It has been reported that General Motors have recalled over 160,000 Hummer H3 vehicles manufactured from the years 2006 up until 2010.

According to Kicking Tires the recall is due to a potential defect in the hood that could cause it to detach while being driven. Quite a serious design fault I’d say.

A release from Autoblog says that “The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration is warning H3 owners to be on the lookout for any vibration of the louver assembly, as that may be an indicator that a failure is likely. A total of 162,000 Hummers are covered under the recall, and General Motors says that technicians will apply an adhesive in order to keep the louvers from coming loose at no cost.”

If you are a Hummer H3 owner, and want some answers to your questions regarding your vehicle, you better contact Hummer right away on 800-732-5493 or call the NHTSA recall hotline at 888-327-4236.
