way anymore when it comes to the smartphone stakes. What do you think is Apple going to relinquish their title of the king of smartphones? Did they have it to lose in the first place?

New iPhone 4G/S: Mobile Gaming in 2010 http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/new-iphone-4gs-mobile-gaming-in-2010/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/new-iphone-4gs-mobile-gaming-in-2010/#comments Sun, 06 Jun 2010 12:41:54 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=101396 The new iPhone that is due to be announced tomorrow could totally change the face of mobile gaming in 2010. With all the rumored new features of the device, we can get some idea what this will mean for gamers and the iPhone.

Brian Crecente from Kotaku.com is reporting about the new features and what they will have in store for gamers. The front facing camera will give the iPhone similar capabilities to those of the Nintendo DSi, making it easier for users to upload their face to an iPhone game.

A possible higher resolution screen would allow for better game graphics, and that would always be a welcome feature. There is also the speculation that the new handset will be capable of multitouch gestures, which could if true provide another way to interact with games.

And with the possibility of new games being announced over the coming days, should provide some great excitement for iPhone gamers. We will surely soon find out.

New 4G iPhone in 2010 vs. cheaper re-engineered 3GS http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/new-4g-iphone-in-2010-vs-cheaper-re-engineered-3gs/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/06/new-4g-iphone-in-2010-vs-cheaper-re-engineered-3gs/#comments Sun, 06 Jun 2010 10:34:48 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=101382 When Steve Jobs takes to the stage tomorrow and as expected announces Apple’s new iPhone 4G, it will become this year’s must have gadget. But since its launch back in 2007 the iPhone has always been at the top end of the mobile market, with not everyone being able to afford the handset.

Richard Wray of the Guardian.co.uk is reporting on speculation that Apple might decide to have a larger piece of the mobile market by selling more than one handset. The company is expected to cease production of the 3G version, and do away with current versions of the iPhone 3GS.

It is rumored that Apple might bring out a new 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS, and target it at a wider customer base. This will allow users to get their hands on an iPhone using cheaper price plans. This move could take on the likes of Nokia and Samsung who are both ahead of Apple in the mobile phone market.

Time will tell if Apple does decide to go mass market, we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out. Use the link provided to read the full story on this. What are your thoughts, would you like to see a cheaper iPhone?

New iPhone 4G in 2010: What battery life should be minimum? http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/05/new-iphone-4gs-in-2010-what-battery-life-should-be-minimum/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/05/new-iphone-4gs-in-2010-what-battery-life-should-be-minimum/#comments Sat, 05 Jun 2010 15:58:11 +0000 Gary Johnson http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=101347 The battery life of the earlier versions of the iPhone has always been an issue with owners, but with the anticipated launch of Apples new handset just days away certain features of the next iPhone are becoming hot news.

A story by Derrick Johnson is reporting that the new handset will still not have great battery life; even though the handset probably will not have too much demanding technology it will only offer equal performance from other company’s smart phones.

We have spoken in the past about the battery on the iPhone 4G and the fact it is a lot bigger than previous models but will it be enough?

There is some help for owners of the current iPhone in maximizing their battery life. Keeping the device cool is said to improve performance, so try and keep it from places that will generate heat like the glove box of your car.

Updating the devices software or optimizing the phones settings can also add life to the device’s battery. With the expected announcement of the iPhone 4G next week what do you think the minimum battery life should be? Let us know your views.

iPhone 4G: Will Steve Jobs smash predictions at WWDC 2010? http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/05/iphone-4g-will-steve-jobs-smash-predictions-at-wwdc-2010/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/05/iphone-4g-will-steve-jobs-smash-predictions-at-wwdc-2010/#comments Sat, 05 Jun 2010 07:29:33 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=101325 It is fair to say that this year’s WWDC event in particular is one of the most eagerly anticipated events ever. It will interesting to see the audience reaction when Apple finally unveil the iPhone 4G device – unless Steve Jobs has a surprise for us.

This event is also quite unique, as it is the first time that an iphone 4G has been leaked in this way – thanks to the whole saga surrounding the lost/stolen prototype device which Apple has now admitted is the real thing.

However, we still don’t know if this prototype device is the final design which will be used for retail release. For all we know, Steve Jobs may have used that prototype device as consumer feedback and he may be planning to introduce a completely new design at WWDC 2010.

It seems unlikely that this will happen, given all the recent leaks on the device – but you never know whats in store with Apple. Will WWDC 2010 reveal that we have all been misled by the recent iPhone 4G leaks, or do you think the event will go as expected?

Give us your thoughts on this.

New iPhone 4G: Release Date after WWDC 2010? http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/05/new-iphone-4g-release-date-after-wwdc-2010/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/06/05/new-iphone-4g-release-date-after-wwdc-2010/#comments Sat, 05 Jun 2010 05:30:18 +0000 Alan Ng http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=101303 We have an exciting new rumor to share with you now, as it has been reported that the Apple iPhone will be launched after WWDC 2010 and not during, as previously suggested.

BGR is reporting that their AT&T sources have informed them that sales quotas for AT&T stores are ‘ridiculously’ high in the month of June – which leads them to believe that a confirmed iPhone 4G release will be in June, not July.

Furthermore, they argue that if the iPhone 4G was to be released on June 25th, AT&T wouldn’t have enough time to meet all the new sales quotas and for this reason, have pinpointed and predicted a June 18th launch – which is a Friday.

Do you think the release will happen during this period or not? BGR are usually pretty accurate with their predictions so we’ll have to wait and see. Let us know your thoughts on this.
