Hacking has become a regular occurrence in the news of late and today we have yet more news the hacking group known as LulzSec. As you will be aware Sony has been the biggest victims of hacks lately with news of their PlayStation Network being hacked about 2 months ago.

The company then found that their Sony Pictures had been hacked by none other than the LulzSec group. If the latest hack claim is true there it seems there is no stopping this group who are becoming fairly notorious.

Their latest claim is that they are responsible for the recent alleged CIA hack. According to the report at Key103 the incident took place the same day that the group opened a telephone line for its fans so they could suggest potential hack targets.

The website became inaccessible on Wednesday but then was back up on the Thursday. LulzSec also wrote on their Twitter account ‘Tango down – CIA.gov – for the lulz’ adding more to their claim. A CIA spokeswoman said they were looking into the reports.

There is no proof that the website was even actually hacked at the moment or whether the claims themselves brought so much traffic to the site that it crashed. Check out the full article for more details by clicking the link above.

Do you think LulzSec are responsible for the CIA website outage? If so what does this mean for the security of other sites?

Many major companies are finding that they are being targeted by hackers and their security is being breached as if there was none. This is leaving many users, account holders or members of these companies fearful and open to attack themselves with private information being accessed due to these hacks.

Sony is probably the most well-known victim of hacking at the moment as they have recently been in the headlines for the PlayStation Network breach, which left many users’ data being stolen. We also brought you news of Adobe Flash Player being taken advantage of and hacked.

Now we have news of the Citi credit card company, as they have confessed that their security has been compromised and network hacked. The company has admitted that about 200,000 bank card holders’ details have been stolen.

The news comes from an article at WSJ, which reports that Citi have said details like CVV codes, expiration dates for the cards, social security numbers and birth dates were not hacked but details like contact details, email address, account numbers and names have been stolen.

Check out the link above for the full article where you will find more details about the breach. Do you have an account with Citi?
