Tomorrow, January 20, 2009 will be a big day, as all money generated from a number of charities will go to the Haiti earthquake relief fund. Indie Relief has said that all Mac Software sold that gets sold from a number of websites will donate their all proceeds to the appeal.

It is nice to know that Haiti will get help when they need it most, let us hope that tomorrow will generate enough money to help support those affected most and hopefully start to rebuild the community. Who would have thought that playing games on your iPhone or Mac would help to save lives?

Even if you do not have any need for the apps, you could always purchase one for a friend or family member. Applications include, Arcade Solitaire: TriTowers for the iPhone or iPod Touch, Currencies from Edovia is also another great app, perfect if you are thinking of travelling.

If you are thinking of purchasing some Mac software, then Acorn image editor is a must; the price is just $49.95. Then there is Billable for the Mac, the cost is $34.95 and allows you to keep track of all your billable services.

For more details on all the iPhone apps and Mac software available, please visit Indie Relief

Everybody wants to do his or her bit when it comes to raising money for the Haiti Relief Fund. The latest to help is SimpleLeap Software; as they will donate 100 percent of all the sales that are generated from their Mac App, Cram. In a further incentive, the company will also offer the first 25 customers the application for free.

SimpleLeap has said that this deal will benefit everyone; the app is designed for teachers and students, and is ideal when it comes to their studies. It is a nice feeling to know that when you make your purchase for the software you are doing your bit for those who have been affected by the Haiti earthquake.

If you do not need the software just yet, then it would still be nice for you to download it still, as the Haitians certainly could do with the money. If you do not need it all then why not purchase it for a friend or family member.

More details about the deal will be announced shortly. The free Cram for Mac app purchase runs on January 20th, for those first 25 customers you will be emailed your promo code, which you can then use on Apple’s App Store.

For more details visit SimpleLeap

The earthquake in Haiti was devastating, but as we have seen in disasters, the world seems to come together. This was seen in the huge amount of donations that has pored in since it happened. However, for those who have pledged money via text donations, those charities will not see any money until the end of the persons billing cycle.

The pre-set amount for the text donation is $10, there is already a huge amount of funds waiting to be paid, but it is a shame that those charities will have to wait. However, Verizon has said that they will honor the $3 million pledged from its customers before they have received the money from them. AT&T has yet to comment what they plan to do.

In some cases though, the money could take up to 90-days to come through, this is not good news for those who really need the money in Haiti. For those who wish for Haiti to receive its much-needed cash right away, then maybe you should phone the Red Cross and donate the money direct to them.

The Inquisitr does state that Haiti will need financial help for the next few months and not just the next few days. Homes will need to be rebuilt and a nation needs to get back on its feet. If you wish to donate money then please visit Doctors Without Borders or the Red Cross

The recent Haiti earthquake was devastating, for those who still do not understand just how bad it was; Google has worked with GeoEye to show you satellite imagery of the damage. The damage can be viewed on Google Earth or maps, PC World believes that this could be very useful for aid organizations.

If you wish to view these images then you will need to download a KML file and then add an image layer to your Google Earth program. You can also choose to use Google Earth browser plug-in instead. Google have sad that they will update Google Earth, as newer data is made available.

If you already have Google Earth, then all you need to do is download the KML file the once. Google has been working hard with its Map Maker application to help develop a much better map of Haiti; this plan was put into place after hurricanes Gustav and Ike in 2009.

PC World explains that the best way to understand just how devastating the earthquake was, then just compare the before and after map on their website. We have to remember that there is nothing fun about this, as it is feared that more than 100,000 are feared dead.

There are a number of charities trying to raise much needed aid for the region, but remember that the FBI is watching those who try to scam people through bogus charities.

As you probably know experts are doing there up-most to help find survivors of the recent earthquake disaster in Haiti, a recent article posted on ComputerWorld looks at how technology is helping out.

This article does not look into technology which is used to help find survivors etc, however it does look into how industry leaders are helping out the cause.

So far Google has donated $1 million, and Microsoft has donated $1.25 million in cash along with in-kind donations, Apple have not announced a donation, however they have set up a donation mechanism within iTunes.

There are also donations from Intel, AMD, Symantec and Godaddy.com, if you are worried about missing friends or family you can check out the Haitian Earthquake Registry, to find out more about how technology is helping deal with the disaster check out ComputerWorld.

We have some welcome news for all T-Mobile customers affected in one way or another by the Haiti Earthquake that struck the country this week. T-Mobile are offering customers free calls to and from Haiti for a set period, as well as setting up a customer donation service, which will go directly to the Red Cross.

As reported from BGR, calls will be free to and from Haiti from January 12th, up until through January 31, 2010. In addition to this, T-Mobile has stated that they will be providing wireless equipment such as generators and wireless phones, to help with getting the countries communications back on track.

If you feel like donating towards the victims, you can simply text “HAITI” to “90999″ and a $10 donation will be sent directly to the Red Cross. A similar service has also been set up, where you can donate $5 by texting “YELE” to 501501.

More information over at BGR. Let us know your thoughts on it.
