If you love making heavy use of whatever popular social media apps are available on the App Store for your iPhone, you may be interested in the following rumor. We know that iOS 7 is on the way to WWDC 2013 for a grand unveiling, but now we hear that it may be coming with some brand new social integration, following on from the popular Facebook and Twitter integration built into iOS 6.

As most of you know, iOS 6 now allows users to sign into their personal Twitter and Facebook accounts directly from the settings menu. There’s also deep integration with Sina Weibo as well for consumers over in China, and it looks like Apple are planning to expand on this with iOS 7.

Information highlighted by 9to5Mac, suggests that iOS 7 will mark the debut of Flickr and Vimeo integration into the iPhone, iPad and other supported devices. Like Facebook and Twitter, users will then be able to sign into their respective spaces on Flickr and Vimeo but more importantly – allow instant uploads to these new apps as well direct from your device.

For example, you’ll now be able to take either a photo or video and have direct access to instant uploads to your Flickr and Vimeo profiles. Vimeo will be especially useful for those that want an alternative to YouTube, while Flickr integration has been a long request from iOS users for many years.

Considering that Google owns YouTube and Apple has now removed their in-house YouTube app from the iPhone, we wonder if the company actually has a view to replacing YouTube with Vimeo in the future – ie, blocking Google’s YouTube application from the App Store.

These two social apps will certainly be a nice addition to iOS 7 if confirmed true, but we wonder how long Apple plans to take, to finally get some Instagram integration added as well – perhaps iOS 8? Are you a Flickr or Vimeo user? Give us your thoughts on the news.

There’s no denying that iOS 6 is not considered the best from Apple, which is why they decided to make a few changes, one of which was to bring Jony Ive into the design process. We’ve been hearing so many different things about iOS 7, and with just over a month to go until an expected reveal, will the next major update to Apple’s mobile OS be able to give them the edge over Android?

What we expect to see – It’s almost certain that iOS 7 will come with a flat design, and while some of you will not be happy with this new design path, it was always one that Ive was going to pursue. Improved multitasking is another feature most iOS users have been demanding. However, it’s the recent concepts showing iOS 7 customization that has us most excited, but can we really see Apple removing some of their control and giving it to us?

Desired iOS 7 features being expressed by current users – While improved multitasking has been expressed, what some users have been asking for is the ability to have two apps open side-by-side, although this would only work on the iPad with its larger screen.

Another iOS 7 feature users have been asking for is Driving Mode. How this would work is your iOS device would sense that you are traveling more than a certain speed and disable anything on your iPhone that would require you to touch it. This would mean you would no longer be able to text while driving, which is a problem on the increase. This does sound like a good idea, but the probability of this being included in iOS 7 is slim, as the number of people who would want this feature is very low.

I hate the idea of having to go into settings and then a little deeper just to make a few simple changes. Wouldn’t it be much better to access this from one simple location from the home screen?

We’re still uncertain if any of these will be incorporated into iOS 7, but it’s a horrible thought to think that Apple is still trying to play catch-up in certain areas of their mobile iOS, when they were once a company to innovate.

The only thing we can say with almost certainty regarding WWDC 2013 is that iOS 7 will be revealed during Apple’s keynote. We had assumed there were to be other products being revealed, but Tim Cook said we should not expect anything new until the fall. However, we have a hard time believing this, as a new MacBook Air and/or Pro could make a showing.

Going back to iOS 7, as in previous WWDC events, Apple is certain to reveal their new mobile operating system to those who purchased a ticket, as well as the millions of us around the world keeping in touch via live WWDC blogs and streams.

How will iOS 7 look? Over the weeks and months we have seen several concept details showing us what some of you believe iOS 7 will look like, and there seems to be a continuing pattern. Firstly, most of you seem to want improved multitasking, but it’s the simplified design that seems to be gaining the most attention.

Is a flat iOS 7 design preferred? Several months ago it was said that Apple’s new mobile OS would come with a flatter, simplified design, as this was the direction that Jony Ive and his team were going in. However, while some people welcomed this, others have been a little skeptical and even suggested that it would look far too much like Windows Phone 8.

Love it or hate it, if iOS 7 was to get a flat design then there are many concept versions for you to visual just how this will look on your iPhone, with 9to5Mac offering us the latest batch of iOS 7 concept videos.

We know that some of you will say these look horrible and glad that they are just concepts, but with Ive behind the new design, you never know what will happen, because we all know how he likes to keep things simple and clean and some of you will be pleased to see a change, as many of you have grown bored with the same design for years.

Having already discussed the simplistic iOS 7 features sometime back, it seems as though that rumor is gaining more credibility since we are hearing several people have already seen the new design, and the look is very flat.

The current look is rather realistic and has a sort of bubbly look, but Jony Ive wanted to get radical, we just hope the new iOS 7 design is what users want? I’m hoping Apple has done the right thing by letting Ive in on the new iOS, as we all know he loves his simplistic design, because I will hate it if it looks too flat.

I’m wondering if it will look as basic as Windows Vista when you turned the look to basic in order to make it run better, or even worse? However, if they are to introduce some dramatic modifications then it could be worth the trade-off.

Dramatic changes – From what Bloomberg has been saying then there could be some dramatic changes to the email and calendar, although we do expect more changes in other areas. While information is thin on what we can expect from these two apps, we do know that Ive is looking at these changes every step of the way, which is because he does not want a repeat of the fiasco that is Apple Maps.

Deeper software and hardware integration – If you thought previous versions of iOS worked in unison with the hardware in the past, then things will be ever better. This is because the team behind iOS 7 has been working much closer with the hardware department, maybe they will finally be able to get on top of this battery issue?

iOS 7 is said to have deeper in-car integration, because according to 9to5Mac Apple is working closely with certain car makers in the hope of bringing Apple Maps and Siri into cars. If this is true then these cars could show these Apple services on built-in car displays.

Do you welcome these changes, if true of course?

There is not long to wait until we can see the vision of Jony Ive with iOS 7, and we won’t have long to wait as WWDC tickets have already gone on sale, and sold out in record time. Over the past few weeks the excitement level of this new version of Apple’s mobile OS has moved up a gear, as we have seen several concept videos of how fans would like to see iOS 7.

We already know that iOS 6 was not the best version, so Ive will need to make some huge changes, and one feature we would really like is more customization. Which leads us nicely into a new video of the vision one fan has with iOS 7 customization and flexibility.

Having already looked at the iOS 7 UI, which could have a far cleaner look, this new video takes another look at the User Interface, which shows that it could come with a complete overhaul, well that would be what many iOS users would like to see, but I cannot see that happening this year – maybe when the iPhone 6 is released?

The Notification Center was introduced a couple of years ago, but it’s still way behind what Android offers, but we do expect iOS 7 to enhance this, although not as much as we see in the video above.

Customization is the biggest concern for iOS, well the lack of it anyway. It’s no secret that Apple likes to stay in control, but offering iOS 7 greater customization would go a long way to heal some old wounds.

If Apple does unveil iOS 7 during WWDC 2013, then don’t expect it to be released until September, as Tim Cook has already said they will not be releasing any new products until the fall, and iOS 7 will most certainly be released around the same time as the iPhone 5S?

When it comes to the next iPhone, it will come installed with iOS 7, and we also know that when the X Phone is released and possibly the Nexus 5, these two handsets will run on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. So we know that these will be the next mobile OS versions for Apple and Google, but what we do not know are their features, or their release dates.

It’s obvious these two platforms will need to make some major changes in order to make their upcoming devices even better than current devices running on their appropriate software. While the likes of Apple, Motorola, and Samsung try to offer decent features to their smartphones and tablets in terms of hardware, they will be pointless without decent software.

Looking at iOS 7 first, it’s not like this new version has some big shoes to fill, as iOS 6 is not the best version to-date, and so the bar is not set too high. Having said that, Jony Ive and his team must have some good features planned, as they have been running a little behind schedule.

While many of you want different things, for the most part most iOS users are looking for the same features, the first of which is more features on the lock screen, which you can read more about in our recent article. Fingerprint technology is another wanted feature, and this could be a possibility, as the technology is software based rather than hardware.

Apple Maps 2.0 would be very welcome, although we still do not have enough faith that it would be good enough to compete with Google Maps, as they have been doing it for a lot longer?

Having more control over key functions from the home screen would be very welcome as well, such as Bluetooth, WiFi and other common settings. We know there is far more you would like to see, like improved battery life, but what else?

As for Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie features, this list does not seem as extensive when it comes to users anticipating new features, as they seem happy with what they already have. Having said that, there’s always room for improvement, such as improved performance profiles. So you could have a Night mode to run the phone on the bare minimum to conserve power, or Game mode, which will turn everything up to the maximum in order to get the most from a game.

We know that multiple device support has always been a weak spot for Android, unlike iOS, so it’s about time this was changed. Finally there have been rumors that the touch keyboard interface will see an improvement in Key Lime Pie, but do these features go far enough?

Several days ago we reported that things were behind schedule over at Apple, as they have run into a few problems regarding iOS 7, as the UI has been causing them a few issues. Something like this was always going to manifest considering Jony Ive had to join the team partway through the design process.

If you were hoping to see iOS 7 get the full Ive treatment, then you may be left feeling a little disappointed because this may not happen until iOS 8. However, we should see some of his flare brought into the next update. Over the weeks and months we have seen several concept videos of what could be possible, and so we thought we would give you the opportunity to see another.

The iOS 7 user experience is the most important thing Apple needs to take into consideration, and if these latest improvements, which are visualized above and below, are anything to go by then Apple seems to have put the mistakes of iOS 6 behind them. However, this just is wishful thinking, as this is just a concept of what one designer believes/hopes will happen.

As you would imagine designers like F. Bianco borrow ideas taken from iOS jailbreaks and then incorporate them into a concept video, but rather than concentrate on one area of Apple’s mobile operating system, he looks at different areas that appeal to the user, such as app switching, media controls, widgets and so much more.

One issue that we would like to see improved on iOS 7 is easier accessibility, because getting to functions like Bluetooth is not as quick as it could be, but in the video above you’ll see a workaround to make this process much faster.

What features do you like in this concept, and what other improvements would you like to see brought into iOS 7?

We still have no idea when iOS 7 will be released, but we do know we should see Apple teasing us with some of its new features during WWDC in June. However, things are not going the way Jony Ive had hoped because the upcoming iOS 7 UI modifications have caused the mobile OS to fall behind schedule, and so Apple has felt the need to use some of the team who had been working on Mac OS X 10.9.

Apple is usually on top of their mobile OS development, but according to Daring Fireball’s John Gruber, Ive has made a significant number of changes to make iOS 7 far different to what we have seen in the past, and as such has caused the delay.

There have already been reports that Ive was going for a more flat, modern design, which received a mixed reaction from current iOS 6 users, although a majority of them seem happy with this new direction. We should not expect a complete overhaul of iOS because Ive came into the project a little too late to make a huge difference, so iOS 8 is when the biggest changes will be seen.

If Apple has managed to make iOS 7 cleaner, then we can expect the software to perform much faster, as well as being able to get more life from the battery on iOS devices. While this is good news that Apple has had to borrow some of the team working on Mac OS X 10.9, we do hope this will not cause the new operating system to be delayed instead.

Let’s hope Jony Ive and his team is making significant changes and will not try to polish over iOS 6, because that would be such a huge mistake.

The iPhone 6 and iOS 7 are getting closer to release and WWDC is just around the corner, so it would be obvious for more solid rumors to surface as we move towards confirmation of features for the new hardware and software. Apple has certainly innovated over the last few years although it seems the world’s biggest technology brand seems to borrow and repackage while creating new products.

Samsung recently launched their new Galaxy S4 smartphone and with it heavily promoted the idea of tracking eye movements, which have impressed some of our readers and the lack of a major design change upset others. One thing is for sure, and this is the movement towards using your eyes to control both hardware and software.

It’s understood from the current rumors that we might see an iPhone 6 release after a possible iPhone 5S model, which could see a gap of only months rather than a full year. This is of course speculation at this time, but the idea of upgrading from your current iPhone would need something a lot more than just tracking of eye movements, or would it?

We have included a video below this article that features how an iPhone 6, or 5S, would use eye tracking technology on a mobile device. The video runs for under 2 minutes and focus on a software only solution for tracking eye movements, which Umoove states will be available shortly for Android and iOS. The version found on the new Galaxy S4 has been designed from the ground up, and is integrated with the handset from launch.

Safari would be used on a daily basis by a lot of users and iOS 7 would need to innovate a little with the browser software, which we touched on a few of the features that could create a much better browser in a recent article focued on possible iOS 7 enhancements for Safari.

The feedback we’ve had so far in regard to eye tracking seems to be mixed, and iOS users look to be split on the desire for such a feature with some considering it another novelty that wouldn’t be used much. Would you like to see eye tracking added to iPhone 6 and iOS 7, or would you see it as Apple just copying other brands with their own repackaged version?

Having owned every generation and for the first time we’re seriously considering to miss the iPhone 6, or 5S, which would be the first time we missed an iPhone launch to date. Personally, Apple borrowing ideas from others isn’t a problem in my opinion but some improvements are needed with the next-generation of iPhone.

For starters the current iPhone feels great, in our opinion, and runs a lot cooler but scratches far too easily. The screen needs to grow in width a little and also in length, but not too much, and having an edge-to-edge screen would allow for more screen real estate without making the iPhone 6 / 5S less of a phone size.

Take a look at the video below and let us know if you’d want to see eye tracking on the next iPhone, also how do you feel about Apple using current technology on certain smartphones already and repackaging it in a unique way?

Love or hate Apple, the problem for a lot of current iDevice owners is the fact that owning any other smartphone without iOS seems like an impossible thought.

We are still not 100 percent certain if we will see the release of the iPhone 5S this year or the iPhone 6, although if we were to go on the past it will be the former, then again Apple could surprise us and release both. However, one thing we do know and that is the fact that iOS 7 will be the next mobile OS from Apple.

Expectations are very high for the next OS and looking at some of the concept videos the fans do expect Apple to deliver; unlike they did with iOS 6. One such area that could do with an improvement is the browser, and so thought you would want to see how one fan has envisaged iOS 7 Safari features. Okay, so we know that a lot more needs to be improved first, but Safari is a key part of the operating system and is probably the most used feature as well.

Depending whom you ask a majority of iPhone users will tell you that Apple has neglected Safari over the years, so why has this app not seen the revamp it so rightly deserves? If you head over here you will see several images of how Designer Brent Caswell believes Safari should look in iOS 7 and the many new features the app needs to offer.

Some of the features that Caswell covers is how the new URL bar could look, along with improved Bookmarks, such as better organization and Bookmark Stream similar to Photo Stream. Safari Page Management is something else that could appeal to iOS users, so instead of showing one page at a time you will see four. This does seem like a useful idea, but not sure how practical it is when you consider how small the screen of the iPhone is, even the iPhone 5. However, this would be ideal if Apple were to release an even larger model.

Other features that could see an improvement are faster, easier web sharing, web notification and finally better reader options. Do you agree that some or all of these features could help improve Safari in iOS 7?
