If you missed the article, you can read it again here. We don’t have a list of confirmed features for the update yet, but according to this report from BGR, ‘expected’ features include the ability to copy and paste text, custom ringtones (finally), multitasking from third-parties, a free bing GPS app and much more.

The features above sound good indeed, but many will argue that they should have been on WP7 handsets at launch. Still though, better late than never. Hopefully Microsoft confirm this huge update for us so Windows Phone 7 owners can start getting excited.

If you currently own a Windows Phone 7 handset, let us know a list of features you want to see on your handset the most.

Both the HTC Surround and LG Quantum will set you back just $0.01 as part of a two-year deal with AT&T, if you was to buy the HTC Surround direct from AT&T today (here) it would set you back $199.99 for the same deal, likewise the LG Quantum will also cost you $199.99 (here).

We have a video to show you evidence of this.

As reported from Engadget, a hands-on video of the upcoming HTC Surround has surfaced over at PocketNow, in which they specifcally guide users through the various default ringtones available on the handset.

However, after watching the video,you may be surprised to hear that there isn’t an option to set a custom ringtone, so if you plan to buy one at launch, you’ll have to make use of one of the preset tones.

This could be a deal breaker for some of you, especially to those who would like to at least have the option to add their favorite 80s track on their smartphone.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this a major issue for you or not?

As Engadget reports, this handset has been codenamed the HTC ‘Knight’, and the first alleged picture of the device can be seen below courtesy of the XDA Developers Forums.

Not much is known about this handset, although the picture does suggest that the four touchscreen buttons located at the bottom of the device will serve as primary navigation buttons.

Furthermore, we’re also hearing that the HTC Knight will feature a slide-out design, although whether this is a slide-out QWERTY or something entirely different remains to be seen. It could even be the Sprint version of the WP7 HTC Surround, as that comes with a slide-out surround sound speaker.

We’ll keep you updated on this one.

This one may have just slid under the radar on first impressions, but that’s not to say we were not curious about it.

One thing is for sure, this is not your regular smartphone, but could very well be one of the most luxurious media-player based devices that you can currently buy.

The HTC Surround lives up to it’s name. It has Dolby Mobile and SRS Wow “virtual surround” audio processing, 16GB of internal memory, Zune integration and although it is a slider, there is no keyboard hiding behind that sexy exterior. Instead, what you get is a aluminium speaker with integrated kickstand so it can keep upright.

Of course, it looks like a HTC so any HTC fan looking for a media device should definitely give this a look. Although reports do suggest that no matter how much you want mobile speakers to deliver “surround sound,” it simply wont happen.

Overall, the HTC surround is a fine bit of hardware but if you are looking for more phone functionality, you are better to look at HTC’s other Windows Phone 7 options. But if media is your thing, don’t be mistaken and check this one out for yourself.

As reported from BGR, Best Buy has managed to strike a deal, which will see the recently announced HTC Surround, Dell Streak, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Samsung Fascinate arrive at their stores later on this month.

While the Windows Phone 7-equipped HTC Surround is exciting enough for most, the X10 and Samsung Fascinate are equally as exciting, as you can buy them in stylish white models.

The White Fascinate, Dell Streak and White X10 will all be available on October 24th, while the HTC Surround will be available next month, on November 8th.

As reported from Engadget, the HTC Surround is gathering quite a lot of interest, as not only is it one of the Windows Phone 7 launch handsets, but it also comes with a unique slide out surround sound speaker from Dolby.

Best Buy has stated that customers can now pre-order the device on AT&T, ready for shipping on Monday 8th November. It will be available on a two-year contract for $199, but those wishing to buy it off-contract will have to pay $550.

The HTC Surround is definitely one of the more ‘desirable’ Windows Phone 7 handsets, so we imagine a lot of you are interested in this one.
