If you are not impressed by the latest Android and iOS offerings you may want to check out a new Windows Phone 7 smartphone, well today we can finally confirm details regarding AT&T’s HTC Titan release.

The official AT&T website has revealed that as of November 20 the HTC Titan will be available for $199.99. Perhaps it’s most noticeable feature is the massive 4.7-inch display, this will be great for Microsoft Office-related tasks and obviously perfect for watching movies on.

So what else are you getting for your money? Well, the Titan runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango out of the box and features a 1.5GHz single-core processor, 512 MB RAM, an 8 megapixel camera on the rear, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of storage (maximum of roughly 12GB available to the user), WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1600 mAh battery – you can see full specs here.

When compared to some of today’s dual-core powerhouses it is hard to see the Titan selling well, however Windows Phone 7 differs greatly when compared to Android and iOS in terms of requirements, in fact it runs very well on relatively mediocre hardware. What we are trying to say is don’t be too put off by the 1.5GHz single-core chip, in reviews Engadget and TechRadar had nothing bad to say about battery life or general speed.

Currently AT&T also sell the Samsung Focus for the same price as the proposed price as the HTC Titan, with a less impressive camera, smaller display, slower processor and no front-facing camera we think that the Focus will drop in price soon – the Titan is a much better option.

Will you buy the AT&T HTC Titan?

We are now drawing closer to the release of the iPhone 5 or whatever name it will be called. For those consumers who have set their heart on getting the next iPhone, none of the other good looking devices will sway most of them away from Apple’s new flagship device. There are some rather good looking Android and Windows handsets just about to come out, or in the pipeline to be released around the same time as the next iPhone. So today we are looking at four handsets to take on the iPhone 5 release.

One device that has now got a lunch date in the US is the Samsung Galaxy S II, and is a device that has sold really well in places it is already available. In the US the device will be getting LTE from the off, even though the technology is being added to in other areas next year. The device comes running Android Gingerbread powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.

There is also an eight megapixel shooter, while the Sprint and T-mobile versions have a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display and the AT&T model has 4.3-inch. Many consumers have been waiting for the much delayed Motorola Droid Bionic to finally hit the shelves, but it may be too late for this handset as the Motorola Droid HD has been spotted.

What is known of the device so far is a screen size of 4.5-inches with 1280 x 720 resolutions. This also has an eight megapixel camera and is also thought to be around the same thickness as the Galaxy S II. Although not an Android device the HTC Titan looks a fully featured cell phone. It is on the large side though with a huge 4.7-inch display and again is very thin at only 0.39 of an inch.

This is also powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and has 16GB of on board storage, and again an eight megapixel camera can be found, and will be running the latest Windows Phone Mango software. If you don’t want to own a tablet PC and a smartphone the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note may be the device for you. This comes with a massive 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display, and is only slightly thicker than the Galaxy S II.

It is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor running Android Gingerbread OS, and power is supplied via a hefty 2,500mA Li-on battery. Release dates have yet to be announced but there are rumors the device won’t be making it to the US. So if an iPhone is not your thing there are plenty of other choices available to you.

What smartphone will you be purchasing next?

While the Android and iPhone platform are the biggest players in the smartphone market, the Windows Phone 7 is relativity young but has a growing number of fans. The much publicized update has been on the cards for a while now and it has just launched on two new handsets. The HTC Radar and Titan with Windows Phone Mango arrive.

The flagship device is the Titan which was known as the Eternity, and is the largest Windows Phone so far at 4.7-inches. It is a nice slim device at only 0.39 of an inch. According to PCAdvisor the two handsets will be available next month in Europe and then Asia. There were no details of pricing or if the devices would make it to US shores.

The launch of the handsets comes ahead of the Microsoft and Nokia tie up, but Nokia isn’t expected to start shipping high volumes of their handsets until next year. Both of the HTC devices have an aluminum chassis similar to the Desire and Sensation.

Other features of the Titan include a powerful 1.5GHz processor with 16GB of on board storage and 512MB of RAM. Meanwhile the Radar, once known as the Omega, has a 1GHZ processor and 8GB of built-in storage and 512MB of RAM. It has a smaller display coming in at 3.8-inches.

Camera wise the Titan has an 8-megapixel shooter with the Radar has a respectable 5-megapixel camera. Both handsets can take HD video through the 28mm wide-angle lenses. The Mango update is adding 500 new features to the OS, which includes a mobile version of IE9.

Users will be able to share documents that are created in Microsoft Office via Office 365, and there is also multitasking. Currently there are around 30,000 apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace, which is way behind the likes of the Android Market and Apple’s App Store.
Do you like the look of the new HTC handsets?
