Knowing that the iPad 3 did not have long on the market until its successor came along there had been suggestions that we would see the release of the 5th-generation Apple tablet this month. However, this was never likely to happen because we know that Apple will want to make the iPad 5 a little special.

As always we have no idea as to what the new iPad 5 features will be, what it will look like and when that all-important iPad 5-release date will be. However, this has not stopped several fans from giving us their view on how they would like the upcoming iOS tablet to look like.

Here we have 5 concept videos of what the 2013 iPad could look like just to illustrate the new features and design, although these are never likely to happen, it’s nice just to see what is possible.

In the first concept video above you will see an iPad that looks pretty normal, that’s until the tablet is turned on and you see that the display is edge-to edge, which means the iPad 5 would not have a home button. In order to unlock and start the iPad up you just use two fingers on the touchscreen.

The second concept video, which we have discussed in the past, looks like a set of those glass bathroom scales. While this looks like a clean design, one has to wonder how all the internals are fitted into the small areas top and bottom?

Below you will see the third video, and this is a look at what the iPad 5 could actually look like because it takes into considering news that the new iPad could have the same bezel as the iPad mini.

As for the reaming two concept videos these are a little far-fetched, but they are fun to watch. What are your expectations in regards to the iPad 5, such as what features the new Apple tablet could have and how much this would affect the price.

The likelihood of the 5th-generation iPad being released next month is slim to none, but that still doesn’t stop the speculation. There has already been speculation that the next model will be very similar to the iPad mini, as it’s expected to have a much thinner bezel, which we have to say is a pretty good idea when you think of its practicality.

In the image above is the iPad 4 to the left, the proposed iPad 5 in the center and the iPad mini to the right.

Thanks to Mac Rumors they have commissioned a design company to show us what we could expect, and so we’re happy to see that the Radical iPad 5 is finally realized thanks to a selection of renderings next to the iPad mini and the iPhone 5.

These images were not created on a whim; they took the recent leaked enclosure of the rumored iPad 5 into consideration, and from what we can see above and also the other renderings from the source they’re pretty impressive. If those recent enclosures were in fact the real deal then these images are a true representation of what we can expect to see from Apple when they unveil their next iPad, which we expect will be October.

You’ll see that the iPad 5 could be 4mm shorter and 17mm narrow if it were to do away with the bezel, because there is currently a lot of wasted space on the current iPad. The way that Apple is expected to achieve this is by making several changes internally, with the major one being their display technology. Are you happy with how the design of the iPad 5 could end up?

Towards the end of 2012 there were several rumors doing the rounds suggesting that Apple were to release a new iPad 5 and an iPad mini 2 in March, and while there hasn’t been anything conclusive, these claims have been raised again by unnamed sources at CES. It doesn’t matter that Apple never attends this event because there are always third-party accessories for their devices being shown, as well as new rumors in regards to some of their products as well.

If the sources are correct then the new 5th-generation iPad will be thinner and lighter, although it’s expected that the 2nd-gen iPad mini form factor will be pretty similar to the current version. It’s hard to know just how much truth there is to this latest claim, but the March release doesn’t seem to be going away.

A huge number of iPad 3 owners were upset when Apple released the iPad 4 just months apart and if a March release is in fact true, then it shows that Apple has started to adopt a more aggressive product cycle stance. Maybe Apple knows that they need to change their previous strategy in order to keep up with their rivals such as Samsung, as they have had an aggressive product cycle for many years now and it seems to be working?

We’re still not certain how much truth is in these recent claims but if they are true then Apple will need to update the display on the new iPad mini to Retina if they have any hope of competing with the latest bunch of 7-inch tablets that are already on or about to come to the market. As for the iPad, a faster processor is a must but what updates would you like to see?

Apple looks set to make several changes to their production process of their iOS devices this year, and one of those is who will be manufacturing the processors that power these devices. We all know the ongoing issues that Apple have with Samsung, which is why they are doing all they can to find another supply chain for their current A6X chip, and if successful then the lucky company could produce the next-generation A7 processors in the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 in the middle of 2013.

According to a recent report it’s looking more likely that Apple will end their long-term partnership with Samsung and is likely to settle for the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company to produce their A6X chip very soon, and if they are happy with TSMC’s results then this could pave the way for them to produce the A7 chip later this year.

We shouldn’t read too much into this because these rumors have done the rounds before, but the tension has never been so bad between Apple and Samsung, so if this rumored trial period with TSMC is the real deal then it could be a great opportunity for the Taiwan chip maker, but a huge blow for Samsung.

Let’s hope that if Apple is to shift production of the upcoming A7 chip for the iPad 5th-generation, iPad mini 2 and possibly the iPhone 5S, the quality of the chip is not affected just so Apple can move away from Samsung. It’s hard to know just how much truth there is in this latest rumor, because it has also been suggested that the iPad 5 release could be as soon as March, which would mean that it could still have a Samsung produced chip after all.
