Earlier on we told you about a potential EU release date for the highly anticipated HTC M7 flagship phone, based on a supposed leaked poster surfacing from France. Now we have some interesting rumors to share with you on the final name for the device, as it is widely expected that M7 will not be the chosen name for the device upon release.

The device will eventually be shown off at a glamorous event on February 19, away from the hustle and bustle that is MWC 2013 which will take place between February 25-28 in Barcelona. While we have seen plenty of potential spec leaks and various renders for the phone, we haven’t had any information on what the final name for the device will be, until now.

A rumor provided by the usually reliable Evleaks claims that the M7 will be unveiled officially as the HTC ‘One’. This will raise one or two alarm bells immediately, as you should know that HTC already has a device called the One X out on the market now. What good would a ‘backtrack’ be in naming the new 2013 device as the One when the One X was already released almost a year ago?

The One X would be pictured as a successor to the HTC One, but HTC may be doing the direct opposite of this, naturally creating a lot of confusion in the process. There were suggestions that the M7 could turn out to be another device in the existing One X line, but how many would have predicted that the phone could simply arrive as the HTC One?

It is by no means official yet, but something to be perhaps wary of as we await HTC’s event on February 19. Let us know what you think about it, assuming that the information is true. Any HTC One X owners out there scratching their heads over this?

It seems as if smartphone enthusiasts are in for a real treat over the next couple of months. BlackBerry has just launched their new collection of BlackBerry 10 smartphones in Europe and now focus switches to Samsung and HTC for their respective reveals for the highly anticipated Galaxy S4 and M7 handsets.

Both devices are officially on the way, with Samsung rumored to be showing off their device on March 15 and HTC having already scheduled an official launch event on February 19. HTC’s device has again showed up this week in an apparent leaked retail advertisement, and it could be a good indication on when the HTC M7 will go on sale in the UK and other parts of Europe.

The scan provided by this French website claims that the HTC M7 will be available in Europe on March 8, a date that has already been mentioned in the past as one possible launch date for the company. A price of 650 Euros has also been attached to the image, which for those interested converts to around £550 and $870 US.

Don’t forget though that you can never take into account direct currency conversations and it would be almost impossible to see the M7 arrive in the US off contract for more than $800. On top of all that, the authenticity of the image is being put into question as we speak, so it’s a good idea to take both the March 8 date and the potential price in Euros, with a very large pinch of salt.

What we do see though is another glance of rumored specs for the M7, including a 13 megapixel camera, 32GB of storage, NFC, Sense 5.0 UI, 4G LTE capabilities and a 4.7-inch HD screen. At least we don’t have to wait long until HTC’s event finally gets underway – let us know your initial impressions of the device so far.

Are you considering buying one in the UK and US?

There’s no denying that the HTC M7 is the next big handset and no doubt many of you will be wanting to get one the moment your carrier allows. The problem here is that not all carriers will be stocking this smartphone, with Verizon being one of them, which to us was a real shock. However, news of the Droid DNA Plus release could be Verizon’s answer to the HTC M7.

If we are to believe the latest rumor then the M7 could get a new name on Big Red and be re-branded as the DLXPLUS instead, something that we have seen happen time and again with other handsets. However, until we get official confirmation this could be an entirely different handset, but those specs do look the same as the M7.

While the specs may be the same there’s no getting away from the fact that Verizon could have shot themselves in the foot with the name because Droid DNA DLXPLUS doesn’t roll off the tongue and sound so cool as M7; it’s like a codename for a spy and not a motorway in England.

It’s clear that in terms of the M7 specs there does seem to be something overlooked by HTC, and that is expandable memory. This could be a deciding factor and force potential buyers into the arms of another handset, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is said to be released as early as April, just a month behind the HTC M7.

February 19 is said to be the magic date when the M7 will be announced and should be released on March 8, although we’re not too certain if the DLXPLUS will share the same release date.

We have another twist in the upcoming HTC M7 release saga to tell you about now, and it’s not potentially good news for those of you on Verizon Wireless. Early rumors indicated that HTC’s upcoming flagship handset would be hitting AT&T, Verizon and Sprint upon release, skipping T-Mobile in the process. Now though, we’re hearing that it actually may be Big Red that could be in the firing line instead.

As we’ve told you in the past, the HTC M7 is due to be announced on February 19, at a special event in New York City. Over the weekend we told you how HTC’s CEO Peter Chou couldn’t even wait until that event to show off the device, as images have shown him whipping the M7 out to take pictures of an audience during an event in Taiwan.

The official release date for the device is expected to be announced as March 8, but it looks like Verizon may be last to the party once again, with the M7 now rumored to be arriving on Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile first. HTCSource has published a recent article claiming that the Verizon release for the M7 has been ‘delayed’ and one of the main reasons for this is because Big Red still want to push the HTC Droid DNA first since it’s still a relatively new smartphone.

Verizon customers who are interested in the M7 won’t want to hear any excuses though, especially since they were last to the party with the infamous Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release. Verizon obviously hasn’t said anything on this claim though since the device is still unofficial, but it does seem logical for the Droid DNA to get a little more spotlight first before making way for the next big thing.

As a Verizon customer who is interested in the upgrade, what are your thoughts on this new potential delay for the HTC M7? Does this now change your plans to opt for a different Android smartphone instead?

As you know HTC is to hold a press event on February 19 to officially unveil their new flagship handset, but there was a treat in store for those who attended the company’s end of year party, as the CEO took to the stage with the HTC M7 in his hand, which was caught on camera and in no time at all made its way to YouTube. That’s not all; it looks as though there are two other handsets coming as well, the M4 and G2.

Going back to the other story first because while on stage HTC’s CEO heard chants from the crowd saying M7, M7 and so he took the phone out and decided to give the camera a little test. You cannot get much from the images, but you should just make out the form factor, although we also had video footage of these from the front and rear parts.

Once HTC unveils their M7 flagship handset this will then pave the way for two more handsets, the mid-range M4 and the entry-level G2 and the specs have also been spotted as well. There are several sources to suggest that these will be launched alongside the M7, but this is highly unlikely because they could take the shine away from their flagship model.

Looking at the HTC M4 specs this a decent device, although the hardware is a step lower than the M7, which is to be expected. If the rumor is true then we can expect a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapgragon processor, a 4.3-inch display, 16GB storage, 2GB of RAM and comes installed with Android jelly bean 4.2.

As for the HTC G2 particulars a 1GHz Arm Cortex chip should keep things running alongside 512MB of RAM and 4GB storage. Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 should be the OS of choice. What do you think of these two leaked smartphones from HTC?

We finally have some exciting information for those of you who are looking forward to picking up the elusive HTC M7 which is getting everyone talking at the moment. We previously told you that the device is scheduled to appear on three of the four major carriers in the US. Now there are fresh rumors suggesting that the HTC M7 will be available to buy in the first week of March, coming in two color varieties as well.

To remind you, HTC has now officially confirmed that they will be holding their own press event on February 19, instead of attending the annual MWC 2013 expo in Barcelona. There were rumors that this would be happening as HTC look to have the spotlight solely on them and now it’s been confirmed to be true.

Although the company hasn’t said that they’ll be showing off in New York City, it’s safe to say that this will be the date when we’ll finally see the HTC M7 unveiled. This week, a rumor expands on this by suggesting that the device will then go on sale following the event on March 8.

Furthermore, consumers may be able to choose between black colors and also a white and silver HTC M7 as well upon release. We’ve seen plenty of picture leaks for the black version, but we’re yet to see an official image of what the white M7 looks like though – it must be lovely in the flesh.

For a device that is rumored to be equipped with a 1080p display close to 5-inches, a 13MP rear camera and a 1.7Ghz quad-core chip, the only other phone that may come close to matching it in hardware power could be the Samsung Galaxy S4 – but Samsung are still remaining silent on when we will possibly see it.

Mark the March 8 date down until things change and let us know if you are seriously considering the HTC M7 as your next smartphone purchase.

Even before MWC there are countless leaks appearing on the Internet in regards to the HTC M7, and those of you who are interested in this upcoming handset may be interested to know that there is now a HTC M7 comparison video, which helps to highlight its design my putting some of the parts up against previous smartphones from the Taiwanese manufacturer.

It looks as though someone has been able to obtain what is believed to be the front and rear-housing parts for the HTC M7 and as a way to show you the differences from other handsets ETrade Supply has used the Droid DNA and the HTC One X as a perfect comparison. You’ll notice right away just how much thinner the M7 is when compared to those handsets and has gone for a more conventional straight design.

While you’ll notice a few new additions with the M7, such as a dedicated camera button it does lack in other areas, like the waterproof ability of the Droid DNA. While this may not be a huge deal to some of you, others will now have to purchase a third-party case in order to give them the protection from water

There are also noticeable differences to the rear of the M7 case, such as the flash being in a different position and the Beats logo looking a little different. Watch the video below for a full analysis on the front and rear HTC M7 parts. Thankfully we don’t have that long to wait until the M7 gets its official unveil because as we recently reported HTC will make the announcement in London ahead of MWC.

Are you excited about the upcoming release of the HTC M7? The elusive new flagship from HTC has yet to be revealed in an official capacity, but everyone knows the phone is on the way soon after a plethora of recent leaks. We have been giving you snippets of information on the new Sense user interface that will be included on the device, and now we’re pleased to say that we can now bring you images of the HTC M7 lock screen, as well as the first page of apps layout.

At the moment, the device is thought to be on the way for an unveil at MWC 2013 in Barcelona, however there’s also rumors that an event may take place before to give the device more spotlight. We also hear that the M7 is on the way to three out of the four major carriers in the US, with AT&T, Verizon and AT&T all thought to be offering HTC’s device to their respective customers leaving T-Mobile as the only company yet to commit – based on rumors remember.

A lot of consumers who have already seen HTC Sense 5 UI leaked have not been too keen on the new software so far, but these new clear images that we have to show you does paint the new UI in a more positive light. Firstly, take a look at the lock screen which has been provided courtesy of the XDA Developer Forums.

You’ll see that the lock screen has a more minimalist approach to it, with HTC just placing emphasis on the digital clock, date, location and weather. We’ve read feedback on how a lot of you dislike the supposed font for Sense 5, but we actually like it and it’s sure to grow on people once the handset is finally unveiled.

A second image shows what the first row of apps will look like and again, it all looks very slick. This time the lock screen daily information has been pushed up to the top of the screen, leaving 4 rows of apps and a max size of 16 in total per page. You’ll find a collection of other sneak peek shots of Sense 5 here and we think it is looking rather good – contrary to the complaints that are coming out on the likes of Twitter and YouTube.

What are your general impressions of Sense 5 based on what you have seen? Are you happy to buy the handset and stick to Sense 5, or will you be tempted to customize when the opportunity arises?

Are you getting excited about the HTC M7 yet? The handset has yet to be revealed by HTC officially, but with the amount of leaks we’ve had in the past few weeks, it’s clear that the company’s new flagship is due to drop any moment. The M7 was heavily rumored to be set for a reveal at MWC 2013 in Barcelona next month, but we’ve since learned that HTC may be planning to introduce the device sooner.

The HTC Droid DNA was a great handset and gained considerable interest due to its inclusion of a 5-inch 1080p display screen, one of the first handsets to tout this ability before others soon arrived. The device ultimately came in for a bit of criticism over the lack of MicroSD support, meaning that consumers only had 16GB to utilize – less than that if you consider system resources.

That means that there is even more emphasis on the M7 being the true flagship device that consumers can really be proud to own ahead of the upcoming barrage of Samsung smartphones and an inevitable new iPhone as well. Aside from a 1080p full HD display, we’re also hearing that the M7 may take a page out of Apple’s book and include some aluminum materials on the back casing of the device.

MWC 2013 starts on February 25 and the M7 was expected to be one of the highlights of the annual expo. Instead, new speculation has begun that HTC wants to show off the M7 all on its own, with a separate event allegedly taking place on February 19. This would obviously give the spotlight to the M7 and the M7 alone, with no chance of perhaps being overshadowed by any other surprise smartphone announcements that may happen at the event in Barcelona.

We think it is a good move if it happens and a logical one at that to give the HTC M7 that added sense of pizzazz and glamour. Let us know if you are seriously considering this handset to be your next smartphone purchase. What other specs to you need to see first?

The mystery HTC M7 smartphone has become a big talking point over the last few weeks, with the device thought to be HTC’s first notable release of 2013. We have previously informed you that it will ship with Sense UI 5.0, but now we can bring you a first glance of what the design of the phone may look like. If you liked the design of the already-released 8X, you should love what HTC are planning with the M7.

At the moment, the phone is unannounced and after missing out on an appearance at CES 2013, we should now see the device officially unveiled at MWC 2013, which takes place in Barcelona next month. The M7 is thought to be another 1080p device, although the display size may be around 4.7-inches, not 5 as we saw in the Droid DNA release on Verizon Wireless.

Other rumored specs of the device are thought to include a 13 megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, a quad-core processor, 32GB of internal storage and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera – so nice hardware specs all round if true. We’re also hearing that on top of Sense 5, will be the latest version of Android Jelly Bean, which at the moment is 4.2.

As for the design, feast your eyes on an alleged ‘official’ render above, which has been provided courtesy of HTC Source. You can see that the design is very similar to the Droid DNA and 8X, but almost an amalgamation of the two together. The large camera sensor that we saw on the 8X and Droid DNA appears to be back for the M7, while there’s also confirmation once again of the ongoing partnership between HTC and Beats Audio.

Capacitive buttons are also returning for the M7 it seems, while the overall design of the device looks a lot more polished than the 8X and Droid DNA, but bear in mind this is all based off a render. Is it legitimate or has it just been knocked up in five minutes on Photoshop?

Hopefully HTC will give us the answers soon, but either way consumers are in for a treat with this and the Galaxy S4 on the way soon.
