Now that the HTC Arrive has been on the market for a little while, users will now get an idea at just how good it is, as well as what areas it is lacking in. It comes as no surprise that there are a number of features needed for the HTC Arrive, and we are not just talking about WP7 Mango. You can be certain that current owners would not want to change the design, as it is no secret that this is one of its strengths.

Having said that, there will be a select few who would not be happy with key areas of the design, but we know that most will have an opinion about certain areas where the Arrive is lacking. OK, so we know that the HTC handset could do with that upgrade to Windows Phone 7 Mango, but we already know that the mobile OS upgrade is coming, we just have to have a little patience.

Engadget has been asking its readers this same question, and there are no real surprises as to what needs to be changed in the next version of the HTC Arrive. One of the wishes that seems to come up is the need for more keyboards, and not just touchscreen. This is something that Motorola seems to understand, which is why they seem to launch new smartphones with the choice of both. The browser is another feature that is in need of an upgrade; again that will come with the Mango update.

There are some users that wish that not just the Arrive but also other WP7 handsets would offer a simple feature like the iPhone has, and that is a simpler way to turn the phone on silent. Currently users have to go into the setting to do this. What makes us laugh is how some of the really cheap phones already have this feature. However, even the iPhone has been a bit slow to offer simple features than less-expensive phones have.

Some current HTC Arrive owners admit that their handset has too much wrong with it, which is why they would much rather an HTC EO 4G or Samsung Galaxy S II. However, if they did choose the things needed to improve the Arrive, then a larger screen and 4G support is a must. The handset also lacks another needed feature, and that is SD expansion. We would have thought that HTC would have offered this, as they do with their range of Android handsets?

These are just a few of the much needed feature upgrades for the next HTC Arrive, but what would you like to see change?

Since the release of Windows Phone 7 a lot of users have been frustrated with the lack of copy and paste functionality, last week Microsoft rolled out an update to prepare all WP7 smartphones for a major update, now we have seen the copy and paste function in action, which surely must mean that Microsoft plan to roll out a major update pretty soon.

Recently Engadget got some hands-on time with the HTC Arrive aka the HTC 7 Pro, this handset must have an updated version of Windows Phone 7 as it features copy and paste, we have embedded the video at the end of this post, it looks pretty easy to use, however there is no way of multiple pasting, is this an issue for you?

Exactly when other WP7 handsets will receive an update which brings the copy and paste functionality is unknown, the HTC Arrive will become available from Sprint on March 20th, we presume it will ship with the version of WP7 seen in this video, perhaps this means that an update will be rolled out to all WP7 smartphones at a similar time.

As we hear more about the date of a Windows Phone 7 update we will keep you posted, hopefully it won’t be too long, but we cannot say anything just yet.

Do you like the look of the copy and paste feature in the video?

On Tuesday we suggested that Sprint HTC 7 Pro release information would be revealed on February 24th, well today is that day and we can now confirm that the the HTC 7 Pro is coming to Sprint next month, however it will be called the HTC Arrive.

If you are stil unsure as to whethe rthe HTC Arrive / HTC 7 Pro is the right smartphone for you check out HTC’s website for full details, also Engagdet’s hands-on with the handset includes a lot of photos and a video which should give you an idea as to what to expect.

A lot of people have wondered why a high-end Sprint smartphone will be rolled out in 2011 without 4G connectivity, everything else about this smartphone is pretty impressive, however we wonder if the lack of 4G will be a major factor in the handset’s success, what do you think?

Will you buy the Sprint HTC Arrive?
