Apple decided not to include a front-facing camera on the first generation of iPad’s and there have been plenty of rumors floating around about the specs of the second generation iPad. But a new image of an apparent iPad 2 case has revealed that we could possibly get a rear-facing camera too.

Let’s start with the rumors. As we reported just yesterday, shipping for the next generation iPad — to be called the iPad 2 or iPad 2G — is intended to happen within 100 days from now. That is not too long to wait if you think about it, and we have just had more of an indication that the iPad 2 will come with a rear facing camera via an image for a Crystal iPad 2nd generation Case.

As you can see, there is a rather noticeable hole in the top-left hand corner of the case, where lets be honest, nothing but a camera could go.

We have seen this on the iPhone 4 and the latest generation of the iPod Touch, so now it’s time for the iPad to play catch up and also include it in their successful brand of tablets.

Does this image prove that we will infact get a rear facing camera for the next generation of iPad though? Short answer is: No. But it is a strong indication none-the-less.

With other tablets in the market giving us the option of a rear facing camera, do you think Apple are giving us this option as a safe bet? Sign off in the comments below.

We have some exciting news to bring you now, we have some more details on the rumored second generation Apple iPad, or iPad 2 as it is more commonly known. We may be closer to a release than we previously thought.

As reported from Engadget, fresh information has come courtesy of Digitimes, who have said that suppliers Foxconn have been told to ship the iPad 2 within the next 100 days.

That doesn’t mean that the iPad 2 will be available to buy in February though, as Foxconn will first have to deliver units to Apple, who then take care of launch proceedings. If the details above are true, then it could mean that the iPad 2 will be available to buy in retail stores sometime during April – what are your thoughts on this?

It looks like the next iPad is going to release around the same time as RIM’s BlackBerry Playbook, which has definitely been picking up momentum recently, especially after it’s appearance at All Things Digital.

For those of you who still don’t own an iPad, are you interested in the upcoming smaller model or not? It looks like the second generation iPad will be around 7-inches in size, meaning that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will face even more competition from Apple.

We have some interesting news for you now, as it has been reported that one supplier has already been identified to be working on component parts for the next generation iPad device, or iPad 2 as it is more commonly known.

As reported from BGR, that company is Largan Precision, who just so happen to be the same company which provided Apple with 5 megapixel cameras for the iPhone 4.

BGR cites a DigiTimes report which claims that Largan Precision has already received a contract for the works, and that they will be the sole supplier for lens modules for the iPad 2.

Considering that they already dealt with Apple in the past, it looks like the details are looking pretty legit, meaning that Largan Precision joins the likes of Ibiden, Tripod Technology and TTM Technologies as iPad 2 suppliers which have been named so far.

What are your thoughts on this? The next generation iPad is expected to release during the 1st quarter of 2011.

We have some interesting news to bring you now, as it has been revealed that Apple are currently in the midst of developing a unique application for the iPad, which will aim to deliver the latest news content specifically for iPad users.

The news has surfaced from Apple Insider, and the news application is thought to be a partnership between both Apple, and News Corp – fronted by CEO Rupert Murdoch.

While we haven’t heard too many details about this new project, Apple Insider reports that the application will be called ‘The Daily’ and that it will cost iPad users 99 cents a week to download and read.

Murdoch thinks that the app will be a huge success as the iPad continues to gain popularity, but what do you think? Would you pay 99 cents a week to read Apple’s summary of all the latest news and other bits of info?

‘The Daily’ is meant to be on the way in a few months time, but hopefully we’ll have some screenshots and other information to share with you soon – let us know your thoughts on this idea.
