Today we have some exciting information for any of you who own the HTC Flyer, it looks like this tablet could be receiving an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pretty soon.

Now before you get too excited let us point out that nothing has been officially confirmed, however if you head over to AndroidandMe.com you will see that a HTC customer service representative apparently stated that Ice Cream Sandwich should hit the HTC Flyer sometime during Q1 2012 – given the fact that we are already 3 weeks into Q1 2012 this would mean that Android 4.0 is a maximum of 9 weeks away.

The HTC Flyer’s 1.5GHz single-core processor and 1GB of RAM should allow Ice Cream Sandwich to run pretty smoothly, we can’t wait to see the new lease of life this will bring to the tablet and if you check out this link for Android 4.0 platform highlights you will remember why there’s so much hype surround this flavor of Android.

Hopefully we will hear something official from HTC in the coming months, when we do we will keep you posted so keep checking Product-Reviews.net for all the latest news. While we are hear we thought we would take this opportunity to gain some feedback from our readers, therefore feel free to answer any of the following questions below…

Which Android 4.0 features / improvements are you looking forward to taking advantage of on your HTC Flyer the most?
What existing HTC Flyer problems / imperfections would you like to see resolved?

Last week we suggested that the HTC EVO View 4G release date was imminent and Sprint had begun taking pre-orders, now today it looks like the cat is out of the bag thanks to an image which recently showed up on Engadget.

According to the image Sprint will call the HTC Flyer the HTC EVO View 4G, the image clearly shows that it will become available on June 24th, you can see the image for yourself showing this date here.

Prior to this news Sprint had promised to ship the EVO View 4G “this summer”, this June 24th release date fits in perfectly with this promise, however it has not yet been confirmed officially by Sprint.

To find out official information regarding this tablet as it is announced you should register for updates via this link, with roughly three weeks between now and the proposed release date we expect an official announcement pretty soon.

If you are still considering whether the EVO View 4G is the right tablet for you check out the official product overview and technical specifications here, we wonder just how popular Sprint’s tablet offering will become as it has pretty much all of the features which people want from a modern-day tablet.

Will you buy the Sprint HTC EVO View 4G?

The HTC Flyer was finally released yesterday, and now it is time to see if all what we have been reading over the past few months is true. There have been a number of reviews on this new tablet device, but it is the HTC Flyer battery and camera review that we are more interested in. All we will tell you for now is that it is impressive and disappointing.

The battery life is one of the things that will impress you the most about the Flyer, as Engadget spent the whole day throwing everything but the kitchen sink at it, and they still found that there was 20 percent life left. Most of the things that they tried required 3G, as well as an hour on Angry Birds. Now you will see what we mean by impressive.

You would think that some of the apps would have taken most from the battery, but you would be wrong. The main culprit for high battery use was the camera, which leads us nicely into the disappointment. Although the main rear-facing camera is 5-megapixles one assumes that the lens and software are not on par with rivals, as it seemed to struggle quite badly.

In the test the HTC Flyer had almost perfect lighting, yet still the camera would produce blurry snaps. Engadget believes that the lens is unable to handle that amount of pixels, and from what we have seen they do have a point. The 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera did not perform that well either; however it will be just good enough to make and take video calls.

Hopefully we will see a few real-world tests now that the device is available to buy. How do you think the HTC Flyer will perform in this competitive tablet market?

This year we are seeing a variety of new tablets coming to market. One of these the HTC Flyer looks to be a fast device and has been available in Europe for a while now. In the US the tablet has been available for preorder, but now the HTC Flyer gets a release date and you won’t have long to wait.

An article on wireless goodness is reporting that Best Buy have announced the device will be ready to ship beginning this coming Sunday, May 22. The device had not got an official release date until this news from Best Buy, and is priced at $500.

The first tablet PC from HTC has managed to create quite a lot of interest with its digital stylus. This is an optional extra believed to cost around $80. The version available from Best Buy is the Wi-Fi only model with 16GB of internal storage, there is no news yet about a 3G version becoming available.

HTCs new tablet comes running Android 2.4 Gingerbread, but is thought to be getting an upgrade to Android 3.0 at a later date. Other features include a 5-megapixel camera and a single core 1.5GHz processor. There is also Bluetooth, microSD, and GPS, but you won’t find a flash on the unit.

Are you considering the HTC Flyer?

Just yesterday we told you that Three UK had revealed a price on contract for the much-anticipated HTC Flyer and although the Android tablet was listed in their latest product catalogue, there was still no mention of a release date. However, it now looks like the tablet has arrived!!

According to a recent article by Vlad Savov over at engadget.com, the Android run HTC Flyer is in now in stores across Europe. In regards to the price of the tablet, the 32GB 3G +Wi-Fi model has been priced up at £600 / €649, while the 16GB Wi-Fi only version has been priced up at £480 / €499.

However, local carriers – such as three UK – are offering subsidized pricing as low as £129 when purchased on a contract. The HTC Flyer, which is powered by a 1.5GHz processor and features a 7-inch display, will ship with the capacitive stylus (dubbed the Magic Pen) included in the box.

The HTC Flyer also features HTC Watch, the company’s new video download service. The service offers over 600 premium TV shows and movies from major studios. Users have the option of buying or renting their content, which can be watched immediately through progressive download.

As from today (May 13th), the HTC Flyer tablet will be available both in store and through the HTC.com website in the following territories: France, Italy, Germany, UK, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Greece, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.

A couple of months ago we announced that the much-anticipated HTC Flyer had become available for pre-order in the UK. At the time we told you that online retailer Clove.co.uk had the device up for £600. There was also mention of a Wi-Fi only version for £423, but that wasn’t available to pre-order.

Now we have a bit more good news for our UK readers, as according to a recent article by Kate Solomon over at techradar.com, Three UK has now included the HTC Flyer tablet in its latest product catalogue and in doing so, they have revealed the tablet’s pricing on contract.

Those of you that are interested in the 7-inch Android 2.3 tablet – which will be upgraded to Android 3.0 Honeycomb sometime after launch – will be able to pick it up from Three UK for £169, on a £24 per month 24-month contract. This will provide you with 15GB data allowance and 3G.

There is still no word on an official release date for the HTC Flyer as of yet. As a reminder, the HTC Flyer is powered by a single-core 1.5GHz processor and comes with 1GB of RAM, 32GB storage, a microSD slot, Bluetooth, a 5-megapixel-rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

Are you thinking of purchasing the HTC Flyer Android tablet?

We may have previously announced that the much-anticipated HTC Flyer would be launching in both the UK and the US, but up until now there has been no word on a Canadian release. However, it now looks like the Android-based tablet could be heading to Canada after all.

According to a recent article by Ian Hardy at mobilesyrup.com, the HTC Flyer has now been added to the drop down menu on the Canadian section of the HTCSense.com website. This of course gives strong indication that Canada could be seeing the tablet pretty soon.

There have been previous reports suggesting that the upcoming Android tablet could well be heading to Telus. As Ian noted, the last time a device popped up on the HTCSense.com website was with the Telus Desire HD, which only took two months to be officially released.

As many of you will already be aware, the HTC Flyer’s specs include a 7-inch touch screen display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 1.5GHz single-core Qualcomm processor, a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and Wi-Fi.

The HTC Flyer will come shipped running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but will be upgraded to 3.0 Honeycomb OS. Are you thinking about buying the HTC Flyer?

We have some important news for those of you who are seriously considering picking up the HTC EVO View 4G tablet from Sprint. It has been reported that consumers will need to pay a separate free on top of the device if they want to make use of the stylus pen.

Considering that the stylus pen is an integral part of the overall features on the View 4G, you would have thought that retailers would include this in the box, but sadly it may not be the case with the View 4G, also known as the HTC Flyer.

Instead, customers may have to pay $80 or just below £50 on top of the tablet price in a move which is sure to enrage customers who are furious that HTC are trying to get a separate fee for an accessory that should be included in the box – are you one of these consumers?

So far, HTC are yet to respond to the consumer backlash, but the story is currently spreading around like wildfire. You can see a leaked image provided by BGR which shows the proof that the stylus is sold separately. Take a look and let us know your thoughts on this.

Has HTC made a huge mistake here in your opinion? Have you changed your mind about getting one, or is this a minor issue for you?

We have some important news for those of you planning to pick up the HTC Flyer or HTC EVO View 4G as it’s also known. The device is now available for pre-order for US customers and Best Buy will be the only place you can get one for the time being.

If you’re interested in picking up HTC’s first tablet, you can now pre-order one on Best Buy’s website here, priced at $499, as reported from Phandroid. The pre-sale started yesterday (April 24th) and according to Best Buy’s official press release, the device will launch later ‘this Spring’, but no official date was mentioned.

Just to refresh you on specs, the Flyer is a 7-inch device with specs such as a 1.5Ghz single core Qualcomm processor, 1Gb of RAM, a 5 megapixel rear camera with 1.3MP front-facing camera and 32GB of internal storage, expandable via MicroSD card.

From early inspection, the HTC Flyer looks like a very fast device even if it only comes with a single-core processor, but it’s important to note that it will still ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and not Honeycomb like most of the other competitors out at the moment.

Who is planning to get one from Best Buy for $499 – is it a good deal in your opinion, or is one of the other tablets on the market such as the LG G-Slate and Motorola Xoom a better option?

We have yet more news on the Android 3.0 Honeycomb release saga in relation to the upcoming HTC EVO View 4G or HTC Flyer tablet, and it’s good news. We previously told you that the device will be shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but now you may be in for a surprise.

That’s because Sprint, who has the exclusive rights to the HTC EVO View 4G in the US, has just updated their website online, to list ‘Android 3.0′ as one of the main features of the device along with other specs, as reported from Phandroid.

It’s unsure whether the information is just a typo, but it definitely hasn’t been removed by the carrier yet – you can view it on their website here. Considering that much debate was brewing about this device shipping with Gingerberad and how much of a disappointment it was, it’s excellent news and a potential deal changer if it does indeed ship with Honeycomb.

Then it puts it right into the frame up against the iPad 2, Motorola Xoom, LG G-Slate and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 – but that 1.5Ghz single-core processor spec may still be a potential staller for you.

For now though, bask in the joy that this could be shipping with Honeycomb this Summer – will you be getting one?
