We say ‘officially’, as we all know that this handset has had its fair share of leaks over the past couple of weeks.

It was only yesterday that we showed you a Sprint inventory leak, which listed the Supersonic in their database – meaning that they already have it in their possession and must be prepping it for release soon.

Are you looking forward to hearing more about Sprint’s first WiMax phone later today? It should be announced at CTIA Wireless, so we’ll update you soon as we get details.

As reported from GadgetsDNA, the image which you can see below comes direct from a Sprint dealer, who has pinpointed the HTC A9292 listing as the highly anticipated HTC Supersonic smartphone.

If you didn’t know already, consumers are making a pretty big deal out of the Supersonic, since it is the first 4G WIMAX supported handset by Sprint. Even Sprint themselves have used the Apple iPhone to show the possibilities of their 4G network, in a recent Ad here.

Lets hope Sprint put us all out of our misery and officially announce the HTC SuperSonic at CTIA Wireless Show 2010.

That is according to this report from BGR, who are claiming that the Supersonic will be announced and unveiled by Sprint at the CTIA event next week.

Despite being leaked in various photos and videos this past month, exact specs are still unknown, although we do know that the handset will be Sprint’s first WiMAX smartphone and will run on Android operating system.

We’ll keep you up to date when we know more. Let us know your thoughts on a possible release next week.

As reported from BGR, the video has surfaced over at AndroidMobileOS, and gives us a ‘very brief’ but interesting look at the handset in the wild.

If you didnt know already, the HTC Supersonic will be available on Sprint in the first half of this year, and it will also be Sprint’s first Android WiMAX handset available on sale.

No word on price or a release date yet, but we’ll keep you up to date. Watch the video below and let us know what you think of it.

However, what we did not tell you was the fact that the smartphone comes with Android 3.0. We have to wonder how the Droid and the Nexus One will be able to handle the competition.

Not much is known about the HTC Supersonic, but we do know that the handset will come with 32GB of extendable storage as well as a 5-megapixel camera. Videos that you shoot on your camera came be uploaded direct to YouTube.

These are Droids reported last month that Sprint has already begun testing the Supersonic, with most of the bugs being removed from the month before. They had assumed that it will come with Android 2.1, but it is Mobile Gadget News that reports that the OS is to be the newer Android 3.0.

As news and information is still hard to come by we will just have to wait for HTC, Sprint or Google to offer us some information.

It is thought that this first 4G (WiMax) smartphone will run Google’s Android OS, from what we can see this handset will be manufactured by HTC and aptly named the HTC Supersonic.

Definite specifications regarding the Supersonic are not yet known, however it seems that the handset will defiantly feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor whilst utizlizing HTC’s Sense UI along with a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen display.

It is still unclear as to when this handset will be launched on Sprint, however when it does launch it’s WiMax should offer speeds of between 3 and 6 Mbit/sec.
