Earlier this week we brought you news of the HTC Trophy being released on Verizon Wireless this month as their first Windows Phone. Today we have more news for those of you interested in the HTC line, as AT&T are to launch the HD7S.

The news comes via their Facebook page where a price and release date was announced. It will be the fourth Windows 7 device for the network and will be available for customers from June 5th. We first heard about the HD7S when we brought you news of its announcement at CTIA 2011.

In the article we explained how the handset was an upgraded version of the HTC HD7, except it would be packing a brighter display. This is due to its sharp Super LCD display. As well as its impressive 4.3” touchscreen, the HD7S features a dual-LED flash 5mp camera and a 1GHz processor.

AT&T is listing the device as coming with a 2 year contract for $200. You can read more about the launch in the article at BGR by clicking the link.

Will you be getting the HTC HD7S Windows Phone? What do you think of the device? Let us know in the comments below.

Earlier on we informed you that Microsoft were planning to release their ‘NoDo’ update for Window Phone 7 users towards the end of March, but now we have some fantastic news for those of you who own the HTC HD7 handset.

It turns out that HTC HD7 owners won’t have to wait until the NoDo update releases end of March, because one clever individual has leaked the upcoming build for the HTC HD7, and it’s available to download now for those with the European version of the handset, as reported from BGR.

You’ll find the .exe download over at XDA Developers Forums, but we’ve taken a look at the all of the user comments and although this version is confirmed to be working, it doesn’t look like an easy task for beginners to attempt.

With this in mind, we advise all European HD7 owners to attempt this install with caution, as we don’t want to be responsible for bricked handsets. Having said that, it’s pretty amazing that the forum user has released this to everyone with weeks to go before Microsoft push it out officially – we’re not sure they are seeing the funny side of it though.

If you have attempted such mods before on your HD7, try out the NoDo update now and let us know how you get on with it. If you’re successful, leave us a message below so others can follow.

We have an update for those of you who are still patiently waiting for Microsoft to deliver their copy and paste update. We presumed it would release at the start of the year, i.e last month, but it still hasn’t happened – somewhat leaving users in the dark.

The good news, is that we have a new release date for you to jot down. Although sadly, this isn’t an official date by Microsoft either. As reported from Engadget, the new date for the copy and paste update is Tuesday March 8th according to a few websites.

While it’s good if the update happens on this date, we can’t help but feel a little disappointed that Microsoft hasn’t been more vocal about future firmware updates for Windows Phone 7 devices. After all, WP7 is a brand new platform and Microsoft should be doing all they can to ensure customers stay put rather than jump ship to perhaps more glamorous handsets on the way this year.

If you have been waiting for copy and paste features on your WP7 handset, let us know your thoughts on this. Have you learned to live without it, or is it a feature that you still need badly?

We have some good news for those of you with a Windows Phone 7 handset, as we have some more details on the first major update which is thought to be on the way for devices soon. If recent rumors are true, the update could be happening next month.

As reported from BGR, specific details on the update are very scarce at the moment, but the tech site has picked up upon the fact that Microsoft has already listed an article, which informs users what to do should an update encounter problems whilst installing.

The article is dated January 27th, and you can view it freely via Microsoft’s support page here. We knew that an update for Windows Phone 7 was due out in January, but it never happened – so could this information from Microsoft suggest that the update is finally set in stone for February? – let’s hope so.

A possible update in February is further backed up by this article we’ve come across over at WMPowerUser, which reveals that the rumored release date for the update is February 7th – a Monday just for your reference. Hopefully we’ll be able to bring you more news on this soon. You may also want to read our previous, but very relevant article here, as it gives you information on forthcoming WP7 updates, which are codenamed ‘Mango’ and ‘Apollo’.

We are once again hearing about potential antenna problems on handsets, or the ‘death grip’ as it’s more commonly known, as it looks like the recently launched HTC HD7 from Microsoft is the next handset to receive criticism from users.

You won’t need us to remind you about the death grip problems on the iPhone 4, but a fresh report from BGR has included a response from HTC over claims that call quality is being affected by HTC HD7 owners when holding the handset in a certain way.

HTC has admitted that call quality may dip a little if a user placed his or her hands close to where the antenna is located, but the company did say that they have placed the antenna in a location where it is least likely to be covered by the user. They then say that they are happy that calling quality on the HTC HD7 is ‘more than sufficient’ providing that network coverage is up to scratch as well.

What are your thoughts on this? If you have a HTC HD7 handset, let us know what you make of the call quality. Is it worth getting worried about or not?

We have some good news for those of you patiently waiting for the arrival of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 devices on Verizon Wireless, as we have a statement from the carrier themselves regarding the situation.

As reported from Engadget, Verizon was quizzed on Twitter by a user asking the direct question on when the carrier would finally put Microsoft’s new devices on sale.

Verizon responded to the user with the following statement: ”As soon as Microsoft has ‘em ready, we’re excited to offer Windows 7 mobile devices”

It is rather interesting that the carrier preferred to call Windows Phone 7 devices ‘Windows 7 mobile devices’, but the obvious message in their statement above, is that they are waiting on Microsoft to get things moving.

Don’t forget that devices are already available to buy on other carriers in the US, so we still may not see a release on Verizon until well into 2011. Let us know your thoughts on this.

We have some worrying news to bring you now, as although Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 devices have only just launched in the US, we are already hearing of a few notable problems which are affecting some handsets.

According to this report from BGR, users have been complaining about a specific problem related to the WiFi feature on some devices. Apparently, users are having trouble connecting to protected networks, with the Dell Venue Pro and HTC HD7 the handsets which have been singled out.

So far, we don’t know if this is a problem specific to these handsets, or if it’s an issue which is affecting all WP7 handsets, if the latter is the case, then Microsoft will obviously need to look into it. If you have been experiencing this WiFi issue, tell us about it below or head to BGR for further details.

If you have suffered a different problem on your new Windows Phone 7 handset, we’d like to know as well.

If you were looking to buy the HTC HD7 from T-Mobile’s website today you may have some difficulty, apparently the Windows Phone 7 smartphone sold out yesterday.

It seems as if the smartphone is currently available from the T-Mobile website here, however the fact that it sold out so quickly perhaps suggests that HTC has not correctly anticipated just how popular the HD7 is.

To be honest the stock shortages surprise me a little as there has not been much hype surrounding the HTC HD7, however I quickly just checked T-Mobile’s other high-end smartphone offerings and alternatives include relatively old devices such as the HTC HD2, BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the T-Mobile myTouch 3G.

I think if I was a T-Mobile customer who was due an upgrade I would seriously consider the HTC HD7, let’s face it the specs are impressive and the reviews showed some promise.

Did you decide to buy the T-Mobile HTC HD7? If so, are you regretting your decision?

We now have evidence that the HTC HD7 comes with a hidden microSD card slot inside, but Windows Phone 7 is yet to support it. However, there is a way for you to utilize this extra storage – if you dare that is? We have to warn you that it will take a Factory Restore (Hard Reset).

Theunwired were the ones who came across this hidden feature and cannot understand why most manufactures do not go the way of removable and not flash storage, as the former is so much cheaper? In the test, one reader decided to swap the standard SanDisk 8 GB (Class 2) with a Class 6 version microSD card.

We mentioned above that you will have to perform a factory restore (hard reset), this will then allow the card to initialize itself. This was not the end of it though, if you get error messages after that, just try taking the card out and replacing it again.

The guy who did the test did not notice any difference in speed, but it looks as though you could swap the standard 8GB microCard for a larger one – 16GB or 32GB. Being able to upgrade your Windows Phone 7 storage capacity has just made things much more interesting – just hope that Microsoft makes it easier in the future.

We have some good news for those of you planning to pick up the highly anticipated HTC HD7 from T-Mobile next month, as although you may know a price and date for T-Mobile, we’ve just learnt that Amazon will be offering a further discount.

As reported from Engadget, the phone will go on sale at T-Mobile on November 8th, available to buy direct from them for $199 on a two-year deal with the carrier.

However, if you head over to the Amazon Wireless website, you’ll see that they are offering the same phone, same deal but for 169.99 – $30 less than T-Mobile direct.

We’re not sure of the reasoning behind this, but it is great news for consumers looking to pick this one up. Maybe Amazon are just looking to get the word out about their Wireless services as well.

Let us know your thoughts on this. Are you going to take advantage of this offer?
