As Robert Purchese from eurogamer.net reports, Kris Jones – the game’s executive producer – recently stated that beta testing definitely isn’t going to be too far away, considering the Transformers Universe game is due to be released in 2012. There is a team of 55 people currently working on the game, but that number will eventually increase to 70 Kris said.

Jones also confirmed that the Transformers Universe game will be taking a few nods – both thematically and visually – from the recent cartoon series, Transformers: Prime – The Animated Series. However, Kris wanted to make it perfectly clear that although they’ve taken a few aspects of the cartoon series, Transformers Universe is its own game.

One aspect of the license that the Transformers Universe game will definitely be embracing is the ability to transform into a vehicle. Not only will vehicles be an integral part of combat, they’ll also be used as a transportation aid. Jones said that the developer is currently working on what vehicles they want to offer in the game, although they can’t give a number at this stage.

Fans might also be pleased to know that robot characters will be heavily customizable in the Transformers Universe game. According to Jones, ‘having hundreds of parts to tweak is a definite target for them.’ Although Jones wouldn’t comment on whether the game would feature a level-based progression system, he did confirm that players would definitely progress.

He also revealed that combat would be team focused, and will be based on classes working together. Not only will the Transformers Universe game be aimed at newcomers, but also at people that grew up with the Transformers characters in the 1980s. However, it looks like we’ve got a bit of a wait for the game to arrive, as according to Kris Graft at gamasutra.com they won’t be releasing it until 2012. Jagex is best known for its hugely popular free-to-play browser-based MMO RuneScape, which was launched back in 2001.

Under the new partnership with Hasbro, Jagex will be releasing the Transformers MMO in Latin America, North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Although Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard didn’t reveal any details, he did promise that the game would be action-packed.

Asia on the other hand is getting a Transformers MMO of its very own. Chinese online game developer NetDragon partnered with Hasbro last year, and will be releasing their title sometime this year. Don’t forget you also have the Transformers: Dark of the Moon game to look forward to.

As you may already know Monopoly has had several makeovers in the past, having been able to get movie-themed versions of the game like Star Wars Monopoly to latest versions of the game Monopoly Here and Now.

The news of this new look Monopoly comes from an article in The New York Times. They explain that the feature that makes this different from other versions is in the center of the board is a 10” IR camera towering over everything. The camera uses infra-red light to determine where each playing piece is on the board. It counts the money, makes sure your piece lands where it should and even rolls the dice. This got us thinking as to how many Trivial Pursuit editions there have been and what is your favorite? A quick search shows that there have been 42 editions so far – the first was Trivial Pursuit Master Game – Genus Edition and the latest is Trivial Pursuit Team.

Looking through the list it starts to take me back to certain parts of my life – this is how iconic the board game is. A few of the editions that stand out for me has to be Star Wars Classic Trilogy Collector’s, Lord of the Rings and Trivial Pursuit 25th Anniversary Edition.

Do not think for one moment that the game requires you to have an high I.Q. you have seen from two mentioned above that you only need to have a good knowledge of a certain subject, it just so happen that I love the three original Star Wars movies.
