If you are a big Gran Turismo fan, you would have no doubt seen Sony and Polyphony Digital’s epic Gran Turismo 6 announcement trailer that was unveiled recently. It offered a glimpse of some of the cutscene graphics that will be available for PS3 buyers later on in the year.

The key aspect of that above is cutscene graphics, as you probably haven’t seen what Gran Turismo 6 looks like in-game, with actual graphics – until now. We have a new video to show you, which gives you an exact idea of what the gameplay will look like on current-generation PS3 hardware, with Polyphony Digital deciding not to take the game to PS4 at the moment.

As expected, the graphics look beautiful and are taken from a few laps preview on the Autumn Ring race track, courtesy of GT Planet who managed to obtain the off-screen gameplay above. While we think the graphics are lovely, there is already a considerable amount of gamers who are still not happy with how the game is looking.

Look at some of the YouTube comments for an example of what we mean. Some are saying that the game looks the same as Gran Turismo 5, and should really be dubbed as ‘Gran Turismo 6 prologue’, rather than its full title. At the same time, others have defended the game, stating that this is just an early build and the game is still under development.

For a final Gran Turismo game to come out on PS3 hardware before the switch to next-gen, we think the game looks fine. Don’t forget that we will see more of GT6 at E3, which will give us another glimpse at how the game is shaping up. To call this GT5.5 though, is that a bit unfair perhaps considering the game has only just been announced?

Following on from the official unveiling of Gran Turismo 6, we now have a further treat for racing fans as we patiently await the release date towards the end of 2013. A new trailer has emerged for the upcoming PS3 game, offering an extended glimpse at the sheer beauty that the game brings, compared to what we saw from Polyphony Digital’s initial teaser.

As most of you are well aware, Gran Turismo 6 is heading to the PS3 only, suggesting that the game will not be coming to the next-gen PS4 console, or indeed the PS Vita. That is a big shame too, as we would have thought at the very least that a handheld version would release along side the main PS3 game – with cross platform racing opportunities.

It isn’t to be though, unless Sony are saving this for E3 2013. In the meantime, we have a new video for you to check out which we think you’ll enjoy. Sony initially unveiled a near-2 minute announcement trailer for the game, but a new extended clip has emerged which offers a better look for just over 3 minutes.

We see more cars and essentially, a fantastic look at the in-game engine and the graphic improvements from GT5. There are some suggestions that this new extended look at the game could also turn out to be the actual GT6 intro when you load up the game – although that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

With over 1200 cars confirmed for GT6, you can bet that the game is still going to sell through the roof, even if most consumers would have preferred a PS4 version over PS3. Take a look at the new footage above and let us know if you are still excited for GT6 or not.

As expected, Sony and Polyphony Digital have finally confirmed that Gran Turismo 6 is in development after months of speculation. The highly anticipated racer is due out towards the end of 2013, but only on PS3 as previously rumored. It means for now, there will not be a next-gen PS4 version, or indeed a handheld version for the PS Vita.

The game is to be developed on a new engine, which Polyphone Digital claims will push the limits of the PS3 hardware. A new physics engine will also be utilized, as well as building on the track and car numbers significantly, compared to what we saw in GT 5. It also seems that there will be no Prologue release as well, so is it the right move?

Polyphony Digital has said that a PS4 version could be made in the future, but their main reasoning behind bringing the game to PS3 was to give something back to the current install base. Sony has also chimed in on this by saying that a 70 million install base on PS3, compared to zero on PS4 would make sense in terms of economic potential.

The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but it will be out in the Holiday season so it could launch alongside the release of the PS4. To keep fans busy, a GT6 demo has already confirmed to be releasing sometime in July, giving players access to some of the new cars in the game, as well as the Silverstone track.

While it is obviously great to see continued support for the PS3, is there perhaps a greater disappointment over the fact that a PS Vita or PS4 version will not be coming soon? There is still a chance that a PS Vita announcement could come at E3 2013, but it looks slim at the moment.

If you still refuse to believe the rumors that Gran Turismo 6 is just hours away from an official announcement, Sony and Polyphony Digital seem to have stealthily revealed the news prematurely on the official Gran Turismo website. An event will be taking place later on Wednesday, when hopefully we’ll have a lovely new trailer to share with you.

While most of you know that Gran Turismo 6 is coming anyway, the big debate is about in what capacity. More specifically, if Gran Turismo 6 will be a PS3 game, or if Sony will also announce it for the next-generation PS4 and in the perfect scenario – the PS Vita as well.

The game is no longer a rumor though, as Gran Turismo 6 is already visible on the Gran Turismo website. An event will be happening at the Silverstone race track on Wednesday, and a blank product page has already been set up ready to go live with the details as soon as the game is announced.

You can see the page for yourself here – Sony isn’t hiding away from it. You can even substitute the 6 for a 5 in the URL for a preview of what to expect when the information is uploaded in a matter of hours. A debut trailer will be unveiled in that space we’re guessing, but perhaps full details on the game will come at Sony’s E3 press conference in June.

What are you expecting to see from the new game though? It doesn’t look like we will be getting a Prologue game, but rather a full version straight away. Polyphony Digital must be counting down the minutes, as they’ve had to keep this game a secret for months.

If you consider yourself to be a big Gran Turismo fan, then this week is set to be a very exciting one for you indeed. Sony and Polyphony Digital are teasing something big on Wednesday May 15, as part of the 15th anniversary of the franchise. All eyes are on Gran Turismo 6 being announced and a recent teaser trailer looks to have confirmed this.

Speculation has been mounting over the next installment in the popular racing series for a number of weeks now, and it looks a foregone conclusion that the speculation will firmly come to an end this Wednesday. A teaser trailer released by Polyphony Digital and Sony teases Gran Turismo games 1 to 5, then includes a mystery underscore – presumably to be revealed as Gran Turismo 6 when the event is over.

Most GT fans know that GT6 is coming, but the big question that has yet to be officially confirmed 100% is whether Gran Turismo 6 will remain a PS3 game, or if Polyphony Digital will make a version for the PS4 and PS Vita as well. It’s worth taking into consideration that a Sony Europe manager also teased recently that an ‘amazing’ game is coming to the Vita soon.

Could it be related to the GT anniversary event, with Sony announcing GT6 for the PS Vita as well, as the ‘amazing’ game? Don’t be too surprised if this happens as GT definitely belongs on the Vita in some capacity or another. If you happen to live near the Silverstone track area in the UK, then you’ll want to head down there for the event.

Sony’s next-generation PS4 console may be the main agenda at the company’s E3 2013 press conference this year, but we are hoping that the Gran Turismo 6 mystery will also be solved as well. The highly anticipated racer from Polyphony Digital is thought to be releasing on current-gen rather than next-gen, but recent box art attempts and a November 28 release date have now been suggested as fake information.

If you have been following GT6 rumors over the last few weeks, you will have most likely seen the apparent Gran Turismo box art showing a desert-like setting. On top of this we’ve seen from various retailer listings that the game is reportedly on the way to the PS3 on November 28.

However, an article by GTPlanet suggests that all of the information is fake – both the box art and the release date. They have provided evidence that the image used for the box art has actually been taken from a McLaren F1 photo set – you can clearly see the two images match up perfectly as well by looking at the set.

They also say that the November 28 release date is bogus, due to fact that the day falls on November 28 – a day of celebration, when most businesses are closed for Thanksgiving. While we have still seen many retailers operating on Thanksgiving, do you agree that a November 28 release is very unlikely?

The photo set evidence is key though on this occasion, and it just shows that you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet. Are you still clinging on to the hope that Gran Turismo 6 will release on the next-gen PS4? This is now looking unlikely by the day, as Polyphony Digital’s new game has again shown up on an online retail listing, only for Sony’s PS3 platform. We also have further evidence that the game is due out November 2013, so all eyes will definitely be on Sony’s E3 2013 conference in June when surely all of the secrets will come out at last.

It was only last week when we told you that Gran Turismo 6 had shown up in a retail listing from NewEgg. Now, the game has appeared yet again from Italian retailer Multiplayer, showing a €59.90 price tag and more importantly – a November 28 launch date, which is the same date that was initially attached to the Newegg listing as well.

Even Sony themselves have been quoted as saying that GT6 is on the way this year as a PS3 release, so is now the time to forget about seeing a PS4 version any time soon? Development time for Gran Turismo games is notoriously slow, due to the fact that Polyphony Digital always strive for perfection – obviously not a bad thing.

But it does mean that if Gran Turismo 6 is heading to PS3 on November 28, it could be a few years yet until we finally see Gran Turismo running on the next-gen PS4 (a new PS4 game that is, not GT6 running via Gaikai), so that’s definitely something to bear in mind. We also see some Gran Turismo 6 box art as well on the new listing, but this is definitely not official as we’ve already seen Multiplayer put up two different images.

Polyphony Digital or Sony has yet to confirm any of this of course, but we have had numerous reports suggesting that Gran Turismo 6 will be a PS3 game upon release. Now, we have the latest evidence to share with you, as GT6 has now shown up in an online retailer listing, revealing that the highly anticipated racer could be out on November 28, 2013.

If true, it means that it is going to fall right into the bracket of Sony’s confirmed 2013 Holiday release for the PS4. It is a risky move that Polyphony Digital may have decided upon, but then again it is also logical with the stable PS3 user base, compared to the new PS4 that a lot of consumers may be reluctant to buy into.

Assuming that GT6 is on the way to the PS3, then how long would it take to develop a version on PS4 hardware? Knowing Polyphony Digital’s reputation for perfection, it could take years before we see the first GT game on new hardware – can you wait forever? E3 2013 obviously holds the answers to a lot of these questions and we would be very surprised if we don’t hear information on the elusive game at that event.

Gran Turismo 6 as a PS4 launch title would have been a great incentive, but as the way things are going at the moment, it now seems unlikely to happen. Some of you may be disappointed over the fact that Gran Turismo 6 is only being talked about as a PS3 release, but new information revealed this week suggests that we could still get a Gran Turismo 6 release on the next-gen PS4 console as well. A few photos have emerged, teasing some new model scan tests in progress. Scans which are thought to be specifically for the next-gen version of the game.

If you have been keeping an eye on GT6 related news, you would have already heard Sony’s Michael Denny accidentally reveal that Gran Turismo 6 is coming as a PS3 release, despite not being announced officially by developers Polyphony Digital. A quote from Denny included GT6 among other titles such as GTA 5 and The Last of Us that are on the way to the PS3 soon.

Up until now, we haven’t heard any details on the possibility of GT6 also appearing on the PS4, but we’ve seen with Assassin’s Creed 4, Watch Dogs and Diablo 3 that it doesn’t appear to be a problem for developers to bring out a version for both platforms. Now this likelihood becomes even greater with the release of two Facebook photos that were initially titled as ‘Scans for Gran Turismo PS4′ – in Italian.

You can see the Facebook link here courtesy of GTPlanet, but unsurprisingly, the information has now been deleted altogether – suggesting that this was information that wasn’t meant to be disclosed publicly yet. The photo you see above is one of the two images supplied by car manufacturer L.M. Gianetti, who are now likely to be including some of their models in the upcoming game.

Although this is still a rumor, it looks like one of the major announcements at Sony’s E3 2013 press conference has now been revealed early – as usual. Having said that, we all knew Gran Turismo would be showing up on the PS4 sooner or later. What we want to know now though, is whether the game will be ready as a PS4 launch title or not, let’s wait and see what happens.

While we saw the likes of Killzone Shadow Fall and the exciting Watch Dogs at Sony’s PS4 event almost a week ago, one game that we thought we might see but didn’t, was Gran Turismo 6. The next installment of Polyphony Digital’s popular racing franchise is already in development, but you may be surprised to hear that it has just been confirmed for release on the current PS3 console.

Considering the imminent switch to PS4 at the end of this year, it would have been a logical thought to assume that Gran Turismo 6 would be heading to the PS4 as a launch title. While this still may come to fruition, Sony’s Senior Vice-President Michael Denny has let slip that Gran Turismo 6 is definitely on the way to the PS3.

GT5 was a massive success on the PS3 of course and actually it may not be such a surprise in the end, if Polyphony Digital look to maximize sales with a PS3 release instead of PS4, with some consumers being reluctant to switch over to next-gen straight away. The same situation also applies to GTA 5 in a way, with no information yet on whether the game will be playable on the PS4 in a digital capacity – PS3 discs won’t work remember.

Denny was speaking about the continued longevity of the PS3, by pulling out this quote that contained the juicy bombshell about Gran Turismo 6, which was previously a mystery without a platform: “Look at the games coming out on the PlayStation 3 like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6, and then on the third-party side of things another fantastic Assassin’s Creed, GTA.”
