We have brought you news on a number of themed gaming peripherals over the past few days, including the Razer Star Wars: The Old Republic range and the Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2 and Battlefield 3 gaming accessories. Today however we have news of Diablo III gaming peripherals.

As Michael Gorman over at engadget.com recently reported, SteelSeries has just unveiled the Diablo III mouse, headset and mousepads. The Diablo III headset boasts the same retractable microphone, overhead suspension design and 50mm drivers as the Siberia V2, but with a few design tweaks added.

The Diablo III headset – which is priced up at $119.99 / €119.99 – comes with a matte-black finish, in-line volume and mute controls, a braided cord and ‘demon red’ illuminations courtesy of the 18 LED lights found throughout the headset, which users turn off if preferred.

Meanwhile, the Diablo III mouse comes with an ambidextrous shape, 7 ergonomically positioned buttons, a laser sensor with up to 5,000 CPI and is enhanced with ‘demon red’ illuminations. Users also have the ability to remap all of the seven buttons in order to achieve a personalized setup.

The SteelSeries Diablo III mouse is priced up at $69.99 / €69.99. Those who purchase the mouse might want a Diablo III mousepad to go with it. There are two different high-quality cloth designs to choose from: the Diablo III QcK Barbarian Edition and the Diablo III QcK Witch Doctor Edition.

Both designs are priced up at $14.99 / €14.99. The SteelSeries Diablo III products should be available at game launch. Would you buy any of the Diablo III gaming peripherals?

Over the years we have managed to offer a hands-on review of a number of Bluetooth headsets, but sadly we have not been offered the Aliph Jawbone Era. However, that does not stop us from giving you all the details you need to help you decide if it is worth purchasing. We know the main three things that you look; pros and cons and more importantly the price.

Ok, lets get the price out of the way first, $129. However, before you start to ask why this is so expensive you need to remember that this is the first headset that comes with an accelerometer? This will not mean a thing if connecting to a handset but will certainly help when playing certain games.

PCMag has spent some time reviewing the device and points out that the design is a lot like previous models. There are five soft-color choices, which you do not get very often with headsets. There are some devices out there that feel uncomfortable in the ear, but the Era is said to have a snug fit.

So first with the pros: The Aliph Jawbone Era is good-looking and has good sound quality. There are not too many cons, just that the sound quality can sometimes become unclear. PC World believes that the Era is a game changer in the Bluetooth headset market. They point out that it may not be revolutionary, but what are these days?

PS3′s MAG: Should you be made to wear a headset?

MAG on the PS3 is an amazing MMO shooter that was just released in the last week in both North America and the UK. The game first hit the headlines for it’s amazing 256 player online gaming, which has been designed to fit players into 8-player squads and then platoons made up of 4 squads with 4 platoons making a company.

One incentive for players is becoming a squad leader, but to do this you have to first advance through MAG’s ranking system. Today we saw an interesting post on the gaming site N4G, which had come from a site called Platform Nation and stated “Headsets Required for MAG February 10th”.

Since then we have seen the article removed from Platform Nation and set to pending on N4G after it achieved a score of over 940. This makes the credibility of this article very weak, but it still raised a good point. The over 200 comments on N4G also showed that gamers were interested in the idea of compulsory MAG headsets.

So while it may not be true that Zipper Interactive will want all players of MAG to have headsets to play the game, it may be a good idea for those in leadership positions. Commenter’s on N4G welcomed this idea; do you think it’s a good idea to make those in a leadership position wear a headset?

Vote in the poll below, and answer the question: Should you be made to wear a headset? Share your thoughts in the comments.

[poll id="67"]
