The first thing that you will notice with the mouse is just how comfortable it feels in your hand, even when you have it held out in mid air. The mouse is very easy to customize, allowing you to choose what buttons does what functions. The mouse is very usable, better than a number of rival products on the market, and the £80 price is not that expensive when you are getting two devices in one.

Before you do anything with the mouse, you need to install the GyroTools software first; this needs to be done so you can take advantage of all of the Gyration Go 2.4 features. Once installed then the mouse is just a plug-and-play device, once the mouse has been fully charged, just place the RF receiver in the USB port and press the connect buttons on the receiver and the mouse itself, you should then be ready to go.

Before you start to use the Gyration Air Mouse Go Plus, you can use the software to change the setting in the control panel. The software will allow you to program up to 20 actions, such as cut, copy and paste. You can also control media devices as well as use the Internet.

The design of the mouse certainly feels great in the hand with its high arch and long body, after a while though your hand can often starts to lose its grip on the back part of the mouse. All of the buttons are responsive and all within easy reach. To use the mouse in the air you have to make certain that you activate this feature first, this is done by pressing on the underneath trigger twice. You are now ready to use the mouse in the air. When you are finished, just place the mouse back on your desk and the device will revert to a standard mouse.

When we used the Gyration Air Mouse Go Plus with MotionSense on the desk as a standard mouse, there were no glitches, but we did not expect any. The middle navigation button was a little tricky to get used to, but we got there in the end. The Mouse is also easy to use in the air, and did not take much getting used to, just make certain that you use quick flicks of the wrist, as the mouse responds much better then. You can use the device up to 30 feet away.

The one problem that we had with the mouse was that using the precision control in the air was often difficult, but the comfortable design and the 20 programmable commands more than makes up for this.

When we removed the mouse from its packaging, we found that it was very light, this made it feel cheap but when you start to grip it more you get a sense of how solid it has been made. When we placed the batteries in, we had to remove a section of the mouse where your palm rests.

Once the batteries are in the mouse it felt different, the extra weight made the mouse feel much nicer to handle. The mouse comes with a USB receiver, which needs to be placed in a USB port. This has to be paired with the mouse itself. You will need a pin or pen for this, just press the connect button on the USB receiver first, then you need to press the connect button on the mouse itself.

We did notice that the amber receiving light becomes distracting, but this is because my USB ports are on the side of our notebook. If you have a notebook or PC with your USB ports at the rear, then you have no problems

The Gyration Air Mouse with Motion Sensor works just like a normal mouse when using it on a flat surface, but it took us a while to get used to the feel of the mouse. Other Mice that we have tried out in the past had a heavier and slightly fatter feel , so this Mouse took some time to get used to. What we also noticed was how slow the Mouse was when moving the cursor, so you would need to go to your setting and speed the motion up.

You do not need to install any software for normal use of the mouse, but in order to use the function, you will then need to install the software provided. The flexibility GyroTools software is needed if you wish to use the extra buttons on the mouse, all of which are customizable.

When we finally got around to using the mouse for in air motion, we found that the position of the button on the bottom of the mouse was slightly awkward. This button needs to be depressed for in air action. It did take some time, but we finally started to get the hang of using the mouse, it was perfect while using Media Center.

As with all products there are good and bad points, the good being that the Gyration Air Mouse with Motion Sensor is well built, when you squeeze hard, the mouse does not make a horrible creaky sound like others mice on the market. The bad point is that horrible light that keeps flashing on the USB receiver, but maybe I should blame my notebook for not having a USB port at the rear.

The Gyration Air Mouse with Motion sensor is not the most comfortable mouse on the market, feeling awkward to use at times, but in many ways, and has to be one of the best all-in-one tools for presentations.
