Intel stocks fall 6.7 percent: Otellini says economy is fragile

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) has seen its stocks fall as much as 6.7 percent in European trading, following comments made by CEO, Paul Otellini. He said that the company still faces a “fragile global economic environment.” Otellini certainly had a lot to say, he added that sales of personal computer processors bottomed out in the first quarter as computer manufacturers used up its stockpile of parts. It was no secret that AMD took a bit of a beating when Intel launched its new Nehalem server chip, the Xeon 5500. AMD are now fighting back and hopes to be able to recover from the beating. Pat Patla, AMD’s server chief had been asked in an interview with TechPulse360 if Nehalem’s slowest, server chips would be able to beat the Opteron chip, Patla had said that it seems incredulous. Only 65W: Intel Core 2 Quad S-Series

Here we have the Intel Core 2 Quad S-Series and is based on Intel’s 45 nm manufacturing process, the CPU will utilize the same silicon as the non-S models, and is based on the Core 2 Duo ‘Wolfdale’ design. Intel (INTC) have now posted their Q4 earnings for 2008, their revenues were $8.2 billion, with an operating income of $5.1 billion and a net income of $234 million and an EPS of $0.04. These Intel results include the billion dollar negative impact from the reduction in the carrying value of computer chip Company’s Clearwire investment. Read more
