iPhone 4.1 Jailbreak and Unlock: PwnageTool Release Update

For those of you who expected the new version of PwnageTool to drop last Sunday, we have an update for you. The good news, is that it is still on the way soon, and we have some screenshots to show you as proof.

As reported from RedmondPie, the iPhone Dev-Team failed to release PwnageTool a few days ago, but we are now hearing that the download could become available sometime this week.

You’ll be pleased to know that the software does work, and Dev-Team member MuscleNerd has provided a screenshot showing how the interface will look on your Mac computer.

Just to reiterate, PwnageTool for iOS 4.1, will jailbreak all your devices without updating the baseband, meaning that you can unlock it afterwards using ultrasn0w.

Hopefully the team won’t keep you waiting too long, as we know a lot of you are waiting for an unlock method, and PwnageTool has the answer.

Unlock iPhone 4: GreenPois0n Jailbreak can fix 5.14.02 baseband problems

It has come to our attention that many of you are encountering problems after updating your iPhone 4 device to a higher version, and then becoming stuck on the newer baseband when having downgraded.

A solution to this problem isn’t available yet as you can’t unlock baseband 5.14.02, but you should be able to unlock it once GreenPois0n becomes available.

GreenPois0n if you didn’t know, is the upcoming jailbreaking tool for iOS 4.1 devices and is expected to be available very soon. The latest update on it, is that the iPhone Dev Team are saying that GreenPois0n will be available before Apple officially updates to iOS 4.2 – which shouldn’t be too long away.

For the moment though, those of you stuck on baseband 5.14.02 will have to hang tight until GreenPois0n releases – unless you have found an alternative method which works of course.

iPhone 4 Unlocked (US): Release details and Video Proof

We have some exciting news for some iPhone 4 users out there, as we can confirm that the iPhone 4 has finally been unlocked. We have a video to show you giving proof, as well as details on when it will be available for public release.

According to this report from RedmondPie, the unlock has been accomplished by ‘PlanetBeing’ and ‘MuscleNerd’ – two members of the iPhone Dev Team. Here is a statement from one of the members letting everyone know the moment iOS 4 was unlocked:

”Looks like I now have an unlocked iPhone 4. My soft-unlocked iPhone 4 (in Canada). I’ll have video in a couple of hours once I can top-up the SIM. http://twitpic.com/24ycdv”

They have since provided us with a video, showing proof of the unlock in progress. The good news is that a public release should be available soon – once the team has ‘cleaned’ up the unlock. Watch the video and let us know your thoughts on this.
