Now that Bungie has pulled the plug on the Halo video game franchise it is unsurprising to hear that a movie could be on its way, better still the people behind this film are Steven Spielberg and his DreamWorks studio.

Previously Universal and Fox were working on a Halo Movie, however high production costs resulted in their plans being scrapped, Microsoft and Bungie have always maintained that film was on hold until other Halo projects were finished, given that Halo: Reach was launched last month it all fits in nicely.

I must say that Steven Spielberg would be my number one choice for a Halo movie, however there are said to be some legal complications as DreamWorks could be capitalizing on all of Universal and Fox’s previous work.

This legal complication may be resolved quite easily if DreamWork’s use different source material, if they don’t they may have to reimburse Universal $12 million.

Do you think Steven Spielberg is the right man for the job?
