We can bring you a brief summary of details on how to install the update and what some of the changes are.

The update is fairly simple to install, and you will need to visit the HTC site first to download the appropriate update file for your phone. It is also recommended that you back up all of the files on your phone just for safety measures in case a fault occurs during the update process.

In order to install the update, you need to have Microsoft ActiveSync® installed on your Windows XP PC or Windows Mobile Device Center on your Windows Vista® PC, connect your HTC Touch Pro to the computer through either program, and then copy the downloaded update (as a .exe file) to your device, once the .exe file is on your Touch Pro simply tap the file and follow the on-screen instructions.

It is nice to see HTC bringing updates for older phone models considering there are newer and more popular phones on the market at the moment. Have you installed the update, are there many noticeable changes?

This update is a pretty minor ROM update called ‘MR2′ (maintenance ROM 2), this update should make day-to-day usage a bit more bearable, especially as it features an improved version of the HTC Sense UI.

Once you have installed the update you will probably notice a few new changes, these include Visual Voice Mail, improved VZ Navigator performance, better daylight saving auto-configuration, tethering support, improved word prediction and auto-correction and a new compact QWERTY keyboard option.
