We have some important news to bring you now, especially if you are the owner of an IKEA baby crib, as it been confirmed that the Swedish homewares giant has had to recall one of their crib products, due to a possible risk of the mattress collapsing.

According to this report from Reuters, four of the underneath screw bolts which support the Sniglar crib from IKEA are not strong enough, and could potentially collapse under pressure.

The exact model number of the Sniglar baby crib is 60091931 and these cribs are sold in both the US and Canada. If you own one of these specific cribs, you should obviously stop using it immediately and contact IKEA for a free repair kit. We’ve got hold of the number you should call to reach IKEA customer services – (888) 966-4532.

Below is a picture of the crib showing the dangers exactly, courtesy of Consumerist.com.

The good news, is that no injuries have been reported yet, but it’s obviously a good idea to check the support of the crib if you own one from IKEA. Let us know your thoughts on this recall – do you know anyone who bought a crib from IKEA?

If you consider yourself to be a cat lover, then we have a real treat for you now, as home furniture giants IKEA has just released their new Advertising campaign video for their London Catalogue, which features no fewer than 100 cats in it.

As reported from Gather, IKEA rounded up 100 cats and let them run loose inside their London flagship store, whilst being captured in stunning slow motion sequences as you’ll see in the ad below.

To help get IKEA’s new ad noticed with the general public, the Swedish chain made sure it was aired during an episode of singing talent show The X-Factor.

Luckily, there wasn’t any major incidents when the cats were let loose, and the resulting video ad is pretty stunning I have to say, I loved the accompanying music with it. Take a look below and let us know your thoughts on it.

It has been reported that the world’s largest furniture retailer Ikea, are recalling 3.4 million window blinds and shades, after a child came close to death after nearly strangling himself with a cord.

As reported from Charlotte Observer, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued the recall yesterday, after it was revealed that a 1 and a half year-old boy from Lowell, USA almost died as a result of one of Ikea’s products.

According to the CPSC, three types of shades are affected by this recall. These include all Roman shades and roll-up blinds, which have been on sale since January 1998 to June 2009, and also roller blinds from those dates which don’t have certain tension devices.

The CPSC states that the cords are dangerous for young children, as the cords within these products can become caught with their necks – especially if the adjustment loop slides off from roll-up blinds.

For further information on this recall, you can visit the CPSC website here. Let us know your thoughts on this. Do you own any Ikea window shades and blinds?

It seems that the Swedish furniture giant Ikea have decided to recall thousands of ‘Leopard Children’s High Chairs’, this is apparently due to safety concerns.

From what we can see there are between 5 and 6 thousand high chairs that need to be recalled, the problem is related to a snap lock fault.

The snap lock which is said to usually secure the seat to the frame is at risk of breaking, not only does this directly pose a risk to the potential of children falling from the chair, but also the plastic which can snap off is also a choking hazard.

If you own one of these high chairs you should immediately stop using it, if you get in contact with Ikea they should offer you a full refund, for more information check out Canada.com.
