We have embedded a video at the bottom of this page and it really does look like I Am Alive is something completely new from Ubisoft, rather than running in ‘all guns blazing’ we are told to keep out of sight when possible and if you have to fight, keep your cool. You have a gun if you need to use it, but we are also told to conserve ammo, luckily simply showing the enemy your gun can be enough to scare them away.

At times machete wielding enemies will call your bluff and start an altercation, in these situations you must not waste any time, take out the enemies with as few bullets as possible, methods seen in the video are quite gory such as slashing someone’s throat and kicking them off a platform so they fall to their death.

The video to us almost reminds us a cross between Splinter Cell’s stealthiness and Manhunt’s graphic violence, the dark lighting at times gives the game a very atmospheric feel and considering the fact that this will be a downloadable title the graphics are pretty neat – check out the video below for yourself to see what we mean.

At the beginning of the video we are told that this game has a PEGI 18 rating, which is unsurprising, we don’t know when it will hit Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network – but we are told that it is coming soon.

Did the trailer impress you?

I am really unsure what to expect from the game, Wikipedia describe the game as “action first-person shooter video game”, however if you check out the trailer (embedded below) you will see no FPS action whatsoever.

Most of the comments on GameTrailers seem hopeful that the game stays original and doesn’t involve monsters, mutants, aliens and robots, instead people seem to want to see survival game with no strange enemies.

At the end of the video it states that the game will arrive in Spring 2011, let’s hope Ubisoft reveal more details pretty soon, in the mean-time check out the I Am Alive homepage.
