Now that inFAMOUS has been available for the US market, we thought that it was now time that we offered you an inFAMOUS 2 review roundup. On the whole the game has been said to be amazing, although it is not perfect and can be frustrating at times. The game was released 2 years after the original, so one would expect Sucker Punch Productions to come up with something special, and for the most part they do not disappoint.

One of the first reviews to appear on the Internet was from IGN back at the end of May. We reported that the website gave the game a 9 out of 10, which we have to say was very impressive. They said that if you are looking for a rock-solid FPS, then inFAMOUS 2 is it, and is a must for anyone who has a PS3.

ABC News has also spent some quality time with the sequel, and you can tell by the start of the review that we are in for a thrilling ride with this game, saying “This time everything is bigger, badder and brasher.” They pick up on some of Cole’s abilities (which you can read more about here) as well as the “Lack of an impactful score akin to the “Uncharted” games.”

The Edge Magazine seems happy with picking out all that is similar with inFAMOUS 2 compared to other games. This review seems to have a pattern, as it also suggests that the game has two halves and one of them is horrible. This seems to be the most negative review of inFAMOUS 2 that we have seen, we just wonder if you have mixed reviews like this roundup?

A few days ago you may remember that we offered information regarding trophies for inFAMOUS 2, so today we thought we would offer a power customization feature breakdown. Knowing these upgrades will help you to control Cole even better and make him an even more powerful weapon. Controlling the new Karma system does this.

One of the primary weapons are the bolts, but there are so many different variants that it is hard to remember them all. Being able to use these effectively will allow you to cause a huge amount of devastation. Some of the bolts at your disposal include: Alpha Bolt, Artillery Bolt, Bolt Stream and many more.

Some of these are available from level 1, but some you will have to wait until Level 2. Next up are the blasts. These consist of Alpha Blast, Detonation Blast, Graviton Blast and many more. You can use these for Super Jump and lowering the gravity. Most of these blasts will give you good Karma.

There are a host of other powers too, these include: Kinetic Pulse to create an EM Field; this allows you to lift objects that are close to you. Lightning Hook is another; this reminds us of Mortal Kombat a little, as you will be able to pull an enemy towards you. For a full breakdown of these powers and how to use them visit SegmentNext.

We have already given you an early review of InFamous 2, with the soon to be released game getting an impressive nine out of ten. Today we have an article looking at the InFamous 2 trophies list shown for you.

According to Grant Gaines of Vivid Gamer you should begin the game on easy and go evil. Next time around you should be on the hard level going hero, as this makes it slightly easier on the hard level with all the hero abilities. It is advised that gamers make the most of the blast shards, and there are also a few online trophies that require missions that have been created by the user.

Shardcore can be obtained by picking up fifty percent of the blast shards that are scattered around New Marais. Fight the Good Fight comes after the final blast core where you get offered a choice. This unlocks the good ending but be warned is harder than the hard ending.

It’s My Town, Now is achieved when you take control of the second island in New Marais. Behind the Curtain is won by collecting fifty percent of the Dead Drops. For the full list of the InFamous 2 trophies hit the link above.

Sucker Punch Productions’ much-anticipated InFamous 2 game may not have made it into worldwide stores as of yet, but that hasn’t stopped IGN from rolling out the very first review before the game’s release and judging by IGN’s overall rating of 9/10, it looks like the game is going to be a hit.

According to Colin Moriarty over at uk.ps3.ign.com notes, the story in the InFamous 2 game is a deep and character-driven one, and its gameplay is almost identical to that of the original game. Colin notes that although the melee combat isn’t as strong as it could be, the fighting is still satisfying.

This reviewer states that in order to see everything that the InFamous 2 game has to offer, players will have to play through it twice, making entirely different decisions both times. Colin also claims that the introduction of the User Generated Content (UGC) possibly gives the game an endless replay value.

Colin’s closing comments describe the InFamous 2 game as a rock solid third-person action title with great characters, meaty gameplay and an incredible story. Will you be picking up a copy of the upcoming InFamous 2 game next month? Feel free to give us your first impressions if you do.

We have some really exciting news now for those of you that are waiting to buy the highly-anticipated InFamous 2 game, as Sucker Punch Productions has just announced that the game will include a “Mission Creator” mode similar to those found in Modnation Racers and LittleBigPlanet.

As Garrett Hartman over on the ripten.com website recently reported, the “Mission Creator” mode will enable players a vast amount of customization options, such as the ability to tweak Cole’s powers, creating battle scenarios between different groups of characters and even creating stealth missions.

The feature will even enable players to set up game types and mini-games. All the enemies, characters and creatures that are available to developers will also be made available to gamers within the new mode. The mission that players create can then be shared online with the InFamous community.

All Garrett Hartman had to say on the matter was WOW, and I think we can agree with him on that one. Sucker Punch Productions have even enabled PlayStation 3 owners to take a sneak peek at the new “Mission Creator” mode by releasing a trailer, which can be viewed below this post.

The developer also announced that they have arranged a Beta in order for players to test the new feature, which should be available sometime in April. The Beta is limited, and sign ups are said to begin on March 14th. Are you excited to use the new “Mission Creator” mode?

We may not have any news on a confirmed launch window for the upcoming InFamous 2 game as of yet, but it looks like the guys over at Sucker Punch Productions have decided to provide fans with a little more information on the game’s duality/morality system.

In the InFamous 2 game, the player’s conscience comes into play with the introduction of Nix and Kuo, which according to Lorenzo Winfrey over at zoknowsgaming.com are two NPCs that will either lead Cole McGrath down a road to darkness or a path to light.

Nix is described as the player’s hedonistic guide, who will coax Cole into doing things without thinking of the consequences. Meanwhile, Kuo is a NSA agent who is working to help McGrath defeat the beast. Players will be faced with several decision points throughout the game.

This is when Cole will have to decide whether to listen to Kuo or follow Nix and ignore the consequences. The choices that players make will directly affect the gameplay. You can view a new trailer for the InFamous 2 game via the zoknowsgaming.com website.

According to Shui Ta over on the examiner.com website, the developer has also updated the game’s official website recently. The update includes more details on the game itself, character profiles, IM icons and information about a few of the revealed locales.

What do you think about the game’s duality/morality system?

We first heard about the much-anticipated Infamous 2 game back in June 2010, and since then we have seen several gameplay trailers released. This includes the trailers that were revealed during last year’s Gamescom and E3 events.

However, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions obviously felt that fans needed even more teasing, as they’ve recently revealed a few more gameplay trailers during this week’s Consumer Electronics Show that took place in Las Vegas.

I found 3 new trailers – which all come courtesy of the gamespot.com website – for the upcoming open world video game, which shows the main protagonist Cole McGrath in action. Although the videos come without audio, they still give you an idea of what’s to come.

The first trailer shows McGrath defending himself against an onslaught of swamp monsters, while the second video shows Cole having to take down a chopper with one of his brand new abilities. The final video shows him chasing after a limo, using the wires to aid him.

You can learn a bit more about the Infamous 2 game by visiting the Wikipedia.org link here. What do you think of the upcoming game from what you’ve seen in the gameplay trailers?

If you really enjoyed playing the 2009 open world video game InFamous, you are probably looking forward to the release of its sequel, InFamous 2. Back in June we brought you a trailer for the upcoming title, and now we have a preview that describes it as the best game on the PS3 since Uncharted 2.

According to a recent article by PSM3 staff over at computerandvideogames.com, a few changes have been made for the InFamous 2 game. For example, Sucker Punch – the game’s developer – felt that the melee combat was too weak in the original, so Cole MacGrath now carries a glowing rod called the Amp.

It appears that the game’s hero has been given a few new abilities as well including a kinetic pulse, which allows him to pick up and throw even larger objects such as cars. There has been speculation about Cole having ice powers, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Cole MacGrath’s unfunny sidekick Zeke is back for InFamous 2, which is set in the city of New Marais. The karma system has received a few tweaks as well in the sequel, meaning players will be able to see the consequences of their bad/good actions more clearly now.

This preview claims InFamous 2 to be a definite step us from the original game and although some of the less-refined plot devices have remained in the sequel, the gameplay is most certainly showing promise. Will you be buying this game when it arrives in store?
