There are a number of reasons you might want to see the Huawei Ascend Mate vs. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 in a hands-on close up, and of course some people might want to see how much bigger the Ascend Mate is when compared visually to the iPhone 5. The Apple phone has been gaining criticism over the last year for its small size, which is increased even more now that phablets are gaining in popularity.

Huawei Ascend Mate vs. Galaxy Note 2 and iPhone 5 visually – we managed to track down a few videos from CES 2013 that not only show a close up of the Ascend Mate, but also take a quick look at how the 6.1-inch smartphone, aka phablet, looks side-by-side with the Galaxy Note 2 and iPhone 5. These video comparisons can be seen below this article, although if you only want to see a visual review roundup of the Ascend Mate then you need to see this article with 5 videos.

The first video runs for just over 3 minutes and features the Huawei Ascend Mate vs. Galaxy Note 2 as well as explaining the main specs for the new 6.1-inch phablet. We also have another perspective on the Galaxy Note 2 vs. Ascend Mate in this second video that runs for almost 6 minutes, and it is interesting to see these phones side-by-side considering it had been the Note 2 that was previously considered too big by some people.

Lastly our favorite video is seeing the iPhone 5 vs. Ascend Mate, and considering we’ve owned every iPhone since the first generation, it is a reality check for us that the 4-inch tall display might need another option in 2013. Would you like to see a bigger iPhone 5S / 6 display size this year?

Over the course of CES this year we have seen a number of tech enthusiasts and technology websites get hands-on with the Huawei Ascend Mate in a quick review, which we wanted to feature some of our favorites below this article. Huawei’s new 6.1-inch Ascend Mate is one of the biggest phablets on the market today, so let us get close up and see how big it really looks in someone’s hand.

Huawei Ascend Mate visual review roundup – we have included a number of videos on this page that were taken at CES 2013 and feature a number of perspectives on the Huawei Ascend Mate. Some people that got hands-on feel that the 6.1-inch Ascend Mate is too big for making phone calls, so should only really be used for tablet type tasks. Then of course you have the growing market for a device that does everything with a big display, which is where phablets shine compared to tablets thanks to the ability to easily make phone calls and perform all the tablet tasks as well on a 5-inch plus display.

Take a look at the video collection and let us know what you think about the Huawei Ascend Mate after watching the hands-on reviews from CES, although you can count on some more detailed reviews in the coming months after we get to spend a few days with the phablet. Then we will know exactly how the Huawei Ascend Mate performs in real-world tests after an in-depth review.

Huawei Ascend Mate – too big or the perfect all-in-one mobile device? If you want to read more about the Ascend Mate specs then see our earlier article that features the main details.
