For those of you who own a T-mobile G2 (HTC Vision), then you would have been happy with an OTA of Android 2.2 Froyo. However, with the extra bump in software performance it was time for a hardware bump. It seems that it is possible for the processor to go from 800MHz to 1.42GHz.

We would never recommend overclocking your cell phone, but this is a huge increase of just over 80 percent. However, I am not certain how long I would want to run my smartphone at that speed? Do not expect to get the best out of the battery though, that would drain faster than a Bugatti Veyron goes through its gasoline while doing over 250mph.

While watching the video below you will see how the mod begins by increasing the CPU to 1GHz. Things seemed to go smoothly, so it was a continuous push until the magic 1.42GHz was reached. I wonder if the G2 will run as hot as an old Xbox 360?

For those who thought that an 80% speed increase was good, then you will be shocked to know that there is room for even more speed – just do not try it on your phone.

Would you ever try to overclock your cell phone?

If you are a HTC fan, I’m sure that you are interested in all the latest news, rumors, specs, and tentative names of future releases that the smartphone company have up their secret sleeves.

If you have read our first article detailing information about the Desire HD/Ace, Glacier, Fiesta, Paradise, and the Schubert — welcome back! If not, check it out here.

HTC Vision/Desire Z – Also known as the G1 Blaze (according to Engadget), the Vision was first revealed in a manufacturer’s forward release list and if it is to be believed, will be released sometime in October 2010. Specs are said to include a 3.7-inch screen, 1GHz processor, Android 2.1 and HTC Sense.

HTC Gold – Yet another HTC Windows Phone 7 device to hit the market. Launching in November (supposedly), the Gold was another device alongside the Schubert that was noticed in a leaked ROM in June, with rumors pointing towards a release on Sprint in the US, and in the UK for a yet unknown carrier.

HTC Sabor – Thought to be one of the most advanced of the rumors. The Sabor hypes up Android 3.0 with a 2GHz processor, and comes with 4G compatibility. Therefore making a UK release unlikely. Sabor is not thought to make an appearance until the very end of the year.

HTC LED – How good does that sound? The LED moniker does not suggest what HTC will be up to with this device, whether it would come with some sort of LED customization and navigation, or could LED stand for something completely irrelevant?

Although very little is known about the HTC LED, it was discovered in May alongside the HTC Vision and the HTC Glacier, two phones we spoke about, with the Glacier in a previous article.

A screenshot was taken by a ‘reliable’ tipster, who then forwarded it on to Engadget. This is the same person who correctly predicted the Legend and the Incredible some months before they were officially unveiled. So take that as you will.

Are you looking forward to any of the rumored HTC devices? Remember to check out our other article detailing 5 other rumored HTC devices.

If you head over to Engadget, you’ll be able to see a new image of the device, which shows the HTC Vision with the HTC branding replaced by the T-Mobile logo.

Specs remain sparse at the moment, with the only details revealing a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz processor and a slide-out qwerty keyboard.

We’re not sure if the handset is headed to T-Mobile in the UK, or T-Mobile USA – once we find out though, we’ll let you know. What are your thoughts on the possible name change? Do you prefer G1 Blaze to Vision?

We have some more details on the HTC Vision smartphone for you now, another Android-powered handset which will be available to buy from T-Mobile USA in a few months time.

As reported from Phandroid, we have now learned that the HTC Vision, also codenamed as the Vanguard, will be T-Mobile’s first handset which will have support for their HSPA+ data speeds.

Phandroid state that T-Mobile’s HSPA+ won’t be quite as good as 4G speeds, but those of you in supported areas will still be able to enjoy speeds of up to 21Mbps – which isn’t bad is it?

Furthermore, you’ll be pleased to know that the handset will be available sometime in September, which is a bit earlier than some of you were expecting.

Are you interested in the HTC Vision or not?

Back in late May we revealed that another HTC smartphone may be under development, this handset was called the HTC Vision and was rumored to feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Thanks to a recent article posted on Engadget we can now confirm that this early rumor was in fact correct, not only this but we have a leaked photo and some specifications.

The leaked photo (here) confirms that the HTC Vision will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and will run Google Android 2.1, which should be exciting news for fans of the HTC Touch Pro 2.

Engadget state that the Vision will feature a 3.7-inch display and a 1GHz processor (perhaps Snapdragon), the Android OS will feature HTC’s popular Sense UI, which should keep things looking pretty.

At the moment none of this has been officially confirmed, therefore we will have to keep you posted as we find out more, in the mean time check out the source link below.

We have some exciting news for HTC fans now, as another Android-based handset is rumored to be in existance. It is called the HTC Vision and is thought to come with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

As reported from BGR, the Vision is rumored to have the exact same specs as the very impressive HTC Desire, with the slide-out QWERTY keyboard as a notable exception.

Furthermore, the handset is likely to be heading to T-Mobile, although whether this is T-Mobile in Europe or USA is unknown at the moment.

There is also the debate on which OS this will ship with. Considering that it is unlikely to be released until the end of 2010, we expect this handset to be rocking Froyo 2.2.
