We should thank Pocketnow for the news, as they have managed to obtain spec sheets for the Samsung Galaxy S2, the HTC Desire 2, Desire HD2 and also the HTC Wildfire 2. We’re not going to think how they got hold of this info, but we’re going to share with you the juicy details.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is likely to be the most desired of the four handsets (in our opinion anyway). You’ll be pleased to know that the specs are pretty impressive. It will feature a Qualcomm 8260 Snapdragon 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, a rear 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. Pretty impressive specs there you have to say.

Interestingly, the HTC Desire HD2 features the exact processor as the Galaxy S2, but if the spec sheet is legit – it won’t be coming with a front-facing camera unfortunately. It will also be equipped with a much smaller 3.3-inch display screen, and will still support 1080p HD video recording which is nice.

We don’t have any previous information on the Desire HD2, but you can check out an alleged picture of the Samsung Galaxy S2 below. We’ll be pleased if the actual design is similar to this picture, as we’re getting pretty bored of the usual Samsung ‘Galaxy’ design which they are still churning out now.

From what we can make out from the photo, the new cellphone has a front-facing camera built next to a much wider speaker than its predecessor, also the “Android” buttons at the bottom have covered less space on the device which gives more space for the rumored AMOLED screen. Other circulating rumours state that this will run Android 2.3.1 out-of-the-box.

The leaked picture is not the first sign of the new cellphone however, the new handheld has also found it’s way onto Vodafone Germany’s inventory system which means all signs are pointing towards the arrival of the new HTC smartphone.

The original HTC Desire was released almost exactly one year ago which means it is very possible that a new release is due, hopefully we will hear some more about a possible release date and tech specs soon, perhaps we will see it next week at Mobile World Congress.

As reported from Phandroid, an image has been obtained by the guys over at Pocket-Now, who are stating that the render shown is an accurate mock-up of what the new handset will look like.

We have the picture below for you to see it for yourself. If the picture is indeed legit, then it seems as if the HTC Desire 2 will be similar in appearance to the Nexus One, and carry with it a display screen of either 3.7 or 3.8 inches.

The device will also have a front-facing camera, and will replace the trackball with the Nexus One style touchkeys towards the bottom of the display. We’re hoping that this does turn out to be the Desire 2, as the black casing definitely bumps up the style factor compared to the other Desire models that are available right now.
